Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot urged black voters to help her 'keep the seat' from falling to white or Hispanic challengers, despite an appalling spike in crime. As Lightfoot seeks a second term in the upcoming February 28 election, some business leaders concerned about the continuing crime wave say they don't think she is up to the task.  In rallies on Saturday, Lightfoot told the South and West side residents who don't support her to not bother voting at all. Chicago's South Side is a historically-black area. 'Any vote coming from the South Side for somebody not named Lightfoot is a vote for Chuy Garcia or Paul Vallas,' Lightfoot said.

The problem with foisting the "victim mentality" on a n y o n e is that those anyones can be so conditioned to always feel they are the victims, that it never occurs to them that they could be part of the solution. I think it is called "empowerment", and that is why some things never change. Those who are always promoting the victim mentality use it as a way to stay in power.

I know a guy in the electrician's union up there. He is doing very well and is connected to the Jewish community through marriage. He says media reports are not accurate and make the city worse than it is. He also says the cops and the unions hate Lightfoot, but the "brotha's" love her. So she's back in.

Of course it's a double standard. Without double standards, treasoncrats would have no standards at all. And of course she will get away with it. A: she's black, B: she's a lesbian, C: she self identifies as a female. ( the trifecta of victim groups ) D: she's a liberal Democrat. And, many many many Black voters will turn out to vote for her for the sole reason that she is black. Many many white voters will turn out for her because white guilt, white privilege and white supremacy. Only a handful will vote for her because she has "good, effective" policies. The media will say NOTHING. The only question is: Are there enough voters with a functioning brain to vote her out?

Sen. Scott, while speaking at Drake University, delivered an encouraging speech — a step back from the gloomy and distressed messaging other Republicans have focused on, centered on the Biden administration, early in the campaign. “I see 330 million Americans getting back to celebrating our shared blessings again, tolerating our differences again, and having each other’s backs again,” Scott said,

The latest edition of Chelsea Clinton’s She Persisted book series is pushing “transgender” ideology on children by propping up Assistant Secretary for Health Dr. Rachel Levine — a man — as a woman. As I reported earlier, while Joe Biden was in Ukraine giving a lot of our money away and staging air raid sirens to make himself look tough, former President Donald Trump was going to East Palestine, Ohio, to listen to and help Americans who are in crisis. They need to know that people care about what’s happening there. A train derailment there about three weeks ago resulted in contamination of the area, and the reaction from the federal government has been painfully slow. Joe Biden hasn’t even mentioned it, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg had to be shamed into caring, finally saying on Wednesday that he would be going there

The White House said Wednesday it moved one step closer to meeting its offshore wind energy goals by announcing the first lease sale for developments in the Gulf of Mexico. President Joe Biden set a goal of having 30 gigawatts of offshore wind installed by 2030, with another 15 GW coming from floating turbine installations by 2035. I argue here, against a small but vocal conservative faction, that we should continue this aid. There has been plenty of unhelpful hyperbole on both sides of the debate. Prominent pro-Ukrainers have attempted to equate opposition to Ukrainian aid as opposition to democracy itself.
