The Texas state House voted to impeach GOP state Attorney General Ken Paxton by a vote of 121-23 on Saturday, setting up the possibility that he could be removed from office. A conservative warrior in the courts, Paxton has been the subject of high-profile headlines recently that talked about his lawsuits against the Biden administration. More recently, however, the AG seems to have fallen from grace within his own party, as a Republican led panel in the state House approved 20 impeachment articles against him this week. Investigators accused Paxton of a number of misdoings. Among them is an alleged attempt to hide an affair, misusing

There's bluster, virtue singling, and then there's hard reality. (It takes a two-thirds vote in the Texas Senate to convict.)

The hearing was not the impassioned, fierce support for Paxton I was expecting. It looked like the Republican traitors and Dems were a bit better prepared too. Arguments this was unethical, etc. do not hold water with these enemies of Trump, MAGA, conservatives. Just like Trump was impeached twice it was unjust and unconstitutional. We are at WAR.

The vote was 121-23. I voted for Louie Gohmert in the primary. He resigned from the U.S. Congress, and was a member of the House Freedom Congress. If Gov Abbott appoints anyone as successor, or interim while there is a resolution, I would hope it would be Louis Gohmert. I hope Texas Republicans are not making a Nixon mistake, when the Democrats completed a coup of a Republican President that has just won a landslide election. I despise this process, where even the Texas House members said they knew about this proceeding only 2 days prior, and are now voting at the end of this legislative session that expires Monday, are voting on Memorial Day Weekend, when Texas citizens are vacationing, and have not been informed of what is occurring. No evidence has been provided the public, no cross examinations have been made, no witnesses appearing in public, everything done behind closed doors. That is the very definition of railroading.

The POCs (not color) got him impeached. I hope people get a chance to be heard at the trial rather than ram it though on a holiday too. If Dims can't win, they just pose as Republicans. It is hard to weed them out with so much money always supporting them. This is a VERY SAD day for Texas. It will make things much easier for the leftists terrorists in the national government now.

I don't think all but 23 of the Republicans in the Texas House are RINO's or uniparty. Paxton operated as if he was untouchable and abused power with abandon. Hopefully a speedy trial and then good riddance. Then find a person with integrity who can fight Washington with equal energy as Paxton has.

The DOJ is investigating someone who has gone hard and heavy against the Biden Administration. This should send a strong message not to mess with Biden, and clarify that Texas is still the state of George W. Bush.

#6. Good luck finding anyone that the lawyers in Austin won't tear down. For those that don't know, Austin is the Portland of Texas. Expecting government lawyers in Austin Texas to not make up dirt about any Republican AG that is fighting for people is a fool's errand. Paxton has been a great help fighting the invasion from the south and incredibly dangerous overreach from DC. Texas will miss him. No One is perfect, and Paxton certainly isn't. Some may think he is a sorry sob, but he is the Texan's sob. We need him to keep fighting. It would be pretty much impossible to find someone to stand up when they know what is awaiting them from RINOs in Austin. The Chairman of the House insisted once again on putting Democrats in as Chairman of several committees, (tradition you know), just to show how stupid they really are.

Graham said in a statement on Monday that he would "wear the arrest warrant issued by Putin's corrupt and immoral government as a Badge of Honor." "Here's an offer to my Russian 'friends' who want to arrest and try me for calling out the Putin regime as being war criminals: I will submit to jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court if you do. Moscow was attacked this morning by suspected Ukrainian kamikaze drones just hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin unleashed yet another volley of strikes on Kyiv. Several buildings were damaged in wealthy suburbs of Moscow, including the elite district of Rublyovka to the south-west of the capital. One drone exploded into a mushroom cloud near the village of Usovo, which is just down the road from Putin's official Novo-Ogaryovo residence outside of the capital. '[Putin's residence] would be in earshot of the explosion,' one local said. In the city, explosive drones struck blocks of flats in Leninsky Prospekt and Profsoyuznaya Street about six miles from the centre of Moscow, reportedly wounding

China declined a US request for Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin to meet his counterpart Li Shangfu in Singapore this week, part of what the Pentagon called a “concerning unwillingness” to engage in military discussions. The US defence department “believes strongly in the importance of maintaining open lines of military-to-military communication between Washington and Beijing to ensure that competition does not veer into conflict”, Pentagon Press Secretary Brigadier General Pat Ryder said in a statement on Monday. The US had proposed in May that the two defence officials meet at the Shangri-La Dialogue that is set to take place in Singapore.

Top leaders in both parties reached a long-sought deal on Saturday to avoid an unprecedented government default, announcing an agreement on a plan to lift the debt ceiling immediately and apply new caps on federal spending in the name of curbing deficits, according to sources familiar. To get there, negotiators had to iron out their differences on a small but crucial list of outstanding issues that had dogged the talks in recent days, including lower spending levels, new work requirements for social benefit programs and permitting reforms to expedite approval of energy infrastructure projects — three Republican demands that were opposed by most Democrats.

The idea that polluters should pay reparations for climate change is gaining steam among advocates. Some environmentalists and academics argue the companies or states that are most significantly contributing to the climate crisis should be made to compensate the people bearing the brunt of its impacts. Advocates have been calling for such reparations for years, especially since evidence emerged that fossil fuel companies were aware of the impact of carbon emissions. But the idea is now more practically achievable due to scientific advances, said Adrien Salazar, policy director at the nonprofit Grassroots Global Justice. He pointed to the increased sophistication

Now that Ron DeSantis has entered the race for the GOP presidential nomination, former President Trump and many of his supporters have accused the Florida governor of disloyalty. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, for example, has suggested that DeSantis’ political ambitions have caused him to lose sight of “values like loyalty.” The basis for this claim is that DeSantis somehow owes Trump a 21st century version of feudal fealty because the latter endorsed him during Florida’s 2018 gubernatorial race. This kind of nonsense plays into the hands of the Democrats.
