A ‘National Divorce’ Is An Understandable

A national divorce is impractical, and the prospect of a civil war, which is what happened last time it was tried, is horrible. (snip)The first of these truths is simple: The moral and cultural divisions in our nation are probably as deep as those preceding the Civil War. There is a multitude of polling and punditry on our polarization, but it can perhaps be best summed up by noting that we can’t even agree on what a woman is — the Biden administration, along with many blue states, is literally putting male criminals in women’s prisons on the theory that trans women are women, full stop. Unfortunately we have lost any sense of shared identity. We have always had people come here from other countries BUT they strove to be "Americans", to embrace the ideals and principals that this country was founded on, and they believed that success was based on one's hard work. That is not the case today. Those that have been here no longer have a love (and because most have never lived or worked overseas) nor an appreciation for what this country offered. Our government is no longer interested in the people of this country unless they see a specific group representing an issue to virtue signal. They certainly no longer believe in individual freedom (Patriot Act to Cancelling on Social Sites to forcing people to approve and promote the LGTB ). So it is really not a divorce it is the crumbling of an Empire that is unfortunately impacting the whole world.

I don't accept the premise of a disaster. I don't see anything but an improvement, if everything was not decided by fake elections, and a government centralized in DC.

True, but there will never again be a united America. We despise them and their sick evil agenda, and they hate and want to destroy us. I have much more in common and more kinship with my fellow Christians in (e.g.) Iran, Iraq, China, Russia, our so-called enemies, than I do with godless leftist American trash, who are for the most part in control. If I had to take up arms with one side against the other, the choice would be both easy and a sincere pleasure.

I see so many parallels with the American revolution these days. It would get seriously ugly, but this country needs a good cleansing. Thomas Jefferson knew it: "the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." I see it coming in my lifetime.

FTA: “ It is understandable that conservatives want to get away from those who are attacking our way of life, but our knowledge of better ways to live should give us hope that we can win.” I am not sure about that. How do you have any connection with people who are actively destroying your way of life and everything you hold dear? Our side is not perfect but we are not evil. The left is unreasonable, vicious, and determined to have everything their way. When does anyone write articles geared to the left urging them to understand they we are all in this together? It never occurs to them. They believe they are right, entitled, and show no sign of wanting to change the way they believe or interact. As much as I would like to persuade them, that would be a waste of time. They are totally committed to their beliefs as are we. Where is there a possibility of coming together? I just don’t see it. I contend that this kind of evil must be defeated. You cannot argue with committed ideologues with any success. Their minds are closed and they revert to name calling and violence. Where is the common ground? They don’t even like this country and loathe its founding principles. Frankly, I just want them to stay far, far away from me. Unfortunately, that is impossible since they have hijacked the government, media, academia, and culture. We are saturated with their ideology.

#4 ! Well said. I like to think that I have already participated in the national divorce. Self employed. Go to a conservative Parish. Great niebors. Live in my bubble. Scan the headlines and find out Is what they are lying about today. Not like I gave up caring but somebody shake me awake when we have to start shooting. I only do business with people that align. It's a little sub culture. Hobby stuff to. Gym, golf, White Sox. It's a bubble within a bubble. And somehow I've managed to live in a little house on a little lake in a little town. Works for me. Divorced from madness.

What have now IS a disaster, Nathanael. A divorce could only bring a measure of relief, for both sides. They hate us as much as we hate them. The difference is that they have a pathological need to control, while we just want to be left alone. #10 & 12 have it exactly right. Until we can separate, create your own parallel society and live the best, happiest life you can. That is like garlic to the vampires of the left.

The nation as founded no longer exists. We are in a war for control by both sides who have perverted the original message. The REAL war between the sides that is at stake is a MORAL one. One side wants to preserve the separation of powers so that each branch keeps fidelity with its role, while the other side wishes to bend and re-define words and descriptions to fit their agenda by ignoring the standards previously set by generations before for over two centuries. The media has tried to turn things upside down-- blaming republicans for slavery, blaming them for being centered ONLY on money and the aquisition of money. There is blantant and CONSTANT corruption on BOTH sides! Cheap labor to make corporations and the wealthy is a an amoral treating of disrespect for human life and dignity. Allowing an INVASION of cheap labor undercuts those poor, uneducated Americans out of their jobs. Neither side wants to stop this and their own self interests are working to bring this great country to catastrophe. The unbridled power of the government to ruin the individual and make him hide for two weeks, or create massive giveaway to undercut the economy and usurp power from voters will through chicanery and outright ILLEGAL disregard for voting laws in 2020 have only made things worse. A derelict and depraved puppet Vegetable and a government and intelligence agaencies which are a law unto themselves playing along with the corruption to protect their asses contributes to the downfall. Pray and get involved before its too late. Our parents left U.S. with a great country which it still is if we only follow the law and protect the people FROM the government.

Let's go EAST. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida. We have every shipping port in The Gulf of Mexico and half the Atlantic and more oil than the Saudis ever dreamed of. California and New York can print their own money. If they want to trade they can use Panama. We WILL protect our borders ,north, south, east, and west. If you're coming to visit Texas bring your US passport with the pre-approved visitor's visa. Here we would live under the original US constitution. Don't like that ? Move to New York.

ALL talk of natinoal divorce is just more hair-on-fire hysteria for the continuing failure to identify the problem. Diversity is not and has never been America's strenghth. Our strength is and has ALWAYS been found in our commanalities. Strong mother/father families, our common English language, our freedoms of speech and religion and assembly, our consitutional protections against the government that require probable cause and judge-issued warrants before the government may intrude into our papers and records and lives. These are the foundation stones of America. Whether your version of the American Dream means getting rich, writing your novel, inventing the next big thing, or simply living your life with your spouse and children in freedom and safety, it's all open to you to pursue in America. It is time to change the conversation. Change it back to our stgrengths. Our American commonalities.

The Treachery of VP Mike Pence Explained 14 replies

Finally, President Donald Trump chose to lob a verbal grenade in the general direction of his old VP Mike Pence last Sunday night — regarding Pence’s ability to formally contest the results of the stolen 2020 election. This was, for many Trump supporters, long overdue. Here is Trump’s statement on the matter: (snip)The reason that Mike Pence did not exercise the power to lawfully contest the election is because Mike Pence was never a Trump loyalist. He’s a GOP establishment loyalist. There were plenty of problems inside the Trump Administration, and Vice President Mike Pence was at the center of many of those problems. In fact,

The Supreme Court ruled 5–4 in a fractured opinion on Feb. 28 that the IRS imposed an excessive fine on a businessman for failing to report foreign bank accounts, reducing the financial penalty from $2.72 million to $50,000. The decision came after the U.S. House of Representatives, now controlled by Republicans, voted in January to repeal a congressional provision allotting almost $80 billion to the IRS over the coming 10 years for increased enforcement. Democrats say the IRS has long been underfunded, but Republicans say the extra money will be used to harass taxpayers. Only 4 percent of the additional funding will be devoted to improving taxpayer service, while 58 percent will
