Scientists generally agree that the universe – defined as everything in existence – has not always existed. It came into existence with a bang about 13 billion years ago. This bang was a big one, so they named it the “Big Bang.”
Before the Big Bang, there was no space, no energy and no time – not even empty space, zero energy or stopped time. There was nothing.
And then everything was created out of this nothing. We call this everything “creation.” It’s the tangible universe around us, seen and unseen. It’s the energy, the matter, and the progression of time.

I used to teach anatomy & physiology to pre-doctors and nurses. If one has any doubt about the existence of God, take a good anatomy course. We are made of about 35 trillion cells - 200 different types of cells. Muscles, nerves, bones, skin, glands all working in coordination to make a living being. A single cell is a complex combination of biochemistry and organelles that creates energy and reproduces itself. A single cell may hold 40,000,000 protein molecules. A cell is so complex that there is no way even the simplest single cell could be an accidental accumulation of molecules that suddenly came to life, let alone trillions of cells gathering together to make a living being. Only our divine creator could have done that. Merry Christmas.

All the complexities described by #1 exist both in a dead body and a living person. What then is the detectable difference?

Great post. Thanks for the reminder about the intricacies and complexities of our bodies, #1. As you say, that couldn't be an accident. Merry Christmas to you as well.

And yet! Man is the most recent from the Creation. Has the most to learn from those who came before him!

In the 1800's the "Steady State Universe" theory was the "settled science," and it provided the perfect stage for Darwin's "Evolution" stagecraft. That was before the discovery of earth's prior history of Dinosaurs and uniquely different flora and fauna. It was also before the discovery of Carbon Dating, which shortened the life of earth and creatures. It was also before the discovery of the background radiation of the universe and its singular point of origin, leading to the "Big Bang Theory". It was also before the Bacterial Theory of Disease, Viruses and their impacts, and most notably the discovery of DNA, which codifies every living organism. Darwinism is now so full of scientific incongruities and falsehoods that even dedicated evolutionists are softening to the idea of a "benign force" behind creation.
Throughout human history mankind's "science" changes with great frequency, while Holy Scripture stands the test of time in areas of history, archaeology, and science. Most people can quote Genesis 1:1 -
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
But do they realize that the Hebrew verb for "created" here is בָּרָ֣א (bā·rā), meaning to create from 'absolutely nothing'? Does that comport with the "Big Bang"? Yes, and Moses wrote it in the Torah over 3,500 years ago.,
The One who made our Universe is none other than the One whose birth we celebrate tomorrow. In Hebrews 1:10 we are told;
"In the beginning, O Lord, You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
The small "innocent" child, who lay in a livestock feeding-trough behind an Inn that was "too full" to accommodate the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, was wrapped in "swaddling cloth" used to wrap a corpse for burial, and was none other than the Creator of the Universe, who, by His Omnipotence, simultaneously controlled the universe, the courses of planets, the power of the Sun, the comets and other celestial objects, and keeping all things in their order to suit His purposes... and NOTHING from man can overcome His Will.
Happy Birthday, Lord Jesus Christ!

Some great posts here, folks. Even our most brilliant scientists don’t have the intellect to really explain creation. We are like toddlers trying to decipher a Rubiks Cube. Some entity created all that we can see with our limited intelligence. Maybe 10,000 years from now we will have a better understanding but, for now, I will go with my all powerful creator and his Son.

Recently, I learned that strips of cloth used to swaddle little newborn lambs to keep them from hurting themselves were also called swaddling cloths. A shepherd explained how the tiny newborns before being set to their ewe to nurse, was looked over very carefully to see any marks or abrasions that could be, as these were the lambs presented at the Temple for sacrifices so perfection was expected. Now it brings the story of the Lamb of God a little bit closer in my thoughts. Some neonatal nurses also swaddle tiny newborns to give them comfort.

In the beginning was the Word... without Him nothing was made that has been made.

#7~ Exemplary post. Sincerely appreciated.
Indeed #7, “The One who made our Universe is none other than the One whose birth we celebrate tomorrow.” On the sixth day, God created man. (Genesis 1:26-27) A “study of the human genome concluded, by tracing markers on the male chromosome, that all human beings have one common male ancestor.” That “one common male ancestor” is Adam. “The Hebrew word for man (adam) is the generic term for mankind and becomes the proper name Adam.” (Genesis 1:26)
