CNN’s Gangel: Biden’s Classified Docs
‘Looks Terrible,’ ‘Political Gift
to Trump’

Original Article

CNN reporter Jamie Gangel said Monday on “The Situation Room” that reports that President Joe Biden had classified documents from his time as vice president in his personal office was a political gift to former president Donald Trump. Anchor Wolf Blitzer said, “In that ’60 Minutes’ interview Biden did on September 18, 2022 about a month or two before these classified documents were found in his private office here in Washington, he said, ‘How could this possibly happen? How anyone could be that irresponsible? That’s what he said then, and then they discovered these SCI, these very sensitive classified documents at his private office in Washington.”

CNN, have your WH reporter ask KJP about those documents. Doocy can't do all the work.

It is not a "Gift" to Trump...it is Biden etal "Hoist on their own Petard", IE: Blown up by their own bomb, The Trump docs were treated as "Bombshells" by Biden the Media and the Select Committees/AG/FBI/Special Prosecutor. (a petard is a small explosive charge used to blow open/breach a door, wall or defense...small enough in fact that it is a derivation from the word Petere...To Break wind...a F*rt) These Gasbags Gassed themselves. Yet again. "Liberal Hypocrisy is the one constant in an ever changing world."

It figured that Gangel looks at this "gaff" as a gift to Trump and not a national security issue. I was an avid buyer and reader of her husband's (Daniel Silva) mysteries for as long as he wrote them, as were tons of others who loved the Israeli art restorer and spy's tales---wonderfully written. And then Silva, in his next to last book, wrote about an American President (guess who, but not named) being in collusion with Russia via a Swiss bank, etc. I never finished the book, and never again have bought or even read Silva........nor have others, obviously. His LAST book, and they were all reliably NYTimes et al. best sellers, showed up way down the list for about 20 minutes and then disappeared. So has Silva's book writing career, I would suspect. But I am sure he and Jamie feel virtuous and happy, if a little poorer. I will NOT forget.

I, too, have read all of Silva's books with art restorer/Mossad agent Gabriel Allon, and enjoyed them all. And then The Cellist (2021) came out and it could have just as easily been co-authored by his wife - the above mentioned Jamie Gangel - and other staff at CNN, and the bias was blatant. I have his latest on hold at my library, will probably read it soonish. Don't doubt that he probably alienated a % of his readers with his previous book. It certainly pi$$ed me off.

I'm thinking CNN has changed colors slightly, hoping to knock Biden down a bit. They must have their sights on a new Dem in 2024. Did Hakeem's disgusting speech on the night of McCarthy's victory jazz them up?

I, too, was a major fan of Silvia’s books and was so disappointed when he added the snark about the American president. It was and is so unnecessary. A writer of his talent shouldn’t have to resort to political sniping to write superb novels. I really, really hope he’ll wake up.

I was too #5...devoured Silva's books, often staying up all night to finish them in one sitting. The characters, especially Gabriel Allon, and plots seemed drawn from real life. Like you, I stopped reading his next to last book just as I did Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch series. Really miss those heroes. There's still Scott Harvath and Mitch Rapp but even those characters have become boring and the plots very formulaic. If anyone has discovered some new heroes, I'm interested.

As to the Nextdoor posters who were deeply offended by Silva's The Cellist....if they continue to read him I hope, as one mentioned, they get the book via the on hold at their local library rather than buying it.. (I myself will not even do that--......and am still angry that he and wife Jamie sniped at Trump, just could not resist. And I am not even a Trump person. Proof of the pudding is that Gangel, even though CNN now "intends" to report down the middle due to disastrous ratings, could not resist putting her anti Trump, anti Republican spin on her "reporting"---- actually not reporting but gratuitous editorializing. Much as I loved the books, I can't trust Silva anymore, so I am voting with my pocketbook .

For the record - I have a standing policy of never spending any $$ on current popular fiction. Always get them at my library. Can't justify spending ~$25 for a book I will read in a matter of days. I may spend a few bucks at my local used book store to find some earlier books when I explore a new character series if my library doesn't have them still. For those looking for a character other than Harvath or Rapp, check out the Gray Man series by Mark Greaney. The 12th book comes out in Feb. In re: #11 - I was surprised - and disappointed - when Connelly 'went there' with the political snark 2(?) books ago.

Also disappointed in Connelly's snark, though I suspect once you reach his $$$$ level you are welcomed to and bask in a Liberal bubble. John Sandford's Prey books are excellent; ditto Jonathan Kellerman's books. They feature major characters who reappear as old friends. Some of the Karin Slaughter books are also very good. We are talking about mysteries here, which, like baroque music, almost mathematically explain the world.

With the reported discovery of a second batch of highly classified documents connected to President Biden, the decisions of Attorney General Merrick Garland are fast moving from the inexplicable to incomprehensible. Garland was presumably briefed that classified documents were discovered in Joe Biden’s old office on Nov. 2. At the time of the appointment of Jack Smith, some of us noted the inexplicable refusal of Garland to appoint a special counsel to look into alleged Biden influence peddling and other crimes.
