Amazon will lay off 9,000 more employees in the coming weeks, CEO Andy Jassy said in a memo to staff on Monday. The cuts are on top of the previously announced layoffs that began in November and extended into January. That round affected more than 18,000 employees. Amazon made the decision to lay off more employees as it looks to streamline costs. It took into account the economy, as well as the "uncertainty that exists in the near future," Jassy said. The company just wrapped up the second phase of its annual budgeting process, referred to internally as "OP2." "The overriding tenet of our annual planning this year

Who are the AWS employees that are being fired? Yet, they are hiring international students fresh out of college to AWS, who are neither residents nor US citizens? This move by Amazon make no sense unless they are hiring cheap labor using H1b visas

Amazon is cutting corners everywhere. I am not saying that they are going broke but they have hundreds of thousands of deceased members and accounts that are no longer used. The interest is no longer what it was when it was fresh and faddish. I think the advertisers are wising up and their advertising isn't drawing the customers. Another "tell". I have been an Amazon Prime customer for years. At first, their free shipping made it worthwhile, but lately I have noticed that their products are priced higher than other online businesses. If you go directly to the manufacturer's website, you usually pay shipping. Amazon's price for the same product is roughly higher and matching the shipping price. They are burying the shipping cost in the product price. It indicates to me that the bloom is off the Amazon rose and management is scrambling to reduce costs.

Jeff Bezos can always use the following excuse: Well, you all wanted Biden and the Democrats to have billionaires and corporations to pay their "fair share" in taxes. This is what happens when you charge corporations and the wealthy excessive tax rates. People lose their jobs due to less money available to expand the company, for wages, benefits, leading to less employee retention. This also leads to people having less money to spend on the products and services that we sell. This leads to us needing less employees and products to sell. This leads to even further layoffs. You got you higher taxes on corporations and "the rich". You also got yourselves taxed right out of your jobs and a weaker economy. Hope you are all happy. oh, and I am still rich...

So far, these cuts amount to 1.7 percent of amazon's workforce. Hard to imagine what 1.6 million employees spend their time doing in this age of automation and technology. By the way, there is still no Prime account at this household.

What they aren't disclosing is the number of hires they WON'T be making, the number of employees quitting and the number of departments and programs they are terminating. Clearly, that number vastly exceeds 9,000. Likely closer to 100,000.

I'm guessing no. Conservative policy may cause some inconvenience to those who do not care about humanity but progressive policy inconveniences and cheats everybody.

If you were one of those people hoping that the presidential primary season would hold off a few more months, I regret to inform you that the gloves are good and fully off. Donald Trump has been savaging Ron DeSantis (up to and including suggesting he’s a pedophile) for months, but up to this point, the Florida governor had held his fire. That is no more after DeSantis did an interview with Fox Nation in which he finally responded to some of Trump’s jabs. It’s only March, so I’m going to do my best to not get in the weeds yet. There will be a time for choosing eventually, but for now,

Scenes like those shown in this video from WPIX in New York: We’ve seen the stories of massive amounts of fentanyl seized at our porous southern border… and the alarming uptick in overdose rates. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) held a press conference with Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) in early March to announce his intention to introduce legislation that would designate Mexican drug cartels as “Foreign Terrorist Organizations,” setting the stage for the use of U.S. military force to combat them, noting:

The authors of the CDC report wrote that the fungus “has continued to cause illness and death

Donald Trump will likely be indicted on Wednesday but won’t appear before a judge in New York until next week, DailyMail.com has learned.
