Commentary's John Podhoretz has a fascinating and worthwhile essay bringing up a few points that aren't being considered much, in an essay titled "How Can Biden Stay in Now."He begins this way ... There’s a scene in the peerless animated comedy Monsters Inc.—a cable-news special report featuring Dr. Frasenberger, who looks like a giant pencil. “It is my professional opinion,” he begins calmly, “that now is the time…TO PANIC!!!!!” If I were a Democrat today, or a Never Trumper, I would be Dr. Frasenberger. Because now is the time TO PANIC!!!! if you don’t want Donald Trump to be

Per Monica, Podhoretz tries to throw a life preserver to dems by creating an heroic fantasy of Biden's dropping out of the race and the dems pulling a rabbit candidate out of their hat to win the election. The problem is, Biden is not, and never has been a hero. Biden is a sleazy, slimy, wheeler dealer in all things that that benefit Biden. Biden TALKS and fantasizes about self sacrifice but he NEVER sacrifices anything. Further, Biden has that angry, senile man thing going on. He furiously doubles down on all the lies he makes (as if they were really, really real) in the face of a massive public perception that he is wrong, at best, or lying, at worst. For either reason, he is disconnected from reality. If you have had any experience with challenging an angry, senile person, the results are not pretty and can even become violent. Worse for the dems, if Biden does stay in the race and suffers a meltdown, HOW can the campaign, dem party, and propaganda media defend that they were "unaware" of the extent of the seriousness of Joe's problems. It would cement in the public mind that these people CANNOT be trusted and will do and say anything to win, which, of course, is and has been the truth for quite a while now. The public having to confront that reality will be an interesting sea change. The dems crafted their "Biden solution" for 2020 to stave off a Sanders presidency. Now they realize the slow poison that is Biden. Biden's end will not be heroic but instead a well deserved tragedy for him, his party, and the Left. For our Country, it is another chance at rebirth.

You cannot humiliate someone who has no shame. You cannot reason with someone who has no brain. And you cannot appeal to the better angels of a villainous devil. The only way Turniphead exits the race is through some 'unexpected' event.

The powers that put Biden into the Presidency, in my judgment fraudulently, will not be fazed by his embarrassments. They set about to destroy a society built on capitalism and freedom a hundred years ago and they will not allow a mere Presidential election to slow them down. Biden was elected by trickery and device and can be again.

It would be interesting to see a comparison between LBJ in 1968 to Biden today. LBJ quit re-election on March 31st of that year. Biden could still do the same. But - I think Johnson was not detached from reality. He could read the polls and could not chance losing to Nixon. But Biden seems oblivious to his unpopularity and cannot image losing to that Trump guy.

The SOTU speech will have higher than normal viewership, not because anyone cares what Biden has to say about anything, but because he has become a circus clown who is partly entertaining and mostly horrifying. Anyone voting for him at this point is actually voting for the team of blithering idiots who manage him.

#9 is quite correct. Viewership of the SOTU will be higher than normal for the same reason that bad-hearted non-racecar fans watch the Indy 500. They want to see a major crash. Giving the Resident a solid hour in the unblinking kleig lights, the White House wizards of pollincture with their Adderall, their putty knives, and their make up may have an impossible task ahead. I'm still saying the ultimate game plan is Big Mike condescending to accept the party's nomination when Biden either says he will not be running (doubtful), has an 'accident' and Kammie has to step in as president (also doubtful, but less so) or the puppeteers decide to allow a 'revolt' at the convention and the electors vote for Big Mike. I don't know how it will happen, but I'll bet $100 Joe won't be the ultimate candidate in Nov. 2024. I'd bet $10 that it will be Big Mike.

Podhoretz wants to make the disastrous Biden presidency solely about the disastrous Joe Biden and not his disastrous policies. That's because Podhoretz supports Biden's disastrous policies -- Which would also be the disastrous policies of Gavin Newsom or anyone else the Democrats might substitute.

Biden won’t stop running for reelection because, according to him, he made a solemn promise to his dying son Beau that he would run for the presidency to fulfill his son’s dying wish. How much of that you want to believe is up to you. Of course, his teleprompter skills will be on full display during the State of the Union address. “Dr. Jill” may have to read it for him.

Former President Donald Trump managed to pull off a campaign miracle with a wildly successful rally in South Bronx on Thursday night. The Bronx is the poorest borough in New York City, and South Bronx is the poorest area. Most residents are black or brown, and they vote overwhelmingly Democrat. No Republican presidential candidate has gone anywhere near the area in decades. On Thursday morning, heavy rains flooded the park where the rally was to be held. Bronx-based Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., tweeted “God is good” upon seeing the weather, believing it would keep Trump crowds away. She also taunted Trump for being the victim of Democrat lawfare,

The Biden Administration’s recent announcement of tariffs, and other protectionist measures aimed at China, is the latest increase of economic tensions and search for political momentum. The White House moves may have increased the saliency of trade as an issue, but the ignition was the December announcement of U.S. Steel’s agreement to be acquired by another publicly traded company, Japanese-based Nippon Steel. Aside of what strategic approach toward China is best, the U.S. Steel acquisition agreement illustrates how protectionist rhetoric, including the supposed defense of jobs, does not match economic reality. Similarly, the national security rationale is a thin smokescreen meant to scare Americans with borderline jingoism rather than facts.

A U.N. court’s order that Israel halt its offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah has deepened a disconnect with the United States over a military operation that faces mounting international condemnation but that American officials describe, at least for now, as limited and targeted. The decision Friday by the International Court of Justice in The Hague adds to the pressure facing an increasingly isolated Israel, coming just days after Norway, Ireland and Spain said they would recognize a Palestinian state, and the chief prosecutor of a separate international court sought arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as leaders of Hamas.

It seems urgent for the long-term survival of the United States and the Free World – where people enjoy unprecedented freedom of speech, property rights, economic opportunity, religious freedom and other civil liberties – not to accept assaults on these hard-won achievements either at home or abroad. Adversaries have become increasingly empowered, and allies may well be losing confidence in the West's leadership. This week it was announced that three countries in Europe, Ireland, Norway and Spain – all of which have long, unfortunate histories of antisemitism – plan to recognizing a Palestinian State that will be terrorist.

The Israeli government, according to reports, is being pressured by the Biden administration to send the money to the PA. This addled and dangerous proposal amounts to expecting the Jews to support the same people who are murdering them. The Biden administration has also been launching a legal and diplomatic offensive to discredit, isolate, and penalize Israel for trying to defend itself against terrorist attacks. Meanwhile, the PA, instead of acknowledging that it is terrified to go back to the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, is trying to pressure Israel into accepting the creation of a Palestinian state and releasing the tax revenues. Trucks carrying badly needed aid for the Gaza Strip rolled across a newly built U.S. pier and into the besieged enclave for the first time Friday as Israeli restrictions on border crossings and heavy fighting hindered the delivery of food and other supplies. The shipment is the first in an operation that American military officials anticipate could scale up to 150 truckloads a day, all while Israel presses in on the southern city of Rafah in its 7-month offensive against Hamas. But the U.S. and aid groups warn that the floating pier project is not a substitute for land deliveries that could bring in all the food,

Slovak authorities charged a man Thursday with attempting to assassinate Prime Minister Robert Fico, saying he acted alone in a politically motivated attack that left the longtime leader in serious but stable condition. Fico’s pro-Russia views have contributed to deep divisions in the small European country that borders Ukraine, and the shooting attack Wednesday shocked the nation and reverberated across the continent weeks ahead of elections for the European Parliament. While President-elect Peter Pelligrini and President Zuzana Caputova urged people to dial back the sharp rhetoric that has characterized the country’s political debate, some Fico allies took aim at Slovakia’s media for contributing to the polarization.
