A federal judge in Louisiana on Tuesday specifically barred President Joe Biden’s press secretary from colluding with corporate tech giants to censor Americans’ speech.
In a preliminary injunction handed down on July 4, Judge Terry Doughty, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, implemented restrictions on collusion between the Biden White House and social media companies. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was among the more than three dozen administration officials specifically named who are now prohibited from engaging in collaborative censorship.

Our national Fourth of July holiday—currently the nation’s 247th since the first in 1776—marks the birth of the United States.
The iconic Declaration of Independence was published on the 4th and largely written by Thomas Jefferson. Its core sentence would become among the most famous words in American history:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” (snip) There was no promise that Americans must be equal in all aspect of their lives—or else.

The “unknown item” found in the West Wing that forced a brief evacuation of the White House Sunday night and drew a hazmat team to the executive mansion initially tested positive for cocaine, according to officials and a dispatch call made that evening. Former Mayor Bill de Blasio and wife Chirlane McCray announced Wednesday that they are splitting after 29 years of marriage — so that they can date other people without living apart or getting divorced.
“I just want to have fun,” McCray — who was living as a lesbian when they met — told the New York Times in a joint interview announcing the split.The couple claimed that the decision came during a heart-to-heart at home about two months ago in which they discussed why they were not “lovey-dovey anymore.”

By now everyone is aware how the corruption in Washington DC is fraught with internecine relationships; however, this one takes the proverbial cake. The prosecutor who organized and signed the plea deal for Hunter Biden worked for Hunter Biden’s business partner.
Senator Ron Johnson is calling attention to Title 28, Section 45.2 of the Code of Federal Regulations, which says: ‘no employee shall participate in a criminal investigation if he has a personal or political relationship with […] any person or organization substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation‘.

As if carrying Homeowners insurance in California and Florida wasn’t already subject to ridiculous increases in premiums, things are about to get a lot worse.
Effective with the July 1st notification, Reinsurance rates, these are companies who insure the insurance companies, are telling their clients there will be up to a 50% increase in cost for underwriting catastrophic coverage. (snip) I suspect the issue amid the reinsurers is partly connected to the issue that surrounds banks and bond rates.
Back when interest rates were near zero, banks and reinsurers likely scooped up lots of Treasuries and bonds. (snip) those bonds have declined in value.

In yet another sweetheart deal, Hunter Biden got off easy in his child support case with ex-fling Lunden Roberts.
As Hunter well knows, his last name is the most valuable thing about him.
It’s “earned” him millions from oligarchs from Kyiv to Beijing.
But because he’s an ass who doesn’t want to recognize his own offspring, his settlement with Roberts means Navy Joan, 4, doesn’t get to be called a Biden.
Mom also gets less money a month — $5,000, down from $20,000.
What little Navy does get is Hunter’s grift.
Yep, proceeds from an undisclosed number of Hunter’s paintings will land in the Roberts bank account,

The prime suspect in the 2007 disappearance of 3-year-old Madeleine McCann allegedly made a chilling claim to a friend shortly after the British toddler’s vanishing made headlines.
“She didn’t even scream,” Christian Brueckner, 45 — a German man named a suspect in the McCann case just over a year ago — allegedly told his friend Hedge B. as the two discussed the case back in 2008.
Hedge B.’s full name has not been released by investigators, but his account was crucial to pinpointing Brueckner as a suspect in the child’s disappearance.

Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is not pleased with her judicial colleagues’ ruling that Harvard and the University of North Carolina’s affirmative action admissions programs are unconstitutional.
“With let-them-eat-cake obliviousness, today, the majority pulls the ripcord and announces ‘colorblindness for all’ by legal fiat,” Jackson insisted in her dissent in the UNC ruling. “But deeming race irrelevant in law does not make it so in life. (snip)
Jackson’s assertion that the Students for Fair Admissions decision is “truly a tragedy for us all” is not the least bit surprising considering that her ascent to the bench reeked of race-based choosing.

On Friday’s “CNN News Central,” CNN Chief Business Correspondent Christine Romans discussed President Joe Biden’s student loan plan that was struck down by the Supreme Court and noted that the plan was really “taxpayers paying off all this student debt, but not addressing the core problem.”
