Ron DeSantis's wife has kicked off his 2024 campaign with a stirring video showing the Florida governor preparing to take the stage, accompanied by a voiceover proclaiming that America is worth fighting for.
Casey DeSantis tweeted: 'America is worth the fight... Every. Single. Time.'
She shared a 30-second video, showing her husband backstage, preparing to address an audience at a huge hanger draped with a Stars and Stripes.

#9, But it didn’t have to be this way. To those of you who think DeSantis is going to be playing clean up after the dems indict Trump, it’s a bad move. It would have been a better move to support Trump and then if the worst happens, he could step in and pick up the mantle. With this stunt DeSantis is proving he is not ready for prime time. He is disloyal and completely tone deaf. Regardless how much his wife wants to be First Lady (the rumor is out there that she is the driving force) the base is not going to go along with it. Ron is coming off as a creation of the GOPe, not authentic but very ambitious.

#10, given that line of thinking, then the same could be said of Donald Trump. Most of Donald Trump's life he lived as a liberal. He even attended Chelsea Clinton's wedding. So in 2016, when Hillary Clinton thinks she has a good chance of becoming President of the USA, Donald Trump is on the other side of the spectrum. And then he has the nerve to win the election. No wonder why we have the catfight that America is experiencing especially with the finding of the Durham report. Soooooo, I really do not understand Donald Trump's beef with Ron DeSantis. . .

I'd gladly vote for President Trump. I'd also gladly vote for Governor DeSantis if he becomes our candidate. Why must one be forever against one of these candidates if you happen to favor the other? It's foolish and childish. And it will ultimately guarantee a victory for the Democrats. Not very smart or mature.

Ron DeSantis has the right to run for the nomination whether he wins or not. That’s on him. But to start vilifying his wife is disgusting. That’s what liberals do.

I do not care that DT was/is a Liberal or what women he has been with or what nonsense he says at times. What I care about is how he, with one hand tied behind his back, improved America as POTUS. He wasn't perfect but he was the best POTUS since RR. His overall record as POTUS tells me I need, I must, vote for him. As for Ron, seems as if he used Florida to get to DC. Two years as a Gov. doesn't prove much to me. But hey, that is me. It is just too bad the GOP couldn't get behind one man to make sure the Left would be defeated. Ego and greed isn't very pretty. You all have a blessed day.

#19, and that is the difference between you and me - I am fighting for America and her creator. Yes, I agree that Donald Trump is fighting for America but it isn't just his fight and, at times, his ego makes it seem like it is all about him. Let me explain. He may be fighting for America but he is also fighting with people unnecessarily and often with people on the same side of the argument. Politicians come and go but God doesn't.
I am fighting for America and her soul.

#21 just FYI... DeSantis is in his 2nd term as governor.
Trump proved himself to be the best president of my lifetime, and I will continue to support him. However, I think it is a huge mistake to make DeSantis the enemy, as Trump and some on this site are doing. I will support whoever wins the Republican primary, no question.

Everything DeSantis and his campaign says can be better achieved under Candidate Trump. Best place for DeSantis right now is VP in the Trump ticket. That is what the country needs and is demanding. I hope both men pay heed. DeSantis' main fear that if he associates with Trump and loses, his career is finished is unfounded IMO.

What do you want to bet the the dems have promised the GOPe that if DeSantis is the nominee, they won’t cheat this time. And, like the fools they are, the Republicans will believe them. Very Karl Rove.

I agree with #28, but I think the GOPe is in on it. They and the dems decide who should win, and with all the control they have over vote numbers, it's not difficult to pull off. One of the best moments was when President Donald Trump fooled them in 2016 and they didn't have enough cheat set up. It's possible that GOPe and dems have decided and arranged that DeSantis will win not only because he's with them, but that's the only way to stop PDJT.

Sadly, this, indeed, is a “bad move” [thank you, #10, Rinktum (and maybe sometime share the story behind your name), and those here who agree.
Many of us have learned the hard way, that “timing is crucial.” [Brother and I learned it from wise parents and also from our tap-dancing and singing teachers!]
Ron needs wife to focus on their young children and stay focused on Florida for a few more years. Ron also has listened to Club for Growth and Rove who hate DJT more than they love America. Personally, there is no way we Conservatives would consider voting for you now, Ron.
Show some respect for all that President Trump has already done For America, despite years of lies. Read the Durham Report. Then read President Trumps new plans.
He’s a visionary builder, developer, remember!
MAGA

#16. As Mrs. DeSantis has entered the political fray alongside her husband, she's fair game.
I agree with other posters that DeSantis isn't quite ready for prime time, and he has questionable backers.
I'll vote for the Real President Trump in the primary, and whoever is the Republican nominee in the General Election.
It would be hard to find a Republican worse than Biden but I'm sure they are out there.

here we go again
"It's my turn!"
"No! It's MY turn!"
"NO!!! It's MY turn!"
"No, It's my turn."
And meanwhile, the Dem/Left is laughing. Presidency there for the plucking. Ready to "win" (or, steal) the next election. The old Leninist maxim of Iron-Fisted Rule Over the Party and Anti-factionalism (odious as it is for purists with starry-eyed visions of "democracy"), works, when the rubber meets the road. They have Party Unity. They get the power, and they know how to use it.
The hub of the Constitutional Wheel is Justice is blind; All are equal under the Law; Justice for All. It's virtually gone.
Republicans shouldn't boast about the Big Tent dems drove them into! This tent is a circus.
I will not sit out. I will vote.
One more term for Dems and our Republic is almost certainly gone, and this if we can make it until then. The Founders had higher expectations.
Sorry, Dr. Franklin, we just couldn't keep it.

President Donald Trump is, by far, the best POTUS of my lifetime. In addition to doing a great job with the economy and foreign affairs he is also entertaining. But, I have two reservations about him. One, age. He is 76. If he makes it into the White House in Jan 2025 he'll be 78. It doesn't matter how smart you are, if you live long enough your brain will turn into mush. Two, baggage. PT has more baggage than Delta Airlines. But, if I make it to Nov 2024. I will vote for whoever or whomever is the nominee of the GOP. After 4 years of Quid Pro Joe MAGA is too lofty a goal. We are so close to the Third World I'll take MAMA, Make America Mediocre Again.
