Federal prosecutors are eyeing charges against more than 1,000 individuals who may have participated in the January 6th, 2021 riots at the Capitol building.
The United States Attorney in Washington sent a letter this week to the chief justice for DC’s federal court system stating that prosecutors overseen by US Attorney General Merrick Garland may bring between 700 and 1,200 new individuals into the justice system, according to Bloomberg News. The staggering figure represents approximately a doubling of prosecutions sought in connection with the event where supporters of President Donald Trump entered the Capitol in an attempt to disrupt proceedings certifying President Joe Biden as winner of the 2020 election.

Basically, Merrick Garland is saying if you were there at all, you are a violent insurrectionist that needs to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and more.

Even if all the J6 footage is released and exonerates most everyone I don't think it will matter our justice system is no longer about law or justice, it is about political persecutions

It is devastating but probably true, #5. The wicked forces that have seized control of our government’s most powerful branches is not going to be stopped by release of more video of January 6th. No matter how much evidence, how many whistleblowers/witnesses to the massive voter fraud of 2020 Presidential election it was not enough.
…but GOD and He is working.

Did the FBI and the Capitol Police have that many participants there? That's the only crime that occurred, unless you count the stolen election two months before.

J6 was the first time that the loafer wearing protesters got a bit uppity. Causing the political class to get a little concerned. You see, they aren't afraid of Republicans or Republican protests. And they are going to make sure that Republicans nevera again protest outside the lines.
Until your government is afraid of you, nothing changes. Enemies view politeness as a weakness to be exploited.

Agree with original poster's comment. That her concept isn't a given shows how many of our Constitutional rights have been taken away from us.

Need to move all the trials out of Washington, D.C. Those courts are B.S., UnAmerican, and the juries are not made up of the peers of those accused.

Retaliation by the DOJ for the release of the J6 videos. This is pure Obama: spiteful, mean and in-your-face, all presented under the banner of “justice.”

Time for the Republican House to defund the DOJ. Show them how the game is played. BTW, when are the criminal charges coming for Merrick and Wray for lying to Congress?

Believe nearly 90% of all of these "prosecutions" are for illegal parading at the Capitol.
You see, once they stepped past the barriers that were removed, and set foot on the Capitol grounds (not just inside the building), they can be prosecuted for "illegal parading", and that's what I think Garland wants to do.
My sense, they want to send a message that you should really think hard if you're going to demonstrate, or any such thing ever again.
