Disney fans battered by inflation are hitting the “Cancel” button in droves.
The Disney+ streaming service lost 1.3 million subscribers worldwide during the last three months of 2023 as a steep price hike took a toll on fans’ wallets. In the U.S. and Canada alone, the streamer bid goodbye to 400,000 customers — Disney+’s largest-ever reported domestic decline.
The drop represents a major hit for Disney, which has been pouring billions of dollars into its streaming services without yet reaching profitability.

Looks like inflation has hit the groomers.
Who would have ever thought that parents would have to block the Disney channel.

Woke companies, and woke critters in general, have a seriously flawed idea of how money works. They think they can bump up prices without consequence. That is patently false, ESPECIALLY when Disney is doing everything it can to DESTROY its wholesome brand. The company's value is being undermined by being overpriced and being grossly warped to the Left.
Florida's action of removing self governing control over Disney World should have screamed "DANGER, DANGER WILL ROBINSON", but Disney remains stubbornly Lost in Space Mountain. How hard do they need to be dope slapped to realize that they are standing on the edge of a VERY tall cliff and ready to topple over. Disney suffers from "Too Big to Fail" arrogance as well as Woke-ism. It's a very bad combination.

My cable company is doing the same thing, but a dollar at a time. Every time I open the bill it is slightly higher than last month. Over time, it has gotten expensive. Going to cut the cord at the end of this billing period.

Disney is dead to me. They ruined Marvel, they ruined Pixar and they ruined Star Wars. That's bad enough but they are groomers and have no respect for families.

I dropped them over a year ago. Not over their wokeness because my kids aren't that age so I wasn't fully aware of,that side but simply because there was nothing I wanted to see after I watched the one decent show they had.

Well, to put this in perspective, they increased prices 27%, and lost just over 1% of subscribers. That’s what we call inelastic demand. Sounds like Disney comes out way ahead with this increase.

If the biggest bunch of pedophiles in the country can't make a go of it, what chance do the little guys have? It's a good thing that the public schools can groom the kids at taxpayer expense or they are in danger of losing their supply of sexually confused kids. Professional sports is also doing everything they can to lose the Sunday couch potatoes but parents will pay a lot to keep their kids and husbands occupied. Actually going to a stadium is out of the question these days. The main thing currently being advertised is sports-betting, which is a huge evil in itself and probably eats through millions of allowances every week. Any day now, the cable and streaming bill is going to equal your heating bill and one of them will have to go. On-air channels are just as entertaining as the junk you pay for and you might learn a recipe or two.

I don’t think the bean counters realize that people signed up for all those streaming services and they add up. They look at their bill and are realizing how many they are paying for and only watching one movie or less per month. With inflation they are realizing that they can substantially lower their monthly bill by a hundred bucks a month or more. Money they could better use at the grocery store. Streaming services are a luxury that can be cut when people see what little they are getting for their money.

#7 says it best.
They just announced an increase in their dividend, stock is up around $13 per share today.
They are also going to be streaming Taylor Swift "The Era's Tour" and have a new sports group.
And, they are going to concentrate more on their theme parks which is major drivers of revenue.
