ATLANTA— They were led down a staircase into a garage beneath a downtown Atlanta courthouse, where officers with big guns were waiting. From there, they were ushered into vans with heavily tinted windows and driven to their cars under police escort. For Emily Kohrs, these were the moments last May when she realized she wasn’t participating in just any grand jury. “That was the first indication that this was a big freaking deal,” Kohrs told The Associated Press. The 30-year-old Fulton County resident who was between jobs suddenly found herself at the center of one of the nation’s most significant legal proceedings. She would become foreperson of the special grand jury

Why the 2020 Election was Unverifiable 0 replies
Posted by Imright 2/23/2023 5:27:25 AM Post Reply
Joe Biden acquired his job through a legal process. However, he did not earn enough verifiable votes to justify the certifications in six key swing states. This issue is addressed in my new book, but here is some of my reasoning. I have limited myself to one example of unverifiable votes for each of those swing states. Arizona At an Arizona Senate Committee hearing on January 24, 2022, we learned that precisely 95 percent of Maricopa County overseas military members (and their families) voted for Joe Biden. That is an amazing (as in phony) percentage, given that the overall county-wide vote was fairly even between Biden and Trump (51 to 49%).

New video shows the terrifying moment an alligator lunged at a woman walking her dog by a lake in her Florida community, dragging her to her death. The horrifying nightmare captured on video obtained by Inside Edition unfolded in front of a neighbor who frantically called 911 as she tried to help the woman. But it was too late.  Gloria Serge, 85, died after she was mauled to death by the 10-foot gator when she tried to rescue her beloved dog, Trooper, from the reptile's clutches on Monday.  Serge's pup survived the attacked, but the gator was later captured and euthanized.  Scroll for video

A group of 16 GOP representatives is on course to derail House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's leverage in negotiations with President Joe Biden and the Democrats over the debt ceiling. The group of 16, identified by Axios, all have never voted to raise the debt ceiling, including under former President Donald Trump, meaning they are unlikely to break their streak now. The 16 were identified as Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Ralph Norman (R-SC), Tom Emmer (R-MN), Richard Hudson (R-NC), Gary Palmer (R-AL), Jason Smith (R-MO), James Comer (R-KY), Bruce Westerman (R-AR), Ken Buck (R-CO), Warren Davidson (R-OH), Thomas Massie (R-KY), Tom McClintock (R-CA),

Del Toro said that China's navy has recently added over one hundred combatants to its fleet, calling it 'a naval buildup that is a key component of its increasingly aggressive military posture globally.'

After a nearly eight-month investigation, a Fulton County special grand jury recommended on Tuesday that multiple people be indicted for allegedly interfering with Georgia’s 2020 presidential elections, and the national media had Donald Trump on their collection brain. The jury forewoman, Emily Kohrs, was a sudden media darling over the possibility of Trump being among those being indicted and she was downright giddy over all the attention she was getting, but her explanation of why she wanted to hear from the former president was enough to give one pause, regardless of their political affiliation. “I wanted to hear from the former president, but honestly I kinda wanted to subpoena the former president

Welcome to the latest Hunter Biden reboot. Call it Dark Biden rises. Hunter has long been a reclamation project for the media and the Biden team. Despite ample evidence that he and his family may have engaged in one of the largest influence-peddling operations in history, the media have struggled to find a redeeming image for someone who’s committed his life to a toxic mix of nepotism, narcissism and narcotics. First there was “Hunter: the wrongly accused international businessman.” This blanket denial of wrongdoing was maintained by his father and dutifully repeated by the media. Hunter Biden did “nothing wrong,” and reporters pressing questions of corruption were immediately attacked.

The White House said Wednesday it moved one step closer to meeting its offshore wind energy goals by announcing the first lease sale for developments in the Gulf of Mexico. President Joe Biden set a goal of having 30 gigawatts of offshore wind installed by 2030, with another 15 GW coming from floating turbine installations by 2035. To reach that goal, the administration said it opened its first lease sale for offshore wind in the Gulf of Mexico. Three lease areas off Texas and Louisiana could support the development of enough wind energy to meet the demands of nearly 1.3 million average households, the White House in a fact sheet.

The Ukrainians have not only held their own, but have managed to liberate a good chunk of their conquered territory. They’ve been buoyed tremendously by a constant influx of Western military aid. I argue here, against a small but vocal conservative faction, that we should continue this aid. There has been plenty of unhelpful hyperbole on both sides of the debate. Prominent pro-Ukrainers have attempted to equate opposition to Ukrainian aid as opposition to democracy itself. Michael Beschloss, NBC’s resident Rent-A-Zinn, referencing members of Congress who didn’t applaud Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s recent speech, and in Stalinist fashion, tweeted “we need to know from them exactly why.”

How is American education going? In at least one blue midwestern state, not well. Nonprofit research organization Wirepoint has looked into Illinois public schools, and their performance deserves less than an “A+.” Among more than 30 institutions of learning, zero students can read at their respective grade levels. As for math, across 53 schools, no students are proficient. The bulk of those underperforming campuses — twenty-two in the case of reading and thirty-three in the case of math — sit within the City of Chicago School District — where taxpayers annually spend between $5,929 and $56,311 per student.

The substance, which seemed to first appear in Philadelphia before migrating west to San Francisco and Los Angeles, was used for cutting heroin, but, most recently, it has been discovered in fentanyl and other illicit drugs. While approved by the Food and Drug Administration for veterinary use, xylazine, a non-opioid, is not safe for humans,

Ukraine's insistence on reasserting control over the annexed Crimean Peninsula is controversial for United States citizens, exclusive polling for Newsweek has revealed. Throughout the past year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly committed to "liberating" Crimea from Russian control. The peninsula was illegally annexed by Moscow back in 2014. "Crimea is our land, our territory," Zelensky said in January. "It is our sea and our mountains. Give us your weapons—we will return what is ours." His words coincided with reports that the Biden administration was warming up to the idea of supporting Kyiv in its goal of retaking Crimea.

These governments believed it was important to report on successes and failures of pandemic decisions because it was the public that was on the receiving end of policies such as closed schools, vaccine mandates, and shuttered businesses. The United States is notably absent from this list, despite a long history of setting up bipartisan commissions after national crises in order to avoid repeating mistakes. Since 1989, when the current iteration of bipartisan commissions essentially came into being, Congress has funded 170 commissions to
