As I’ve said in the past, I’ve never been a fan of the silliness of labeling political opponents. This is not to be confused with humorous “nicknames” — the most clever of which I enjoy, and have coined a few — but rather attempting to paint an adversary into a particular corner defined by you. Third-party “you,” that is. And of course, the most popular label by far among certain factions of the Republican Party is “RINO.” The definition of “RINO” — Republican in Name Only — not only used to be easy to understand; it was easy to identify Republicans who fit the RINO mold. In the 1990s,

If WE as republicans hope to win back control of all three branches of our government we will need to stop labelling those who don't run lock-step in a Nazi goosestep of uniform priorities as anything but 'fellow Republicans'. If we are viewed by Independents and suburban woman as argumentative name-callers we will never win back that political control and we will never have the power to restore American values and health while wresting back our country from ALL those in and out of government who hate the USA.

Well, given that RINO's are actually the vast majority of the Republican Party now, I can sort of understand Mike's confusion. Perhaps Mike would prefer " The Republican wing of the Uniparty"? Or my favorite: DIABLOS (Democrats In All But Label Only) (Which 'purely by coincidence means Devils' in spanish)

That's easy to answer: The ones who fight their own party members who oppose the Demzis harder than they fight the Demzis. Those ones are RINOs. The ones truly fighting for American people and not for the Federal Government, well, are there any?

Mike just because you label yourself a "Constitutional Conservative" doesn't make you one. If you were you'd see the majority of the Republican Party seems to be following the Democrats script...big government, bailouts, etc. Instead of leading they have learned the art of the compromise which has turned this country into a third world hellhole. Haven't you noticed the Democrats NEVER compromise with Republicans but we do with them and fight like hell against our own party. To make it easy for you to understand instead of calling them RINO's call them "Right of Center" Democrats because that is what they are. True Republicans are limited government and willing to fight.

Individuals can agree to disagree. The RINO is a person who runs as a conservative and governs as a democrat lite. If the person consistently crosses over and votes to raise taxes and spending, who only appears in the major media to slam fellow Republicans, who votes more consistently with Democrats.... This is a RINO. Look at who voted for the massive over spending budgets of the last few decades, these are RINO's. Who rarely has anything bad to say about the Democrats but always manages to slam the Republican base and conservative legislator's, these are RINO's. What presidents are kissing up to the Clintons, and the O'bama's these were/are RINO's.

When the Biden administration renews the Covid public health emergency this week, it will mark the 11th time since the coronavirus arrived that the government declared its presence a national crisis. It may also be the last. Senior Biden officials are targeting an end to the emergency designation for Covid as soon as the spring, after debating doing so last summer and taking a pass, three people with knowledge of the matter told POLITICO. Should they do so, such a move would represent a major pivot point in the country’s battle with the pandemic. The decision, which has not yet been finalized

Among the items from Joe Biden’s time as vice president discovered in a private office last fall are 10 classified documents including US intelligence memos and briefing materials that covered topics including Ukraine, Iran and the United Kingdom, according to a source familiar with the matter. Attorney General Merrick Garland has received a preliminary report on the documents inquiry, a law enforcement source said, and now faces the critical decision on how to proceed, including whether to open a full-blown criminal investigation. John Lausch Jr., the US attorney in Chicago, has briefed Garland multiple times. No additional briefings are scheduled but would be conducted if necessary, a source said.

It doesn’t come as any surprise to regular Power Line readers that the politically and economically motivated climate hysteria with which we are constantly bombarded is false. This piece by Javier Vinós at Watts Up With That, titled “Good 2022 Climate News the MSM didn’t tell you,” does an excellent job of summing up the reality that is usually obscured. As Vinos says, there has been mild warming during the last 40 years. But the rate of warming has been slowing down, not accelerating as the alarmists’ models predict: [T]he good news that no one is telling us is that global warming is slowing down.

I guess there are still some issues which cross party lines. I’m actually relieved to see it because this is an issue where we really can’t afford to be divided. Today Republicans and Democrats in the House joined forces to form a new select committee on China. House Republicans and Democrats on Tuesday joined forces and voted overwhelmingly in favor of a new committee to examine U.S. strategic competition with China, after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy declared on the House floor that neither Republicans nor Democrats trust China anymore. “We spent decades passing policies that welcomed China into the global system,” McCarthy said. “In return

The Pentagon is formally dropping a controversial COVID-19 vaccine mandate for troops, according to a memo from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. President Joe Biden signed a defense policy bill just before Christmas that included a provision cleared by the House and the Senate to repeal the administration’s military vaccine mandate. The National Defense Authorization Act terminated the COVID-19 vaccine for military members but did not reinstate those who were discharged or had their benefits cut for refusing the vaccine. Reinstatement has become a priority for some Republicans who said the strict mandate is among the reasons why military recruitment is at an all-time low.

It’s far more money than legislators have ever had at their disposal, with an increase in available funds that dwarfs any previous jumps between cycles, thanks largely to a tax-collection windfall that left the state flush with cash, Hegar said. A big problem Democrats and the complicit media have when it comes to the discovery of classified documents in President Joe Biden’s former office at a Washington think tank is that they set the precedent with their response to former President Donald Trump allegedly possessing classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home. Another problem they have little interest in is that the documents were at a “Chinese-funded” think tank, according to Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark. It was on the latter note that Trump had plenty to say, with the media quick to dismiss his assertions as “wild speculation” — the odd thing about Trump’s speculations is that, over time,

President Joe Biden announced the repayment plan in August, but it was overshadowed by his sweeping plan to slash or eliminate student debt for 40 million Americans. Despite the low profile of the payment plan, however, some education experts see it as a more powerful tool to make college affordable, especially for those with lower incomes.
