Washington — The Supreme Court on Friday declined for now to take up a landmark case over whether former President Donald Trump is absolutely immune from prosecution for alleged crimes committed while he was in office, a move that allows the appeals process to play out first. The court issued a one-line, unsigned order denying the request from special counsel Jack Smith: "The petition for a writ of certiorari before judgment is denied." There were no noted dissents. The high court's decision paves the way for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to rule first on whether the former president can be

Well Knowing the District Court system as I don I am sure they will be bringing that case up as quickly as possible and they will rule that he is not immune which will take it back to the Supreme Court and Rogers will delay it as long as possible---not to help Trump, but because he does not have the balls to bring it up.

US President Joe Biden urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to halt a pre-emptive strike against Hezbollah forces in Lebanon, just after Hamas launched its savage attack on Israel, the Wall Street Journal reported. The report claimed that Biden warned that a pre-emptive strike on Hezbollah "could spark a wider regional war." According to WSJ, Israel had intelligence that Hezbollah terrorists were preparing to cross the border as part of a multipronged attack, but the US deemed Israel's intelligence "unreliable." Warplanes in the air awaiting orders were called off their task, WSJ claimed, quoting "people familiar with the call," due to Biden's pressure.

Former President Donald Trump has been asking allies and advisers for their thoughts about Nikki Haley as a potential vice presidential candidate, two sources familiar with the conversations tell CBS News. The feedback from the MAGA crowd regarding putting Haley on the ticket if Trump wins the GOP nomination has been overwhelmingly negative, according to these GOP sources. Politico first reported that Trump allies are working to quash the possibility of a Trump-Haley ticket. The former South Carolina governor has been gaining ground in recent polls, and a top Trump adviser tells CBS News one internal prediction is Haley might be a close third in Iowa to DeSantis, or

Back in the dark days of the Soviet Union (USSR), it was not unusual for foreign visitors, especially journalists and diplomats, to go home and tell everybody how clean everything was, how happy and well-fed the people all appeared to be and how all of them expressed undying love and devotion to the Communist Party. They got those impressions because Soviet officials routinely took such visitors to "Potemkin Villages" — fake towns created specifically for the purpose of concealing from those visiting the USSR from outside of the Communist "paradise" the hellish reality of oppression, starvation and official brutality within it.

A British businessman recently pointed out an obvious truth that climate change activists do not want to hear: There are no readily available replacements for the replacements for the resources that feed the earth. Former Visiting Fellow at Oxford’s Nuffield College Neil Record took the leftist environmentalist group Just Stop Oil up on their signature proposition and examined how the world would fare without fossil fuels in a Dec. 19 column for The Telegraph. The “nightmarish scenario” Record envisions demonstrates just how much humanity depends on coal, oil and gas for a wide variety of basic needs. Record made his disturbing conclusion early on: “But what

Secretary of State Antony Blinken asked Wednesday why the world was pressuring the victim of terror, Israel, instead of pressuring the terrorist “aggressor,” Hamas, whose surrender would end the war in Gaza and save the lives of many Palestinian civilians. Blinken was answering questions from reporters in a year-end press conference when he delivered this response on the Gaza war: Everyone would like to see this conflict end as quickly as possible. But if it ends with Hamas remaining in place, and having the capacity and the stated intent to repeat October 7th again and again and again, that’s not in the interests of Israel,

Doctors responsible for treating the released Israeli hostages have confirmed that female hostages suffered violent sexual assaults at the hands of Hamas captors. The doctors confirmed to USA Today that Hamas sexually assaulted “many” of the released female hostages aged 12-48, adding that the hostages “came to us as patients with the trauma of those who witnessed very severe sexual assaults.” Upon their release, the hostages received pregnancy tests and were tested for sexually transmitted diseases. “We know that female hostages were raped during their captivity under control of Hamas,” one Israeli military official said. Hamas still holds 19 women and two children captive.

He is survived by four children, seven grandchildren, and his wife, American citizen Judi Weinstein, 70, who still remains in Hamas captivity. This afternoon a university in beautiful, magical Prague descended into unfathomable hell on earth. A deranged lunatic – a domestic terrorist by any measure – murdered his father, brought the rifle to the university he attended – Charles University – and laid siege to fellow students and people on the streets. Terrified students cowered on ledges behind balcony parapets… …or leapt from them to the balconies below. Others barricaded themselves in classrooms, hoping to survive the gunman’s assault, and then waited for an evacuation by police or an “all clear.” When he was finally “eliminated,” as Czech police phrased it, 14 precious lives had been snuffed out,

More flustered than Elmer Fudd in the closing seconds of a Looney Tunes episode, President Joe Biden summoned his inner circle late last month to explain why his poll numbers were so dismal — and to ask them what they were doing to boost them. The scene, captured by the Washington Post’s Tyler Pager and printed as the lead story in the paper’s Monday edition (“Biden Upset By His Low Polling,” Dec. 18), has Biden bellyaching that his economic successes have failed to move the dial, and notes that the president has been complaining about this for some time. The great ignominy of Biden’s sagging popularity, writes Pager, is that

A fiery explosion rocked Gaza City on Thursday as the Israel Defense Forces destroyed a massive network of Hamas tunnels built to link the homes of some of the terror group's senior leaders. "After Hamas's 'Senior Quarter' was revealed last night in Gaza City, a complex that includes a network of branched tunnels connecting hiding apartments, bureaus, offices and living apartments of senior members of the military and political wing of Hamas, the route of the tunnels was destroyed today," the IDF wrote Thursday. Giuliani filed for Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York, listing estimated assets of between $1 million and $10 million and estimated liabilities of $100 million to $500 million.

But the greatest threat he poses is to our democracy. If we lose that, we lose everything,” Biden wrote.

George Blakemore condemned Biden's unwillingness to secure the border, urging former President Trump to "come in here and clean up this mess" as some of the poorest neighborhoods suffer from a lack of funding and city services due to the migrant crisis.

Andrew Cuomo is officially waiting (very quietly) in the wings, Page Six hears. Insiders tell us that the former governor — who has been quietly polling on his chances of being elected mayor of New York City in the event the troubled Eric Adams craps out — is “leaning towards” a run at City Hall. Adams is not only facing historically low approval ratings, but his office is also under investigation for its ties to the Turkish government. Now we hear Cuomo — who himself resigned in 2021, after a string of sexual harassment allegations against him (which he has consistently denied) — is ready to run should the opportunity present itself.
