President Joe Biden on Sunday said he would consider using the 14th amendment to solve America's debt limit but conceded it is probably too close to the June 1st default deadline to use it in this round.
'I'm looking at the 14th Amendment as whether or not we have the authority,' he said at a press conference in Hiroshima.
'I think we have the authority. The question is could it be done and invoked in time that it would not be appealed and, as a consequence, pass the date in question and still default on the debt?'

Let’s always use the the most uncertain method to create the greatest possible uncertainty!!
Like Obumbum care. There was a 50/50 chance it was unconstitutional but it only affects 1/7 of the national economy.
Big bidet wants to go big! 100% of the national economy and 100% of the world economy.
As obumbum said “never underestimate Joe’s ability to f everything up!”

Chances are Biden (Obama) and the leftist Democrats, if the truth be known, are probably out there now sniffing out a leftist Federal Judge who will OK Biden (Obama) being able to hide behind some radical 14th Amendment ruling to tie the issue up in the courts.

Crooked and criminal, the Dems' standard approach. Nothing in the 14th gives the Executive this power, and the Constitution specifically gives ONLY the House, not the Senate, not the Executive and NEVER the Executive Branch or Judicial Branch "power of the purse".
Absolutely unconstitutional - but that hasn't slowed them down in other unconstitutional moves before this.

Almost every time the impatient and petulant dims change the rules they get burned - like DJT's 3 Supremes. If the bidet does this I can only hope the country lasts long enough to see the dims get screwed again.

The 14th Amendment was passed in order to give some teeth to the 13th Amendment (prohibiting slavery). The Southern Democrats were not trusted to comply with the 13th (much less in spirit), which they conclusively demonstrated for 100 years after the Civil War. Nevertheless, the Left has been using the 14th as a club to force its despotic will over the rest of us, making the amendment the civil rights version of the "Commerce Clause", the enforcement of which has been labelled as "wide enough for a truck to drive through." For a far, far more intellectual discussion of this topic, look for any video of Justice Scalia eviscerating the modern-day abuse of the 14th Amendment.

This is how this would play out. Under the 14th, paying for debt is constitutional. Paying for debt by incurring more debt is not constitutional, unless approved by congress. Biden could order that the debt payments be paid for by cutting government spending.
Legally invoking the 14th could be a win win.

He...and his congressional pals have KNOWN what the debt ceiling was since BEFORE he got (s)elected. It was firmly reset after they lost the House.
What he SHOULD have been "considering" is actually budgeting and spending to live within the Legal Parameters of that Debt Ceiling, instead of spending like Hunter on a Binge...and expecting "Daddy" to cover the difference.

One of the two of us, Joe, fails to read the clear text of 14 that lays the full responsibility on Congress. Bet you an impeachment that my reading is correct. Get your thumb of the scale and let Congress do its jub

“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”
“If I could make an arrangement where I had a stand-in, a frontman or frontwoman, and they had an earpiece in, and I was just in my basement in my sweats, looking through the stuff, then deliver the lines, but somebody else was doing all the talking — I’d be fine with that,” Obama said. I am very confident that when Senile Joe bidet was handed that comment card to read by his handlers, he probably flubbed half the words and didn't have a clue what any of it meant.
But, hey, all he does know is that if he reads what he is handed in even a semi-understandable way, that nice lady (Dr. Jill) will pat his tummy, say "good boy Joey", and give him extra milk and cookies before his next nap!!! For a senile old fool like bidet, that is about as good as life gets these days!!!

From the CONSTITUTION, 14th amendment Section 5 ... The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
Not the President. Maybe Joe hasn't read the 14th, you think ?

If Biden can use this 14th Amendment "gimmick" to violate the debt ceiling, then we never had a debt ceiling (after the 14th Amendment adopted) and we never will.
For the record, e never would have been in this debt situation if America had elected 16 year old me President for Life back in the 1980s.

Just ANOTHER mockery of the Rule of Law and finding some way to IGNORE or make some sort of gambit to GO AROUND the RESTRICTIONS OF the law hoping they can slip another bad thing by the American people so they aren’t called out for treason

Didn't know Biden ever read the Constitution or could count to fourteen. Maybe he could get Fetterman to help him.

Even a legal luddite such as myself can see from the reading of the 14th amendment that there is nothing in it to justify Biden. Not a bit.
