After meeting with congressional leaders and members of the Biden administration Thursday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said he was not optimistic about getting help from the federal government to deal with the illegal immigration crisis his city is dealing with. Adams noted in a Friday press conference that the city's residents are weary, angry, and "seeing the impact of the migrant and asylum seeker issue, how it is taking away from the resources that should go to the day‑to‑day services of running the city." He said that he "did not walk out from D.C. with any level of optimism that anything is going to drastically change."

Woe to Adams for criticizing NYC's open border with Mexico. Being a democrat and not walking in lockstep with the DNC is like death and taxes, you're assured something bad is coming. Democrats vote as a block because they terrorize those who don't follow suit.

Please do not make the mistake of thinking that Adams is asking for the borders to me closed. He is just asking for US taxpayer (aka borrowed) money to give the "migrants" free housing, food, medical care, and education for their children. Adams is still a good party line towing Democrat, he just doesn't have enough government money so his answer is to cut protection and services for actual legal residents of NYC. That is why he has dropped to the lowest approval rating ever for a NYC mayor.

#3 has it figured out. Asking “Washington” for help is asking Bob and Ruth in Des Moines, Birmingham, or Savannah to give a little more of their cash to house, feed, clothe, and school illegal invaders. Poor Eric. He hasn’t yet realized he’s not high enough in the Democrat caste. The illegals don’t concern Joe, Nancy, Zero and Big Mike, or Hill and Bill because they have “theirs” and are exempt from the trials and tribulations of the rubes. I’m afraid, Eric, you’re a rube. You just don’t know it. (Bless his heart.)

Eric, go spend a couple of days in El Paso, Laredo, Brownsville or some other small town near the border if you want to see what a real crisis looks like. Those places aren’t getting any help either and they never declared themselves to be sanctuaries. You asked for it; you got it. Enjoy it.

Instead of cutting the bloat, waste and buddy jobs out of the budget Adams cuts policing and trash removal hoping to inflict enough pain on his citizens to create an uproar in Washington. An arrogant idea that is not working. The only political casualty from this mess will be him. The voters will just replace him with another Democrat.

Poor Eric, he thought he was going to dance and party for four years while one of the biggest cities in the country ran itself. He eagerly went along with the homeless policies, crime spree and government corruption that has brought New York to the point of financial and human ruin. He ran on the fact that his police experience meant he could do the job. I love it when reality catches up to people who have plugs in their ears, blinders on their eyes and nothing in their heads but dead air. He is just a shorter, darker and uglier version of Gavin Newsom.

Pitiful, the man is absolutely pitiful. And the illiterate democratic voters still don't get it. The typical NYC voter complains about the benefits these illegals are taking from them. All of the free goodies are now going to the new people on the block. Instead of talking about the hard earned taxpayers dollars going to those parasites, instead of talking about the police budgets getting cut, instead of talking about rampant crime, anti-semitism and failing schools, all they worry about is themselves. No it's not about ur country, it's not about their cities, it's all about THEM. The illiterates of our society have spoken. And why isn't Adams just busing them back to Mexico. Got it.

Agree with #4. This has always been the goal of the dems ~ chaos, disunity, discord, anarchy etc. ~ anything to overwhelm our systems. They are achieving their goal ... at least in the short-term. Why would they be interested in helping any mayor bring stabilization to his city? It would defeat that goal. I can also see the validity of the points made in #s 3 and 6.

Scientists have developed the world's first mind-reading AI that translates brainwaves into readable text. It works using a sensor-covered helmet that looks at specific electrical activity in the brain as the wearer thinks, and turns these into words. The revolutionary tech was pioneered by a team at the University of Technology Sydney, who say it could revolutionize care for patients who have become mute due to a stroke or paralysis. A demonstration video shows a human subject thinking about a sentence shown on a screen, which then switched to what the AI model decoded - and the results are nearly a perfect match.

Hamas-linked financiers made hundreds of millions of dollars of profits by shorting Israeli stocks before the October 7 massacre, two analysts say. One unidentified trader 'shorted' 4.43 million shares in Israel's largest bank, Leumi, between September 15 and October 5 - meaning they gambled that the price of Leumi's shares would fall. After the October 7 attack, Leumi's share price did indeed plummet as its operations were paralyzed, earning a $900 million profit for the trader, who is believed to have links to Hamas. The trade and others were unearthed by Robert J. Jackson, Jr, from New York University School of Law, and Joshua Mitts of Columbia Law School.
