A new stage production of the highly popular coming of age play Peter Pan will seek to eliminate some of the original songs for the Native American characters, to rewrite the scenes to offer Native Americans a “safe place,” and to cancel the “stereotypes” and “caricatures” of Native peoples.
The latest Broadway revival has hired Lakota playwright Larissa FastHorse to rewrite the book for the new touring production because, in her words, the original play by J.M. Barrie “had caused harm to people.” “When you read the original material, it’s very hurtful, it’s blatantly hurtful."

The rot/communization of American culture/civilization: rewrite/bastardize history, plagiarize creativity into lockstep mindless propaganda, destroy/tear down the triumphs of everything these contemporary cretins can never crawl out of their sea of self-sewage to ever think about accomplishing,
The insanity of it all is we are standing here, slack jawed, doing nothing but playing with ourselves, aiding and abetting these nameless, faceless Soros thanantos focused demonics with our mindless silence and spiritual paralysis.
Despicable cowards are we.

This kind of stuff usually really makes me angry. But, it’s a stage production so I’m confident that maybe 19 people tops will see this. Fewer will care.

Gee, when are white people and Christians and conservatives going to get some "safe spaces" to escape from all the insane and evil things that lie-berals are trying to shove down our throats?!?!?!?
Just curious...

#1, masses need leaders. The influential among us are NOT leaders, they are 'shepherds', pushing from behind at the behest of hidden, dark, political (and for the faithful: spiritual) forces. Think of the expanding, rapid-fire social discourse and preposterous nonsense we are FORCED to accept as new normals. We are watching our own demise right before us. I don't think we are cowards so much as dazed and confused and sensing an impending chaos. Right now, Trump is the only seemingly capable LEADER, albeit in a direction unapproved by the shepherds. And the 'forces' are not happy.

I predict the critical review will be simply: Peter Pan panned.

Go ahead and rewrite it. It will bomb like every other 'woke' revision to date. Paying customers will continue to satisfy themselves with old DVD's of the original if they even bother to care. This 'news' right now will be the only attention it will garner.

Reply 12; If Pan is to be gay, flying will be a cinch, since he’ll be light in the loafers.
Anyway, this proposed production will bomb just a bad as Disney’s “Brown Snow and the Seven Homeless Bums.”

If they want to make it true to past native American cultures some of those Indians will needs to sneak into the Lost Boys camp and kill some of them and take them as slaves. Who knows what they might do to Wendy. Remember, past Indian culture was not all peaceful and kind as depicted in Disney movies.

The Lakota were known as fierce warriors. I suppose now they will be known as the fierce people whose feelings were "harmed" by Peter Pan. Good grief. This will tank and everybody will cry racist because people liked Peter Pan the way it was as opposed to the new age interpretation.

As opposed to the stereotype of overbearing fathers, which is what the play is about, given the father is also Captain Hook.

The only Peter Pan movies I've seen are the animated one back when I was in first grade via film in the school auditorium. And the Robin Williams Dustin Hoffman movie in theaters when I was stationed at Pearl harbor. I went to the nearby mall and spent over 100 dollars to by a pair of Air Jordans. Those were the days. I also saw all of the much-deserved flack woke Disney got with their movie Peter Pan & Wendy. In their zeal to make the girl the hero who doesn't need a boy's help. Now this rewrite. I refuse to spend money on ANYTHING dealing with Disney so the only way I'll learn about how badly this will flop is if I read about it here.

that's right, when the commies, outrightly, declare something not beneficial to the populace they just "revise" it into oblivion and make it go away or dilute it so it's not recognizable in its original form, kind of on the idea of the duties of Winston Smith
= anyone with an original copy of Peter Pan should hold onto it .... it might be worth something after the communist purge finds it has no more intended book criminals to societally eviscerate and punish
