The crew of HOV Alvin drank in the spectacle of a shipwreck’s haunting bow, recording the historic moment with their vehicle’s underwater video camera. The three researchers were the first humans to lay eyes on the “unsinkable” passenger liner, RMS Titanic, since her ill-fated voyage in 1912.
Their 1986 expedition captured video near the bottom of the North Atlantic, some 400 miles south off the coast of Newfoundland, where the vessel sank nearly 75 years earlier. Much of that footage remained unreleased—until now.
In September 1985, Dr. Robert Ballard of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) led the team that first discovered the ship’s final resting place nearly 12,500 feet below

On March 2, 2023, the people in control of the Joe Biden administration officially announced that government control of internet content was now officially a part of the national security apparatus. [White House Link] If you have followed the history of how the Fourth Branch of Government has been created, you will immediately recognize the intent of this new framework. (image)The “National Cybersecurity Strategy” aligns with, supports, and works in concert with a total U.S. surveillance system, where definitions of information are then applied to “cybersecurity” and communication vectors. This policy is both a surveillance system and an information filtration prism where the government will decide what is information,

New York Magazine has no problem engaging in what leftists would decry as blatant gay shaming, so long as the target is Republican. On Thursday, the paper published its latest hit piece on Republican Rep. George Santos, the freshman lawmaker who, after he was elected in New York’s 3rd congressional district on Long Island, was caught fabricating his resume.
“George Santos, MAGA It Girl,” headlined the article (snip) there’s almost nothing in the more than 3,000-word column to suggest Santos is the new Republican “it girl.” The article is more a feature piece from a mid-level staffer than a snarky profile of the freshman representative, but it’s definitely still both.

Finally, President Donald Trump chose to lob a verbal grenade in the general direction of his old VP Mike Pence last Sunday night — regarding Pence’s ability to formally contest the results of the stolen 2020 election. This was, for many Trump supporters, long overdue. Here is Trump’s statement on the matter: (snip)The reason that Mike Pence did not exercise the power to lawfully contest the election is because Mike Pence was never a Trump loyalist. He’s a GOP establishment loyalist. There were plenty of problems inside the Trump Administration, and Vice President Mike Pence was at the center of many of those problems. In fact,

The Supreme Court ruled 5–4 in a fractured opinion on Feb. 28 that the IRS imposed an excessive fine on a businessman for failing to report foreign bank accounts, reducing the financial penalty from $2.72 million to $50,000.
The decision came after the U.S. House of Representatives, now controlled by Republicans, voted in January to repeal a congressional provision allotting almost $80 billion to the IRS over the coming 10 years for increased enforcement.
Democrats say the IRS has long been underfunded, but Republicans say the extra money will be used to harass taxpayers. Only 4 percent of the additional funding will be devoted to improving taxpayer service, while 58 percent will

WASHINGTON—White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, who has voiced concerns about Beijing’s growing ties with Moscow and involvement in the Russia–Ukraine conflict, says he doubts that the Chinese proposal to end the fighting would work. (snip)Beijing issued a paper titled “China’s Position on the Political Settlement of the Ukraine Crisis” on Feb. 24 in an effort to portray itself as a mediator in the year-old war. Beijing referred to the paper as a “peace plan,” although it contained few details.
The paper called for “respecting the sovereignty of all countries” and stated that “the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of all countries must be effectively upheld.”

This is it. This is pure MAGA. President Trump is announcing the big one… “Economic Agenda 47“
This is the economic policy blade to drive a stake through the vampire heart of corporatism, globalism and the exploitation of the U.S. economy by multinational corporate interests. This “universal baseline tariff” approach, is the policy that slays the dragons of the World Economic Forum, destroys the Beijing dragon and simultaneously ends the EU Marshal Plan advantage. This is a big deal.
President Trump makes the economic policy announcement today, and it is an incredible structure of trade and economic proposals that would be resoundingly effective at restoring every financial mechanism within the United States

The Defense Production Act (DPA 1950 amended, pdf) essentially is a legislative hurdle that stops the executive from stepping into the private sector and restricting trade, commerce or manufacturing, unless the President says a critical shortage of “xxxx” is present and national security is at stake. It prevents citizens from the threat of govt nationalization of resource “xxxx”.
In the event the President makes a national security determination, he/she is required to inform congress, invoke the waiver authority, and identify which sectors he/she is now outlining as a national security… such that government purchase orders take precedent in the supply of “xxxx”. Yesterday, President Biden invoked this authority.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated that two older adults who received Pfizer’s respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine during a clinical trial were subsequently diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder Guillain-Barré syndrome.
Briefing documents (pdf) released on Feb. 24 ahead of this week’s meeting of the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee flagged the two cases of the disorder and stated that Pfizer’s vaccine poses a potential risk.
“Given the temporal association and biological plausibility, FDA agrees with the assessments of the investigators that these events were possibly related to study vaccine,” the FDA stated in the documents. “Therefore, [Guillain-Barré] is being considered an important potential risk.”

A national divorce is impractical, and the prospect of a civil war, which is what happened last time it was tried, is horrible. (snip)The first of these truths is simple: The moral and cultural divisions in our nation are probably as deep as those preceding the Civil War. There is a multitude of polling and punditry on our polarization, but it can perhaps be best summed up by noting that we can’t even agree on what a woman is — the Biden administration, along with many blue states, is literally putting male criminals in women’s prisons on the theory that trans women are women, full stop. This level of disagreement,

Here’s a question I have. I am looking forward to your opinion. I have my own. In the Trump -vs- DeSantis storyline the following data points are generally agreed:
♦Approximately 75% of the Big Con “INFLUENCERS” (Big $) and punditry Support Ron DeSantis
♦Approximately 25% of the Small “Influencers” (Small $) and Indy punditry Support Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, amid the voting base the inverse is true:
♦Approximately 25% of the conservative, working-class, base voters support Ron DeSantis
♦Approximately 75% of the conservative, working-class, base voters support Donald Trump
Reconcile this inversion. What does it mean?
