The two brothers who were paid by actor Jussie Smollett to orchestrate a fake hate crime had a message for the country about its "ramifications." Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, nicknamed Bola and Ola, apologized for their role in the 2019 hoax, saying they agreed to Smollett’s terms because they wanted to use his connections as a prominent actor to help them in their own careers. "I just first want to apologize to everyone in the audience, the country and anyone who might have been affected by this directly. When we were asked to partake in this, we really didn't foresee the ramifications

Tony Blair: Putin can't use Iraq to justify
Ukraine invasion

Russia's invasion of Ukraine cannot be equated with the US-led invasion of Iraq, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair said Saturday, ahead of the 20th anniversary of the conflict that toppled Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. Blair said Moscow's forces had invaded "a country that has a democratically elected president who, to my knowledge, has never started a regional conflict or committed any aggression against its neighbors." The former British leader said Saddam Hussein, on the other hand, had brutalized his own people, engaged in two wars in violation of international law and used chemical weapons to kill 12,000 people in a single day.

If Democrats really wanted Donald Trump to fade away, as they claim, then they would stop persecuting him. Maybe they are so blinded by hatred that they can’t see that every time they use the heavy hand of the law against the former president, they just cement his status as MAGA martyr. Or maybe they are so terrified of running against Ron DeSantis in 2024, that they actually want to martyr Trump to ensure he wins the Republican presidential primary ready for a repeat contest with Joe Biden. In that scenario, Democratic prosecutors in New York and Georgia, and a partisan DOJ, play the role of picadors

“With the law books filled with a great assortment of crimes, a prosecutor stands a fair chance of finding at least a technical violation of some act on the part of almost anyone. In such a case, it is not a question of discovering the commission of a crime and then looking for who has committed it, it is a question of picking the man and then searching the law books, or putting investigators to work, to pin some offense on him. It is in this realm — in which the prosecutor picks some person whom he dislikes or desires to embarrass, or selects some group of unpopular persons

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has called on his country to be ready to launch a nuclear attack to deter war as he accused the U.S. and South Korea of carrying out military drills with American nuclear assets, according to state media. Kim's remarks, carried on state media KCNA, came after the Hermit Kingdom launched a short-range ballistic missile toward the sea on Sunday. The missile flew across the country and landed in the sea off its east coast, according to South Korean and Japanese assessments – which reported that the missile traveled a distance of about 500 miles.

President Joe Biden has repeatedly denied that his family received money from China. He has also denied any knowledge of his son’s foreign dealings despite direct evidence to the contrary, including a recorded message from the President to Hunter referencing the deals. The White House has simply refused to address the recording or photographs contradicting the President. Now, there is confirmation that millions were sent from China and then money from a third-party account was distributed to at least three, and possibly four, Biden family members. However, when confronted with the evidence on the way to Marine One, the President again declared “that’s not true.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are allegedly demanding a place on the Buckingham Palace balcony during King Charles’ coronation — and an acknowledgment during the festivities of their two young kids, according to a report. The requests, and the couple’s apparent holding out until their wishes are granted, may throw the historic event into “chaos,” royal insiders fear. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex — who recently received their invitations to the May 6 ceremony — are still mulling over whether or not they will make the 5,459-mile-long trip. If they do go, the exiled royals will be met with a “cold shoulder” from senior members of the royal family

Shortly after former President Donald Trump announced he expects to be arrested, U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said Republicans don't need to protest the possible pending arrest because the "communist Democrats" have sealed their fate. The representative from Georgia took to her professional Twitter account multiple times on Saturday to share her thoughts on Trump's Truth Social post where he said illegal leaks from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office have led him to believe he will be arrested on Tuesday

“The moment that we are waiting for, we made it to the finale together” — those familiar words from “America’s Got Talent” — could well be the opening line for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg next week, when he is expected to unveil an indictment of former President Trump. With Trump’s reported announcement that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday, it would be a fitting curtain raiser for a case that has developed more like a television production than a criminal prosecution. Indeed, this indictment was repeatedly rejected only to be brought back by popular demand.

President Joe Biden and his many defenders have a penchant for blaming the many catastrophes that have happened on his watch on somebody or something else. Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, China, the Taliban, MAGA Republicans and greedy corporations. Take your pick. According to the commander in chief, he bears no responsibility for the past 26 months. The buck apparently doesn’t stop in the Biden Oval Office. But when it comes to the economy, and, in particular, inflation, Biden can’t run away from reality.

The lawsuit filed against Fox News by Dominion Voting Services, set to go to trial on April 17, may turn out to be a seminal case in First Amendment jurisprudence, with effects that reach well beyond Fox. In a nutshell, Dominion charges that Fox defamed them by putting on air people who claimed that Dominion’s voting machines yielded incorrect results, to the benefit of Joe Biden. More than this, the plaintiffs have secured, through depositions, evidence that Fox News hosts and news executives themselves disbelieved the claims their on-air guests were making. For all that, the irony surrounding this case abounds. If Americans have learned anything during the past six years

When Constantinople finally fell to the Ottomans on Tuesday, May 29, 1453, the Byzantine Empire and its capital had up to that point survived for 1,000 years beyond the fall of the Western Empire at Rome. Always outnumbered in a sea of enemies, the Byzantines' survival had depended on its realist diplomacy of dividing its enemies, avoiding military quagmires, and ensuring constant deterrence. Generations of self-sacrifice ensured ample investment for infrastructure. Each generation inherited and improved on singular aqueducts and cisterns, sewer systems, and the most complex and formidable city fortifications in the world.

Ron DeSantis attacked 'Soros-funded' prosecutor Alvin Bragg for creating a 'manufactured circus' in his first comments on rumors Donald Trump will be indicted. The Florida governor made the comments Monday after Trump's inner circle criticized him for staying silent on claims the former president will be arrested in the Stormy Daniels hush money case on Tuesday. It offers a dilemma to Trump's likely rivals for the Republican 2024 nomination: Do they take the opportunity to bash the former president for his indiscretions, or do they steer clear for fear of alienating the vocal, restless party base?

The mayor of Miami Beach wants to cancel Spring Break as footage emerged of the moment a man was shot dead on a sidewalk during another wild weekend of partying. 'We haven’t asked for spring break in our city. We don’t want spring break in our city. The chaotic weekend saw two men shot dead and partygoers jumping on a car, brawling in streets and even trashing a slushie shop on the main drag despite the city instituting a curfew on Sunday night. WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, the chamber's No. 2 Democrat, said on Sunday that he will quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19, adding to a number of lawmakers from both parties who have been absent from the Senate. "Thankfully, I am fully vaccinated and boosted and only experiencing minor symptoms," Durbin said in a tweet. The Illinois Democrat said he would follow Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, which call for five days of quarantine for those who test positive. Two other Democrats, Senators Dianne Feinstein and John Fetterman, have been absent from the Senate for health reasons. Senate
