A customer shot and killed a suspected robber at a Mexican restaurant in Houston late Thursday night, officials said.
According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting happened at The Ranchito #4 around 11:30 p.m.
Witnesses told police that a man in a ski mask entered the restaurant and pointed a pistol at customers, demanding their money. As the suspect collected money, one of the customers pulled out his own gun and shot the suspect multiple times, killing him, police said.
The shooter then retrieved all the stolen money from the robber and returned the money to the other customers before fleeing the scene.

I've seen the video. The customer shot the robber in the back multiple times while he was leaving and then he put a slug in his head. That is beyond self-defense. This was excessive force.

I'm not at all surprised they want to put the Good Guy in Jail and let the Bad Guy be the Poor Innocent Guy who was killed! Yep! Innocent! They will make a Martyr out of the Hoodlum!! This is why we're told never to shoot a person who is retreating! Now the Family will come after this Good Samaritan and sue him. They will come out of the Woodwork because this guy killed their Son who always made a room light up when he came in, he was such a Sweet Boy, never would hurt anyone..and on and on and on!!

This is Texas, and this man was a hero!!!!!
No jury in Texas would find him guilty (since they know he was a hero).
No judge would find him guilty (since they know he is a hero).
I'm guessing this will be the quickest grand jury in the history of Texas. The verdict: This man was a hero, so quit wasting our time and get some real criminal cases before us!!!!

Soros-funding is subverting America. Republicans can either DO something about it or continue to twiddle their thumbs.

It was not excessive force by any civilized definition. Maybe a Kalifornia one.
I was on a grand jury some years ago. At that time and place if the jury finds "no bill", that evidence can never be heard again. I'm pretty sure we would have found no bill, and then bought him lunch.

The customer did the community a favor, and should get a medal. The Soros-funded DA should instead go after the Soros-funded Harris County judge Hidalgo and her staff.

Too bad any of this had to happen. This guy was a known criminal out on probation. The slug in the head did the perp a favor as he was going to bleed out ASAP. You level a firearm at anyone, you deserve what you get. If you return fire at an attacker and don't finish the job they can roll over and shoot you in the head. That is why Police will empty their magazine once they begin firing. Lax probation laws and catch and release bails by Soros DAs is why these perps are on the streets.

Armed robbery, while flexible, is a dangerous job. One should be aware of the hazards before choosing it as career.

If you read the whole thing, you’ll learn that he was not arrested nor charged, that he presented himself. Grand jury in this type of shooting is apparently standard operating procedure, that the GJ will likely not indict. If they were to indict, a jury would find him not guilty.
We must read more than headlines, especially at clickbait sites.

The suspected robber? I'm pretty sure the victim was indeed the robber. This was not excessive force. The hero only killed him once.

the first 4 shots were fine
shots 5-8 were questionable
shot 9 when he had secured the perps weapon and put 1 in his head while he was face down and not moving excessive.
but over all I have no issue with the end result

If the robber had got away with it he'd have been on his way to his next victims who might have been killed. So our hero saved lives and the pockets of the folks in the eatery. The thug died doing what he enjoyed.

So an armed robber points a gun at everyone in the restaurant and no one is to fight back, just submit, and possibly get killed. What a travesty that this man is being charged with a crime. ( The fact that the pistol was not real is of NO consequence, as it appeared real ).

#13 is correct. But even if the last five shots--especially #9--were over the line, I wouldn't vote to convict the defender. He took care of a deadly threat (what appeared to be a deadly threat) with finality. That threat will never be repeated by this particular robber. Job well done. And the final five shots didn't kill the perp. The first four in the back were most likely mortal. Potential armed robbers take note: You might be executed by Paul Kersey or one of his successors. Most people will be glad to see the two-legged trash taken to the curb. Armed robbery should be a hazardous profession for armed robbers. If they get killed, they should have known the outcome beforehand. Two dimensions and gone.

A similar situation happened in Oklahoma City where a pharmacist killed a young black armed robber. The pharmacist fired back, dropped the robber, but put a kill shot in his head while he was on the ground. A jury convicted him of first-degree murder. That’s what the DA wil be going for.

I read the article and watched the partial video, which did not contain the details of how many shots were fired, but had the shooter been an off-duty HPD officer, he would likely be convicted of murder in Houston, but perhaps not in Midland or Lubbock. If the shooter is True Billed and the case goes to trial, I hope the defense can get a change of venue, as the shooter would not be likely to be tried by a "jury of his peers" in Houston, especially with a Marxist DA selecting the jury.

I am 100% down with the first 3 shots. The rest were murder. The last shot was an execution. Pumping lead into the perp's back face down is not heroic anymore.

When I first started hearing about Soros buying extreme-left DAs I wondered what his plan was, what was he up to. I think I see it now. It is all to cause societal chaos. The wide-open borders, the "no cash" bail, the Soros-DAs that throw the book at the law-abiders and let the thugs back on the street, the non-stop effort to disarm us all--it's all to cause so much chaos we we lose our country and are 100% dependent on the government, the new-world-order government. Soros is evil personified.

He was at first frightened, and filled with adrenalin. he got his chance and took it, then passion took over, the same passion that a man gets when he shoots a man in bed with his wife. This fool needed killing.

I love how holier-than-thou people (like #3) can say exactly what should have happened, all while sitting in the comfort of their safe and warm living room.
This guy is a hero!!! He was put in a situation that none of us ever hopes to be in. He was running on adrenaline and fear, and was in a situation that he had to act on at a split second's notice. I watched that video many times, and hope I could act as well as he did in that kind of situation!!!
I just wish he had had a 12 round magazine, and could have put another 3 rounds into this subhuman animal!!!

So what, as a possible future defendant he is not obligated to give any information to a Grand Jury. So if the Texas Grand Jury indicts the guy, under the circumstances as they are known today, gathered from witnesses and security video, along with Texas law there is very little chance that a Texas jury would ever convict him of a crime.

If a corrupt DA named Ronnie Earle got away with ruining Tom Delay's career over a bunch of nothing burgers back in the day, the current DA will certainly attempt to ruin this hero's life.

I’m deeply saddened that shooting skills have become so bad that 9 rounds were needed from 5 feet away. Sentence him to 100 hours at the range.

If the Soros-funded DA actually locked criminals up rather than kneel before them as they did in this case this real-life hero wouldn't have even been put in this position. Good thing he lawyered up and remained silent.. The DA is not your friend.. Well, unless you are a criminal??
