As migrants cross illegally into the U.S. from Canada at historically high levels, U.S. officials have begun flying migrants apprehended at the northern border south to Texas. To date, at least two flights — one on March 13 to Harlingen, Texas, and another on March 21 to El Paso — have departed from Plattsburgh, New York, carrying a total of 82 migrants expelled under the Covid ban known as Title 42, a Customs and Border Protection spokesperson told NBC News. The flights were first reported by Reuters. The flights come as the number of illegal border crossings in the Swanton Sector of the U.S. border, which covers

Remember when “Don’t mess with Texas” meant something? As invaders march boldly into Texas across its border the tough slogan has become as ridiculous as the “These colors don’t run” slogan on T-shirts whose wearers docilely shuffle shoeless through airport security checkpoints hoping they won’t be patted down.

There is NO excuse, NO rationale, NO reason for this outrage to continue OTHER THAN to cause more confusion, violence, destruction, impoverishment, chaos. The doddering demagogue ought to be facing impeachment right now for failure to protect and defend the United States of America.

WASHINGTON — Ron DeSantis may be missing his moment. A number of the Florida governor’s donors and allies are worried his recent stumbles suggest he may not be ready for a brutal fight against Donald Trump. Some feel DeSantis needs to accelerate his timeline to run for the GOP presidential nomination and begin directly confronting Trump if he's to have any chance of thwarting the former president’s momentum. Others believe DeSantis should sidestep Trump altogether and wait until 2028 to run. At a Sunday luncheon following the annual Red Cross ball in Palm Beach, Florida, a group of 16 prominent Republicans, described by one attendee as a mix of DeSantis backers

Former President Donald Trump trashed Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) at the first rally of his 2024 presidential campaign in Waco, Texas, on Saturday night. Trump hit DeSantis on a number of fronts, including Social Security, Medicare, and the coronavirus pandemic, but his harshest criticism came on the issue of loyalty. Trump recounted that an emotional DeSantis approached him during Florida’s 2018 gubernatorial primary race against Adam Putnam and essentially begged for an endorsement to help land the nomination: But I’m a loyalist, and when a man comes to me, tears in his eyes, he’s at almost nothing in the polls, and he’s fighting somebody that’s at 42 [percent],

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis explained on Thursday that he is "more of an executive guy" in response to a question about whether or not he would join a potential ticket as former President Trump’s running mate come 2024. "I think I’m probably more of an executive guy," the governor told Newsmax. "I think that you want to be able to do things. That’s part of the reason I got into this job is because we have action." "We’re able to make things happen, and I think that’s probably what I am best suited for," said DeSantis. The leader was also asked if he would want Trump

Waco - A defiant and incendiary Donald Trump, facing a potential indictment, held the first rally of his 2024 presidential campaign Saturday in Waco, Texas, a city made famous by deadly resistance against law enforcement. In an extraordinary display, Trump opened his rally by playing a song, “Justice for All,” that features a choir of men imprisoned for their role in the Jan. 6, 2021, deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol singing the national anthem and a recording of Trump reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Some footage from the insurrection was shown on screens. Trump, in a speech brimming with resentments

The story was published in The Independent last week. When I read the hit piece against DeSantis last week, I thought to myself that it is just another story meant to ding DeSantis up before he announces his candidacy for the Republican nomination for president. It seems that every day brings a new story or two from Democrats or Trump loyalists who are attempting to keep DeSantis out of the primary. Ron DeSantis has pioneered a new strategy in dealing with the press. Namely, he largely ignores them. For years, outlets like CNN and The New York Times have relied on access to politicians they despise and constantly smear. And for years, Republicans have played along, believing they need the publicity in order to communicate with the American public. Even Donald Trump, famously adversarial with the press, has continued to give interviews to people like Maggie Haberman and Bob Woodward. DeSantis has chosen another path, not even bothering to give his political enemies, which the press obviously are, the free material.

Hollywood, specifically the film industry, is going through a legitimate, serious, and potentially fatal phase. No one likes the movies anymore. The key to a healthy industry—audience goodwill—is evaporating quickly. Sure, there have been some recent hits.
