Bay Area making climate change history
by phasing out sales of gas furnaces and

As soon as this month, air quality officials in the San Francisco Bay Area are expected to adopt the nation’s first rules phasing out new gas-fueled water heaters and furnaces in homes and businesses starting in 2027. When they do, it will mark a significant step in the effort to curb health-damaging and planet-warming emissions from buildings. The California Air Resources Board adopted plans last year to phase out sales of gas water heaters and furnaces statewide by 2030 but isn't going to consider setting rules to do so until 2025. Comments:

This is so insane. If your gas furnace or water heater needs to be replaced you'll be forced to convert to electric. The cost will be crippling.

So.......when power outages occur due to overloaded power lines because everything is electric you will not have hot water, be able to warm up the baby's bottle......or warm the house??? Wonderful, wonderful! Sounds like Paradise to me! s?

It's hilarious. When the power goes out, you now will lose everything it takes to run a house except you will be able to go to the bathroom. No lights, no heat, no way to cook, to charge your electric vehicle, etc. What loons !

If the power is off long enough and the water towers are drained you won't even be able to flush the toilet or get water out of the tap. This is such a great idea. Don't wait until 2027!

The government can't monitor--and control--your energy consumption/compliance/environmental justice scoring as easily with gas as they can if they are the sole provider of energy via KWH into your home. Anti-social behavior displayed (according to the justice warriors/"elected" betters)? Then your power gets reduced or cutoff until you change your evil ways. For example, LE already does this to ID covert drug grows. Too much energy consumption levels for that kind of house is a big red flag. Ford applied to patent car technology that will enable them to shut your car radio down, turn off your a/c, or even disable your vehicle should you miss car payments. This is about visibility into your "choices" and control of your behavior NOT concern for the "environment."

Let’s see , taxing the electric grid with electric cars and electric heaters that won’t be able to even keep up with the new electric card mandates sounds like massive blackouts forth coming! Also presently same fossil fuels that are need to charge the car batteries will be needed to heat homes and provide hot water. Wow Those Californians are so smart… NOT

Tankless water heaters are efficient, but they need a lot of power NOW, and so are much better used as gas appliances than electric. This is logical, and thus beyond the capabilities of bureaucrats.

At least for some, the famous line, “Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt” (often attributed to Mark Twain), perfectly underscores the dilemma of the Democratic Party’s leaders approaching the 2024 presidential election. Many of them seem to be in flat-out denial of the widespread fear — or reality — that they don’t have a viable ticket. A recent article in Politico gave a deliberate test drive to some of the concerns regarding the highly flawed incumbent ticket of President Biden and Vice President Harris. It read, in part: “High-level Democrats are rallying to President Biden’s reelection, not because they

Joe Biden will almost certainly not attend the coronation of King Charles III. The official reason is that he is making a trip to Ireland that simply can’t be canceled. The media have focused on two reasons he won’t be there: (1) Eisenhower didn’t attend so there’s no tradition for presidents to attend, and (2) Biden hates the British. I think there are two more likely reasons: (1) Charles III’s coronation is an event without cachet, and (2) it’s impossible for Biden to withstand the rigors of the long coronation ceremony and any pre- and post-ceremony events. Indeed, my money is on the last reason being the real reason.
