Amy Carter choked back tears on Wednesday as she talked about the love story of her parents, Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter.
Her father, the former president Jimmy Carter, sat in the front row as she spoke. He arrived at his late wife Rosalynn's memorial in wheelchair and underneath a blanket bearing her face in a heartbreaking goodbye to his wife of 77 years.
The 99-year-old sat in the front row with his family and alongside all the living first ladies - Melania Trump, Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, and Jill Biden - and President Joe Biden and Bill Clinton.

I was not a fan of the Carter presidency, BUT... I always thought Jimmy Carter was as honest as a politician could be.
God bless them both... here and beyond.

Political slant aside, The Daily Mail does a spectacular job of a photographic tribute. Wow!

Amy must have been a 'surprise' - born 15 years after her closest sibling. May Rosalynn rest in peace.

Sorry. I lived through the Carter years. I can’t.

As a human being, and a husband, it has to be heartbreaking for President Carter to lose his wife of 77 years. I feel sorrow for the entire family. I couldn't abide by his policies, but I hope she rests in Gods Grace.

The Carters never used their post-White House years to enrich themselves and did a lot of good in the world through Habitat. It was nice all the former First Ladies attended.
The Carters remained humble.

The pic of Jimmah with his head leaning back in his wheel chair at Rossalyn's memorial is a heartbreaker. He looks like he is already dead. Life should not be like this. But his and hers were. And I'll never know how he was elected president. Perhaps the msm can comment. Then fast-forward to November 2020. Sounds familiar?

I wasn't a fan of Jimmy Carter's time in the Oval but as #7 indicated that photo of him was indeed heartbreaking. I think that the DM could have reported on the funeral just fine without including it. That photo seems like an invasion of privacy to me. It may very likely be the last one we see and that's how many will remember him --- at his frailest. Who would want to be remembered that way? I think most of us would want to be remembered at our best, IMO.

Pro-Gaza protesters were seen outside the Glenn Memorial Church.
Is there NO occasion these morons won't desecrate!! Are they actually stupid enough to believe they are winning hearts to their cause with these actions???
IMHO, the Secret Service should have chased them off. This was a funeral, nota political rally!!

Look at Iran. Look at pictures of 9/11. Look at Palestine. Look at Minneapolis and Dearborn. And thank Jimmy. He opened up the whole can of worms and then showed weakness before the world. Sorry about his wife and all but he was a disaster and I can’t give a fig about his little corner of suffering because millions of people suffered the death of loved ones because he was reckless, stupid and arrogant.

"Imagine" is John Lennon's musical ode to atheism and Communism. The tone deafness (pun intended) of this being chosen by Brooks and Garwood is appalling. Perhaps Amy, lefty as they come, chose it. So many beautiful traditional hymns, which Mrs. Carter would have sung throughout her Christian life: How Great Thou Art, All Things Bright and Beautiful, Morning Has Been Broken. At least everyone there dressed appropriately. The last funeral I attended in Austin featured 2 attendees in rock & roll T-shirts. It was at a lovely Catholic Church, so we were spared atheistic music.

I’m glad they seemed to have a good marriage like I’m glad my next door neighbors seem to have a good marriage. He was still the worst President in US history, second to Biden now, and I still have no respect for either one of them. RIP

Amy Sweetie, please come up to south central PA. I will take you to my hair stylist. I will pay for you to get a decent hair style.
So....Ldotters, do you think that MO, HRC and jill spend time to today thinking about how they want the funerals for themselves and their husbands to be bigger and grander that Mrs Carter's funeral?
Or do you think they understood the Christian message?
