One of the themes of local races during the 2020 election was “parental rights.” Despite Hillary Clinton’s idiotic “it takes a village” viewpoint, most Americans believe parents are the final arbiter over their children unless they are demonstrably and dangerously unfit. The US Supreme Court has stated, “the interest of parents in the care, custody and control of their children—is perhaps the oldest of the fundamental liberty interests recognized by this Court.”

My wife and I raised 4 kids, homeschooled them through high school and they are all successful, hard working, adults now. From what I've seen & ward from these moonbats in the schools, I beg to differ with the Minister of Indoctrination.

As the Gipper famously said "There they go again". Your children don't belong to you seems to be the meme for this summer.

Most of the teachers with whom I have had interaction know what is best for them, a fat paycheck and membership in a union that exists to see that they are overpaid and follow the rules of wokeness, DEI and ensuring that students do not learn too much for their own good.

Wanting to transition any child's sex into something they were not born as is IMO proof that the parent is demonstrably and dangerously unfit.

When my son was in high school, one of his teachers made an appointment with us, his parents, to tell us we were too involved in our son’s life and kept too close tabs on him. I politely (well, sort of) told her to mind her own business). Today her son is in prison for the umpteenth time on drug-related charges, and mine is a fine upstanding citizen, happily married, with a large family. Yeah, teachers know better. Right.

Eliminating the DOE would be a great start along getting rid of the teachers unions. Oh, the money we could save. It would also help if all of the curriculum in the schools was available for all parents to see.

Wow, someone might say this could be used in a political advertisement by the GOP in the upcoming 2024 election.
Cardona's comments are part of that "we're the professionals, thus, we know better" scam.
It implies that college education people are smarter and know more, must therefore, know better than you.
Teachers in Los Angeles Unified will now make an average of $106,000 per year (8 months) based on the new contract they just secured. LAUSD is one of the lowest performing school districts in the State of California. My Son in-law used to teach in that area, and the lack of parental involvement was staggeringly low, which translated into lack of motivation by students. Those are the parents who are easily swayed by those comments from Cardona, and other education authorities.
Didn't GWB say something like "the soft bigotry of low expectations"?

Too many teachers today are dangerous propaganda sellers, not actually teachers.
