How It's Done: Ron DeSantis Visits Miami
in ‘Law and Order’ Push, Gets ‘Immediate Results'

QAs we’ve seen all too often, some so-called Republican “leaders” are anything but when it comes to pushing back against the radical left’s woke agenda, which includes such bright ideas as defunding the police, implementing dangerous policies like bail reform, and teaching black children to view their white classmates as their oppressors. But in Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to be an unapologetic proponent of common-sense solutions that are expressly designed to reject the radical wokeness that has, in some parts of the country, slithered its way into public school systems, collegiate academia, government, the sports world, banking and the workplace, and beyond. DeSantis’ latest push against Woke Inc.

What I like best about RDS is that he doesn't wait until something happens to act; he is a visionary, anticipating what COULD go wrong, then fixes it first. The entire GOP could learn from this.

I like Desantis, he does the job without bragging and boasting something DJT needs to learn how to do. If Desantis throws his hat in the ring for 2024 things will get interesting. Personally I don’t think it will matter until they get the election process under control. The dumb a$$ republicans elected Romney McDaniel again so it shows me they don’t want to be winners. What have they done to clean up the process? NOTHING

Love DeSantis and the remarkable common sense conservatism he has brought to Florida. But he also has a solid Republican legislature to back him up. If it weren’t for the voters he would be stopped on most of his agenda. I hope the influx of people fleeing liberal States don’t change that.

Remember when his term as governor ends he cannot run again so he has to run for President unless you want him to join a law firm and disappear forever.

Great luck to Florida and RDS. Hat tip to #6 above about the GOP ''leadership'' if I may use a very loose term. The mail has thinned out from the party money bags. I have a lovely paper shredder which if fed a daily dose of something from that office. Now if I could get the texters to stop texting me in the off hours about who I'll vote for. Geesh!

Nelson Peltz declared his proxy fight with Disney was over Thursday after the entertainment giant unveiled a vast restructuring plan, cost cuts and 7,000 layoffs. "Now Disney plans to do everything we wanted them to do," Peltz told Jim Cramer on CNBC's "Squawk on the Street" on Thursday. "We wish the very best to Bob [Iger], this management team and the board. We will be watching. We will be rooting." "The proxy fight is over," said Peltz, who heads Trian Fund Management. Earlier in January Trian launched a proxy fight with Disney, pushing for Peltz to gain a seat on the board.

The Biden administration has determined that the suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that traversed the United States last week was operating with electronic surveillance technology capable of monitoring US communications, according to a senior State Department official. The balloon "was capable of conducting signals intelligence collection operations" and was part of a fleet that had flown over "more than 40 countries across five continents." "We know the PRC used these balloons for surveillance," the official said. "High resolution imagery from U-2 flybys revealed that the high-altitude balloon was capable of conducting signals intelligence collection operations."

Joe Biden just did an interview with PBS’s Judy Woodruff after not having done an interview in quite some time. But this came after he received a lot of criticism over his handling in the past week of a Chinese spy balloon that he allowed to traverse the country and after his classified document scandal exploded over the past month. Now I wouldn’t say that Woodruff was a tough questioner, but she did ask questions about both topics. Joe being Joe, he tried to blame other people for his classified document scandal. He claimed to Woodruff that the documents were there because the people who cleaned up

As social media platforms go, Twitter is unquestionably one of the big ones — with between 370 million and 450 million monthly active users. It’s been the subject of countless news stories of late, between the Twitter Files, and Wednesday’s hearing on Capitol Hill before the House Oversight Committee. Late Wednesday afternoon, however, the site appeared to suffer a widespread outage. Users attempting to tweet began receiving messages that they were over their daily-allotted tweet limit. Before too long, however, users discovered tweets would send if scheduled. As of 6:00 pm Eastern, the site still appears to be largely down (aside from scheduled tweets) — though there were signs

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced what has been described as the “largest tax relief proposal” in the Sunshine State’s history, which includes permanent sales tax relief on baby and toddler necessities, gas stoves, and more. Speaking in Marion County, DeSantis briefly highlighted the state of affairs economically in Florida, noting that the state has one of the lowest per capita tax burdens in the country and no income tax while promising to “keep it that way.” “We also have one of the lowest per capita debt burdens in the country,” he said, touting the state’s top status in terms of the formation of new businesses,

I have never paid too much attention to Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Not for any particular reason, other than the fact that she was overshadowed by the looming presence of her boss Donald Trump. So it was a revelation to me when she gave the first watchable response to the State of the Union address that I have ever seen. I have no idea how many people watched it, but I am pretty sure that clips from the speech will run for days in the media and on Twitter.//snip//But things are changing, because the Left is going warp speed in the culture wars, and Huckabee Sanders went there–as a mom.

I thought the flight of the Chinese spy balloon across the United States was a national embarrassment, but it was nothing compared to President Biden’s State of the Union performance last night. I thought he hit the high point with his congratulation of Kevin McCarthy for ascending to the Speakership in the first few seconds of his speech. The speed of the descent varied, but it was downhill all the way from there. That means it was a long, long way downhill. In his victory speech after winning a second gubernatorial term in November, Republican Ron DeSantis proclaimed his state of Florida is where “woke goes to die.” He’s been at war with the ideology since his first term, taking on some of the most powerful organizations, businesses and politicians in the country promoting it and trying to spread the woke virus to our children. He’s most famously been at odds with Disney, which has increasingly injected woke messaging into its content marketed for America’s kids. The liberal media scoffed. No one’s pushing woke. He’s fighting a made-up enemy. It’s baloney — and Disney just proved it. In a sinister cartoon

During his State of the Union Address Tuesday night, President Joe Biden cast the recent downing of a suspected Chinese spy balloon as a signal of American resolve, despite the fact that the balloon was not shot down until a week after it entered U.S. airspace and days after it was allowed to hover over sensitive military facilities in Montana. America is currently “in the strongest position in decades to compete with China or anyone else in the world,” Biden said before a joint session of Congress. “But make no mistake: as we made clear last week, if China’s threatens our sovereignty, we will act to protect our country.

Republican Rep. Has (sic) affirmative action hiring practices caused overall competence to plummet? The record appears to show exactly that. For no good reasons whatsoever, competence was allowed to die on the vine in order to give the less competent a leg up. Not equality but superiority rules the hiring, firing, and education of Americans. Worse, many of those who were affirmatively hired do not do as good a job as those whose excellence was obvious. You can see it in customer service, which for many businesses is abysmally incompetent. There is a resentful casualness in those who are hired to serve others that would not have been acceptable even two decades ago.
