Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida brought in $8.2 million in fundraising during the 24 hours after he declared his candidacy for president, his campaign announced on Thursday. The announcement by the DeSantis campaign is a move to exhibit the energy and enthusiasm for the Florida governor as he enters a GOP 2024 nomination race where former President Donald Trump is the clear front-runner in the latest polling. DeSantis declared his candidacy for president on Wednesday in a campaign launch video first reported by Fox News. That announcement was quickly followed evening following an extremely rocky rollout by DeSantis in an appearance on Twitter with business magnate

He can raise all the money he wants, many before him have, remember Jeb. His announcement was a disaster on every level. I was shocked this was so amateurish, like high school kids putting on a play in their parents garage. DeSantis is a very intelligent man, your announcement is a big part of the campaign, how did he screw it up so badly!

I feel bad about this because I really liked DeSantis. Were these donations large ones? If so, is it because he's a Bush protege? Our were there millions of small donations from "the people" the way Trump's were? Does DeSantis have a huge national following yet? I'd rather see him finish the job he started in Florida and get a solid long term Conservative resume' and be seasoned and ready for 2024, than, have him jump in now and we throw our support behind him only to learn things that cause us another massive disappointment in the long run.

That small amount of money is just a candy allowance considering it is coming from people with TDS, RINOs, leftist billionaires and democrats who would love to knock Trump out of the top spot. IIRC, Warnock received the same sort of windfall to "win" in Georgia. Good luck with that. MAGA

Of course he did, the GOPe made sure of it. Let’s see if he can he reel in the base? I don’t think so. Americans are sick of a top down government. It has done nothing but cause corruption and horrific decisions for the American people. We need someone who knows the worth of the forgotten people who actually make the country work. We are sick of getting the crumbs that are brushed off the tables by the smug elites. We want our country back and that will not happen with the same old mindset that got us here in the first place. The MAGA Movement bypassed the status quo and actually gave the people a real voice. I am not going back to voting for these people. What is the point when they are unwilling to articulate an agenda that puts the country and its people first. I am tired of funding the rich and powerful only to have them betray us.

Recent high-profile and controversial marketing decisions by Target and Bud Light are backfiring and burning shareholders in the process to the tune of a combined $28 billion. "These are both cases where brands have gotten in the middle of some really controversial issues," said Timothy Calkins, associate chair of the marketing department at Northwestern Kellogg, in an interview with FOX Business. "I think we'll see more brands be very cautious about getting into the middle of some of these really controversial issues," he noted. The entrepreneur’s account has been blocked for more than a week over three posts deemed offensive by LinkedIn, specifically: “The CCP is playing the Biden administration like a Chinese mandolin.” “If the climate religion was really about climate change, then they’d be worried about, say, shifting oil production from the U.S. to places like Russia and China.” “The climate agenda is a lie

Joe Biden doesn’t seem to give a darn about debt negotiations or our economic status. First, he refused to even talk with Republicans for 97 days. But since he has been talking, he doesn’t want to cut anything, he just wants to keep spending us into the poor house. He’s completely in the thrall of the leftist wing of his party and they don’t want him to agree with the Republicans. Unfortunately for the Democrats, Americans want cuts and they see Joe Biden as the obstacle here. The Republicans already passed a bill, it’s Biden who isn’t getting it done and Americans see it.

The number of myocarditis and pericarditis events in that age group met the threshold for a safety signal, the researchers reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association on May 22.
