Americans can be forgiven for suffering from whiplash regarding law and order. In recent weeks the Biden administration and many news outlets, including USA Today and The Hill, have touted declines in violent crime statistics to argue that America is becoming a safer place. “Right now, with 2023 figures and early 2024, the trends are all pointing down, in a positive direction,” Jeff Asher, whose New Orleans-based AH Datalytics is developing his own “Real-Time Crime Index,” told RealClearInvestigations. Conservative outlets, including City Journal and the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal, assert that minor declines in headline grabbers like homicides fail to capture what is really happening

Many local police departments have just stopped reporting violent crimes to the FBI, so the "official statistics" are worthless these days. Crime is way up, regardless of the Biden Lie Machine telling you that crime is down, inflation is down, your paycheck is up, and gas prices are down.......ALL lies.

I don't listen to local TV news due to all the crime news. Crime is worse. Workers want to work from home so they don't need to walk around our city with homeless, filth, smells, and drugs.

Nextdoor is more of the same usual hated social media but it IS media as in communication and it is social as in individual-primary-sources. It is, admittedly, anecdotal. And my account there is a burner. BUT...it is still filled with tales of encounters, near-encounters and scares. These are leafy, affluent suburbs dealing with a daily torrent of thieves, thugs, chancers, snoopers, addicts creeping through their neighborhoods in search of an unlocked car or open window or, God forbid, an unaccompanied child. Leftists have done such a thorough job of emptying cities of any and all assets, businesses, residents that the criminal scum who remain MUST migrate to the suburbs simply to find anything to steal.

From the article: " Still, in 2020, 2021 and 2022, either all or some of the biggest police forces in the U.S. -- New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles -- did not provide data. There have also been problems with the data that was submitted, including the news in 2022 of major problems with the St. Louis Police Department data, and more recent revelations that figures for sexual crimes provided by the New Orleans Police Department were wrong." The FBI made reporting far more difficult, which means many cities just stop trying, and many cities have political reasons to intentionally lie, or their Soros prosecutors no longer report huge numbers of violent crimes that they aren't dealing with at all.

There was an article today https://justthenews.com/nation/states/center-square/houston-police-chief-resigns-mayor-shocked-latest-investigations) where the Houston police chief resigned because he knew that the police dept was under reporting crimes. Worse than unreporting, not even investigating. 264,000 crimes that went unreported and not investigated.

Houston Police Chief just resigned. The Houston Police had used code "no personnel available" to avoid investigating 248,000 cases, including rape and murder. The code is used to keep those crimes off the list of reportable crime statistics.

The good news in Houston is that "stats show crime is way down". The bad news is that 264,000 violent crimes were just ignored and 'erased' by the police departmen So, don't worry, crime isn't really exploding under Democrats, and if it is "It's Trump's fault".

I recall watching live testimony regarding the goings-on at a polling place in Atlanta. A lady -If I recall correctly she was a poll watcher of some sort- stood and told of instance after instance after instance of cheating that she personally witnessed. After she finished, a guy in a fancy suit -who happened to be a black guy- got up and said to her "You are aware that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (at least I think that was the outfit that he named) found that there was no evidence of cheating or fraud that occurred in that election." And she replied: "I know what they reported. And I know what I saw with my own eyes."

How Donald Trump can use the debates to

In deciding to debate ex-President Donald Trump on June 27 and Sept. 10, President Biden tacitly admitted he’s losing right now; this is a Hail Mary gambit to turn the race around. Trump needs to figure out how to seal the deal instead. That means practicing so he can keep his cool, and pull off a performance more like the second 2020 Biden-Trump faceoff than the first.Biden’s goal will be to goad Trump into shooting himself in the foot on things like abortion and early voting.

Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Marjorie Taylor Greene had a heated exchange Thursday evening during what was supposed to be a contempt hearing for Attorney General Merrick Garland. The House Oversight Committee had originally been convened to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt for refusing to comply with a subpoena to hand over an audio recording of President Biden’s interview with a special counsel. The hearing quickly spiraled out of control, with lawmakers bickering with one another. Less than an hour after the hearing was underway, Greene took shots at her Democratic colleague, Rep. President Joe Biden polls at or below 40 percent approval. Historically, such unpopularity has made it almost impossible for a president to be reelected. Biden is not so much an octogenarian as an unhealthy and prematurely aging 80-year-old. It is America's irony that he is fit for almost no other job in the country other than the presidency, which apparently allows for a three-day-a-week ceremonial role while others in the shadows run the country. So how does Biden become renominated and reelected, as polls show he is behind in almost every critical swing state on nearly every issue?

As far as the Democrats are concerned, anyone who doubted that the 2020 presidential election was "the most secure election in American history" is an insurrectionist "election denier." And such "deniers" are, in this formulation, a threat to democracy whose efforts must be thwarted again in 2024. But the assumptions behind this mindset are the reason why it is President Joe Biden's political party, not the Republicans, that may well be the real threat to election integrity and democracy this year. Having spent the last three and a half years trashing their political foes as authoritarians, Democrats have come to believe their success at the ballot box is indistinguishable from

Democrats were hoping 2024 would be all about Donald Trump. Instead the No. 1 issue in a world on fire is Joe Biden’s incompetence. Last week, President Biden said he would withdraw military aid to Israel if it commenced military operations to go into Rafah and go after Hamas. There were many reactions to this announcement because it seemed to perfectly encapsulate the incoherent Israel policy the Biden administration has been developing since Hamas’ brutal attack last October that touched off the war in Gaza. On one hand, the American people are broadly supportive of Israel and the moral justification for this war. Lest anyone forget, Hamas

The presidential primary may be decided, but election season marches on. Voters in several states, including Maryland and West Virginia, chose nominees Tuesday in critical races that could decide the balance of power on Capitol Hill next year. Here are some early takeaways from Tuesday’s primaries: Maryland’s former Republican governor, Larry Hogan, easily won his party’s nomination for the U.S. Senate seat opened by Democratic Sen. Ben Cardin’s retirement. The Senate race in the solidly Democratic state would normally be a snoozer, but Hogan is a candidate unlike any other Republican.

None of the five civil and criminal cases currently lodged against former President Donald Trump have ever had merit. They were all predicated on using the law to injure his re-election candidacy—given a widespread derangement syndrome among the left and a fear they cannot entrust a Trump/Biden election to the people. These criminal and civil trials are merely the continuation of extra-legal efforts of the last eight years to destroy a presidential candidate in lieu of opposing him in transparent elections.
