AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton teetered on the brink of impeachment Thursday after years of scandal, criminal charges and corruption accusations that the state’s Republican majority had largely met with silence until now. In an unanimous decision, a Republican-led House investigative committee that spent months quietly looking into Paxton recommended impeaching the state’s top lawyer. The House could vote on the recommendation as soon as Friday. If it impeaches Paxton, he would be forced to leave office immediately. The move sets set up what could be a remarkably sudden downfall

How dare Paxton fight voter fraud and "woke" in Texas along with fighting to help keep the federal government in line with the constitution! The same charges and accusations come up with any politician silly enough to fight for voters. If there is one of these other politicians try to impeach Paxton that have behaved themselves perfectly, that would be a real surprise. Rino's and Dims in Texas are no different than on the Federal level. What really go this going was Paxton standing up for Texas against possible election fraud in 2020 and trying to get it investigated before the election. Meanwhile, Dems in local offices (Harris and Dallas county, etc.) can continue their illegal and unconstitutional activities without the pesky Texas AG office stopping them when they get rid of Paxton gone.

Texans will be infinitely worse off if these *ssholes succeed in removing Paxton. I guess this goes to show just how extensive the reach of the rinos who infest the republican party truly are. Proof? How about this FTA: "Committee members did not reveal details about the articles of impeachment when they voted to approve them in open session and a copy had not been made public by Thursday evening. The timing of a vote by the House also is unclear. Rep. Andrew Murr, the Republican chair of the investigative committee, said he did not have a timeline and Phelan’s office declined to comment. Unlike in Congress, impeachment in Texas requires immediate removal from office until a trial is held in the Senate. Republican Gov. Greg Abbott could appoint an interim replacement. It means Paxton faces ouster at the hands of GOP lawmakers just seven months after easily winning a third term over challengers — among them George P. Bush — who had urged voters to reject a compromised incumbent but discovered that many didn’t know about Paxton’s litany of alleged misdeeds or dismissed the accusations as political attacks." It's an *ss Press article, so they definitely look favorably on ANYTHING a bushie wants/does, and anything to sabotage Conservatives.

Lone Star State politics on display— The House removed a Representative from office for moral and ethical activity, and now they are going after Attorney General Ken Paxton. The timing is curious as the bi-ennial Legislative session is at its end with SO MANY BILLS LEFT UNPASSED in the House while the Senate swiftly took care of business and sent its legislation to the House. Speaker Dad Phelan seemingly has “slow walked” items by picked the winners and losers of bills to be considered, and quickly gained the ire of the “base” of the Party largely IGNORING a list of “legislative priorities” determined at the 2021 RPT Convention. He survives by working with the Dems and walks away from controversial legislative matters. His biggest sin against the “base” of those who attended the State Convention in June of 2021 has been to appoint DEMOCRAT Chairs of Committees who BLOCK legislation by not bringing up bills in their Committees or sending bills approved to the Calendars committee for a final vote. Paxton called for Phelan’s resignation for failing to promote those issues dear to “the Party” while there are calls for Paxton to be impeached and removed. The Party itself is waging an internal conflict as the Leadership and the State Republican Executive Committee are often at odds with the TRUE BASE of the party and are trying to take over the local County parties from within. Much of this stems from old wounds from the 2020 Primary when DonHuffines and former Party Chairman Lt. Col. Allen West failed to unseat current Governor Greg Abbott. Ccurrent Chairman Matt Rinaldi was once a member of Huffine’s team. Eva Guzman, a worthy candidate who resigned from the Texas Supreme Court to run against Paxton but was defeated is waiting in the wings, should Paxton be removed.

Joe Biden doesn’t seem to give a darn about debt negotiations or our economic status. First, he refused to even talk with Republicans for 97 days. But since he has been talking, he doesn’t want to cut anything, he just wants to keep spending us into the poor house. He’s completely in the thrall of the leftist wing of his party and they don’t want him to agree with the Republicans. Unfortunately for the Democrats, Americans want cuts and they see Joe Biden as the obstacle here. The Republicans already passed a bill, it’s Biden who isn’t getting it done and Americans see it.

The decision ends a yearslong battle between the Sacketts and the federal government and is a victory for conservative groups and business interests opposed to the broad application

However, the White House evaded an increasingly contentious debate over how to define antisemitism, avoiding a clear endorsement of a mainstream, widely accepted definition while simultaneously welcoming an alternative pushed by progressives who argue the former doesn't allow sufficient space to criticize Israel, the world's only Jewish state. The 60-page document details four pillars that undergird the strategy: increasing awareness and understanding of antisemitism and appreciation of Jewish American heritage,

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., slammed the Supreme Court's ruling Thursday that limited the Environmental Protection Agency's ability to regulate bodies of water, calling it a "MAGA" court even though the decision was 9-0. On Thursday, the high court issued an opinion that narrowed the EPA's broad definition of Waters of the United States (WOTUS). The court said the federal government must define WOTUS as a water source with a "continuous surface connection" to major bodies of water. The decision upended an attempt by the Biden administration to regulate wetlands, lakes, ponds, streams and other "relatively permanent" waterways, which had relied on a broad reading of the EPA's authority

The current reports of executive branch illegality make Watergate look like kindergarten mischief. It is clear from the Durham report and the work of House Republican hearings that the current scandals in the Biden White House – and senior bureaucracies at the Justice Department, IRS, and elsewhere – are much deeper and more cancerous than Watergate ever was. It may be hard to remember, but Watergate came about due to a weird, dumb, and fairly narrow set of criminal behaviors which mushroomed into 69 officials being indicted and 48 imprisoned. I remember Watergate vividly, because I first ran for Congress in 1974 during the Watergate scandal.
