German Chancellor Olaf Scholz formally announced Wednesday that after weeks of stalling and frustrating negotiations Berlin has agreed to send two battalions of Leopard 2 A6 tanks to Ukraine. In a statement the government said it would initially send one company of 14 tanks to Kyiv, though its aim is to send up to 88 tanks from its own stockpiles. Scholz said, "This decision follows our well-known line of supporting Ukraine to the best of our ability. We are acting in a closely coordinated manner internationally." Some 15 other EU nations that possess the German-made tanks in their own stocks and had increased the pressure on Berlin

Kind of reminds me the pressure on Eastern European countries in 1940 to join the fight against the Russians. Didn’t end well for Ukraine.

The latest numbers from the Bureau of Economic Analysis show that the U.S. economy grew by 2.9 percent in the fourth quarter of last year, and 2.1 percent for 2022. While the White House was quick to take credit for the state of the nation’s economy, they might want to think twice. This latest report should have alarm bells ringing, not trumpets sounding. That’s because economic growth is slowing down. Even the areas which contributed positively to gross domestic product (GDP) are not necessarily signs of prosperity. For example, business investment grew at only 1.4 percent in the fourth quarter, but that was almost entirely inventory growth. Nonresidential investment,

Dave Rubin, host of “The Rubin Report” got a great opportunity — to go behind the scenes with Elon Musk and walk through Twitter. But first, he had to walk through San Francisco to get to the company’s headquarters–and that wasn’t a picnic, making his way through Nancy Pelosi’s city. Rubin said he spent two days talking to engineers, product managers, and Musk. He discovered what a “Rube Golberg” contraption Twitter was, and how hard Musk and his engineers were working to clean up all the mess that had been left. He was told he could write anything he wanted about the experience, as long as it was true.

Twitter and Tesla CEO Elon Musk met with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries at the US Capitol in Washington on Thursday evening. McCarthy, leaving the meeting with Musk in his office, declined to comment other than to say: "He came for my birthday." The California Republican turned 58 on Thursday. After the meeting, Musk wrote on Twitter that he met with McCarthy and Jeffries "to discuss ensuring that this platform is fair to both parties." According to a source familiar with the matter, Jeffries met with McCarthy in part to receive a law enforcement briefing regarding Capitol Hill preparations in case there are protests
Canada's Deputy PM: U.S. Middle Class
'Needs a Pay Cut'

The Deputy Prime Minister of Canada and confirmed WEF goon Chrystia Freeland has determined that the American middle class “needs a pay cut.” Following an anecdote of an unnamed person who gave her the idea, she explicitly confirms her belief that the prescription for a middle-class wealth downgrade is the correct policy position but mentions the “very difficult” political and social sell to the middle class. As we slide further down the slope into multinational technocracy, the rhetoric will gradually shift in this direction. The “green” revolution and veganism and other energy and food restriction schemes began, if you can recall, with promises of economic expansion

The bankruptcy of crypto firm FTX could lead a bevy of companies with ties to Hollywood out in the cold. Unsealed court filings released Thursday list the corporate creditors of the Sam Bankman-Fried founded crypto firm, and they include many blue chip companies in the technology and media sectors. Among the creditors are Comcast, the owner of NBCUniversal, Netflix, Fox Corp., Apple, CAA, and subsidiaries of Warner Bros. Discovery and Endeavor, among other firms. The companies’ presence in the filing implies that FTX owes all of them money, though precisely how much, and what for, remains unclear based on the filing.

I hope to earn their votes and their trust,” Schiff said in a statement. Schiff was recently removed from the House Intelligence Committee by Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) in response to the former’s conduct as a lead investigator during the Trump impeachment hearings.

In the weeks after Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Christmastime visit to Washington, U.S., German and other European leaders became locked in an increasingly ugly t-for-tat over whether to send tanks to Ukraine. As language got heated behind the scenes, neither the U.S. nor Germany would budge — even as the standoff exposed a rare breach between two of Kyiv’s biggest backers. Ultimately, President Joe Biden decided it was more important to show a unified front and send the tanks — a move that could go down as one of the most consequential decisions in the multinational effort to arm Ukraine. Biden concluded it was important to move in lockstep with an ally,

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) that Republcans would not make cuts to social security or Medicare to offset the debt ceiling during a meeting on Tuesday, according to Punch Bowl News co-founder Jake Sherman. Sherman noted in a tweet that Manchin also “hopes” President Joe Biden will negotiate with Republicans, who want spending cuts in exchange for their help raising the debt ceiling. A source familiar with their conversation said it was positive but added “commitments” were not established, the Hill’s Alexander Bolton reported.

President Joe Biden’s administration may bring a record 2.7 million illegal aliens to the United States-Mexico border this year, new analysis projects. For 2021, Steven Kopits with Princeton Policy Advisors accurately projected that about two million border crossers and illegal aliens would be apprehended. Likewise, Kopits correctly projected that more than 2.3 million border crossers and illegal aliens would be apprehended in 2022, for a total of about 4.2 million apprehensions since Biden took office. As illegal immigration hit a record monthly high in December 2022, with more than 250,000 apprehensions at the border, Kopits writes that the figures “are simply surreal” and suggests that Biden

The FBI’s unprecedented search of President Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, resulted from high-stakes discussions between the Justice Department and Biden attorneys over when and how it would take place, sources familiar with the matter tell CNN. Biden’s team stresses that it was cooperative in the lead-up to Friday’s search and even expressed an eagerness for the search to happen as expeditiously as possible to move the investigation along – and to try to put the matter behind them. For its part, the Justice Department had decided it would conduct the latest search – and any subsequent searches – after Biden’s team handled earlier searches themselves. Federal investigators

It would also require the Comptroller General of the United States to review the amount of federal funds awarded to EcoHealth Alliance directly or indirectly in the past ten years

As I said a heartfelt goodbye to my 2014 Subaru Impreza Sport 5-Door last September, there was something I wondered as I walked off the used car lot: where are all the station wagons? As it turns out, in the year 2023, there aren’t that many station wagons on the road, period. “The standard data provider for new vehicle sales doesn’t even break down wagons anymore,” says Kevin Roberts, director of industry insights and analytics at CarGurus. “Most of the time, they’ll probably end up classified as a crossover or a hatchback.” Some data aggregators have “station wagon” as a trim or body variant, but you’ll be hard-pressed

Parents at a Michigan school board meeting confronted a school board member for making incendiary – and racist – comments about white people in a series of tweets in December. I first encountered unabashed pride in being American when I came to the United States in 1951. I sailed across the Atlantic alone. Upon disembarking in New York what stood out was not the awe-inspiring and intimidating skyscrapers seemingly reaching to the heavens, or for the first time in my life seeing a city not lying in ruins from the ravages of war, but that there was a palpable atmosphere of confidence, optimism,

It sounds like a bad joke about woke gone amok, but it’s not. Norway’s University of Bergen is sponsoring research into the burning question of whether and how white paint contributes to white supremacy and why Norway should feel guilty about it because of its role in it. It turns out, you see, that Norwegians were behind the innovation of titanium white paint, which is considered pure white. The university wants researchers to explore “the cultural and aesthetic changes instigated by titanium white … and how can both the material in itself and these changes be conceptualized and made visible?”

An elevated rate of Bell’s palsy was identified among elderly people after vaccination with a Pfizer booster shot, U.S. regulators said in a new study. The “small but statistically significant elevation” in Bell’s palsy was detected after vaccination with Pfizer’s old booster, which is no longer available in the United States, researchers with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said in a preprint study. The elevated rate resulted in an adjusted incidence rate ratio of 1.13 and remained consistent when researchers adjusted for different factors, such as prior COVID-19 infection. A rate above one shows a possible connection between the vaccine and an adverse event.
