Disney Gets Desperate, Punishes People

Disney is guilty of many things, but chief among them is its inability to learn from its mistakes. In fact, it seems more adamant about buckling down on them. Among these mistakes are its inability to make a movie without having it check certain social justice boxes. Race swaps, feminist messaging, and woke overtones are a plague within every modern Disney movie and television show. These political inclusions drag down box office numbers and viewership levels by leaps and bounds, and yet the House of Mouse can’t stop mainlining radical leftist politics into its system. The other thing it can’t stop doing is attacking its would-be customers and blaming people’s dislike

Face it....Disney is the raging alcoholic who hasn't quite hit rock bottom and is taking 100 proof swings at everyone who's pointing out their problems on the way down. They won't change until they have a brief moment of clarity and admit to the damage they've done to themselves and everyone around them.

Somebody needs to dig up Walt Disney's body and hook a generator belt up to his corpse. The rate he has to be spinning in his grave seeing what has happened to the wholesome family company he founded would be enough to probably power all the lights in Florida!!!

Please no, not the Little Mermaid! It will be a tragedy to ruin this one of a kind, brilliant and entertaining work of art. Walt Disney is just one example of a millionaire genius creating a product and a family fortune only to hand it down to a bunch of evil, insolent, immoral, low IQ children who burn through the money and ruin his legacy.

I don't think it is the "inability" to learn from its mistakes, because they are not mistakes, they are intent. When the overwhelming majority of your staff is mentally ill, who are on a mission to not only propagate their mental illnesses but to justify and normalize their existences, you are going fail, that is all you are going to do, that is all Disney is doing.

My kids (18 and 12) have pretty much outgrown Disney. We still do Disney Cruises as a diversion to get my wife away from the office (as an attorney once we're in int'l waters her clients, office can't reach her and she turns off her cell phones and locks them in the safe to avoid int'l charges.) My 18-yr-old hangs out with other teens in the teen club (Vibe) but quickly gets bored and returns to our cabin to hang out with us. He's also indicated he wants to do more adult stuff with us, like joining us at Palo or Remy's (the Italian and French onboard dress-up fine dining venues separate from all other onboard family-friendly group restaurants.) Aside from the fine dining and trips to the spa we usually don't go ashore at ports of call (unless it's Disney own island Castaway Cay) and we avoid posing w Disney characters (inevitably some wander around after their scheduled posing times and we'll wave at them as they head back to the employees' only areas to remove their costumes.) Once Disney Cruise Lines goes woke we won't cruise anymore. We may start doing trips abroad with Adventures By Disney but I suspect my wife would book those for the inclusive costs and possible bargains, not because we're enamored of all things Disney.

A couple of days ago upon learning of this umpteenth remake of Pan, I posted on a Facebook Disney fan site my exasperation with one more film from an intellectual property that has been done to death. You'd have thought I had just gored someone's sacred cow! One responder, who I strongly suspect was a Disney insider, posted a miles-long screed attempting to rebut my comment. I didn't bother reading it, I just blocked his a**. I believe there are basically two groups of Disney fans: the ones like me who have loved Disney all our lives but are put off by the wokeness and laziness of those currently running the company into the ground, and those who believe the company can do wrong and are intolerant of any criticism of the company and its current output. I have no tolerance for intolerance and no time or respect for those who would seek to shut me down. At my age that ain't happening.

I did not attend CPAC 2023 this year for various reasons, mostly time and cost. Compared to Florida, Washington D.C. is prohibitively expensive, with fewer food and lodging options. Also, after two years of a popular, and well-received (not to mention warmer) event, I wasn’t interested in wasting energy, money, and time dealing with the cold, crime-ridden, and freedom-restricted swamp that is D.C. From attendee and news reports, my instincts were right, and apparently, others felt the same. The Washington Examiner unpacks the bad news for the Conservative Political Action Conference. Hogan framed his choice as as a self-sacrificial strategy to prevent former president Trump from securing the nomination. Urging the party to break-up with MAGA, Hogan said he was removing himself from the potential competition so as to avoid vote splitting among various GOP rivals and handing Trump the plurality. “To once again be a successful governing party, we must move on from Donald Trump. There are several competent Republican leaders who have the potential to step up and lead,” Hogan wrote in a statement. “But the stakes are too high

Joe Biden will almost certainly not attend the coronation of King Charles III. The official reason is that he is making a trip to Ireland that simply can’t be canceled. The media have focused on two reasons he won’t be there: (1) Eisenhower didn’t attend so there’s no tradition for presidents to attend, and (2) Biden hates the British. I think there are two more likely reasons: (1) Charles III’s coronation is an event without cachet, and (2) it’s impossible for Biden to withstand the rigors of the long coronation ceremony and any pre- and post-ceremony events. Indeed, my money is on the last reason being the real reason.
