Escape from New York may be a work of fiction no longer. In El Salvador, the government plans to crush crime by opening a new prison that is quite literally the size of a city. Two thousand suspected gang members have been moved to a new mega-prison in El Salvador, built as part of President Nayib Bukele’s self-proclaimed “war on crime.” … The mega-prison, officially called the Center for the Confinement of Terrorism (CECOT), was built to hold 40,000 prisoners. Bukele unveiled the center in January, saying it is “a fundamental piece to completely win the war against gangs.” The prisoners transferred to the CECOT are reportedly members

This guy is fantastic. Click on the video where he explains why they are destroying the tombstones on the graves of gang members -- because they have gang symbols or names on them. He likens that to de-Nazifying Germany. I hope he inspires some leaders in our country.

The unavoidable truth. The more bad guys and gals in prison, the safer the streets for everyone. But that means you have to fight the wokesters who think there are too many people locked up.

Here is a look inside El Salvador's New Mega Prison. The first thing I noticed were the guards carry some righteous weapons. My son-in-law was a corrections officer who refused to work in a maximum security prison because guards are not allowed to carry weapons. We need a prison like that here in the US. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uf_j47itM08

The black population in the US is over forty million people with at least 30% being gang bangers, so a prison for 15 million? I suggest the state of New York with California being the runner up. Yeah, I know, raciss.

While this appears to be working, and perhaps even necessary, for El Salvador, those of you thinking it would be great to implement in the U.S., think about what this system would look like under a President Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

I agree with poster #4 about prison/work farms. I grew up near a state Tuberculous Hospital and they had a dormitory like prison on the campus. The prisoners were able to work on the attached state operated farm to milk cows, tend the crops, feed and slaughter the hogs, and maintain the grounds in excellent condition. All of them seemed to appreciate that style of confinement, and knew that if they mis-behaved in any way it was back to the Big House for them. Granted these were not the hard-core convicts, but they did earn their own keep and provided a service to society. But, prisons are worthless unless we are willing to incarcerate bad, dangerous people.

The murder and crime rate in El Salvador has dropped because of drastic action by President Bukele. Those criminals still on the loose would instantly get religion if the prison city began installing ovens.

This is way beyond what I imagined thanks to video from #3. Think we should put something similar together, half a dozen across the country, for the really hard core, repeat offenders, home-grown street vandals and terrorists so that our streets are a safe place to walk. Recently horrific videos are being seen on the TV news of attacks on women walking their babies in strollers, the elderly being hit for simply no reason, hoards of black thieves robbing high-end stores. This has to stop. Our current leadership is worthless.

We had been steadily reducing crime with the VERY effective "three strikes" laws. Third felony.....NEVER coming out of jail. The the softheaded and softhearted and criminal supporting folks decided that if any thug did his third felony.....they just would charge with a misdemeanor because "it was too harsh" to use the 3 strikes. Many states have stupidly and destructively overturned this wonderful law. Put career criminals in cages FOREVER. It works 100% of the time.

Loved the video. Thanks #3. The tatted-up gang members don’t look so cocky, wearing only white undershorts, forced to keep their heads down, not allowed to stand up, etc. If only we can do it here. Unfortunately, our incarcerated criminals have far better representation by their fellow unincarcerated criminals (re: democrats) on the outside.

Americans have been living with the idiosyncrasies of arbitrary racial classifications for almost five decades. These are now deeply entrenched and serve to drive political agendas while understandably fomenting divisiveness and resentment. That is the subject of David E. Bernstein’s impeccably researched book Classified: The Untold Story of Racial Classification in America. In his review of the history of American racial classification, Bernstein, a professor of law at George Mason University, brings clarity to the contentious discrimination debate which began in earnest with the Statistical Directive 15 of the Office of Management and Budget of 1977, creating five inconsistent and haphazard racial categories: American Indian or Alaskan Native; Asian or

It’s hard not to binge read a Dean Koontz novel. His suspenseful plots hurl readers headlong into raucous adventures in which the stakes for his protagonists are extreme and, for humanity, often dire. His heroes are resilient. But like the best novelists, Koontz also communicates important moral truths. For two years, mRNA Covid vaccine skeptics have raised questions about whether the shots might damage fertility. mRNA jabs alter menstrual cycles in some women. An Israeli study last June showed that sperm production falls after the Pfizer shot. Worse, births are falling fast in many mRNA countries. The trend predates the shots, but in some countries it accelerated nine months after the widespread rollout of the jabs to women of childbearing age. Still, data have not supported the worst fear of mRNA skeptics - a marked rise in late-term deaths or stillborn babies. Until now. (Snip) 73 stillbirths in 2019. 78 in 2020. 78 in 2021. 133 in 2022.

San Francisco residents lined up at a city board meeting last night to share their full-throated support of a wide-eyed reparations plan that would award every black resident $5million, wipe their personal debt, guarantee $97,000 incomes for 250 years and $1 homes. But no one at the emotional meeting - where residents burst into song and begged to be made 'whole' - asked how the struggling, debt-addled city might pay for it. Reparations are being considered in various Democratic cities around America as a means of providing compensation to the descendants of enslaved African-Americans.

After months of near-silence and innuendo, Florida Gov. and GOP presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis decided to speak about Ukraine, removing all doubt about his position. While his statement on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show makes a handful of valid points, it is ridden with a fundamental misunderstanding of the war and US geopolitical interests. First, the good. DeSantis is correct to criticize the Biden administration’s lack of clear objectives in its support for “as long as it takes,” which is a recipe for a long and intractable conflict — which Americans would be right to reject.
