Democrat Senator Chris Coons (DE) on Friday admitted he doesn’t even know what’s in the $1,7 trillion Omnibus spending bill. The $1.7 trillion Pelosi-Schumer spending bill passed the senate this week 68-29. The bill is more than 4,000 pages. Both chambers of Congress rammed the bill through without reading any of it or debating. There is zero funding for the border wall but Ukraine gets another $45 billion. “Well, Joe, I voted for the omnibus and I’m proud to support it, but I don’t like the process. A bipartisan group of senators on the floor of the Senate were talking about how we can change this process going forward because frankly,

Senators and congressman should have to pass a written test on the main contents of the bill before they can vote on it. No pass no vote— computerize it with test first then a page allowing them to vote if the pass the criteria.

It's too late to get an amendment to the Constitution now; it would never get through congress. But it would have been nice to have a requirement that any bill introduced to congress had to be read IN FULL, IN PERSON, to a QUORUM, by the person who introduced it... before it could be voted on. 5,000+ page omnibus packages would never occur.

The script is sickeningly familiar by now, isn’t it? Establishment Republicans -- led throughout the ’22 elections and in their aftermath by the notorious Kentucky senator-for-life Mitch McConnell -- betrayed their party’s base, which is staunchly conservative, increasingly in an America First sorta way.  Yes, lest one is confused because of all the serial betrayals, we’re referring to the gross obscenity called the “$1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill.” For true-blue conservatives, the brazen middle-finger thrust rudely into their faces by McConnell and seventeen other Senate go-alongs should be an act of war. Political war, that is.

All Democrats voted in favor of the action while all Republicans on the panel voted against. Temperatures in Northeast Florida may dip into the low 20s inland and near 30 along the coast, the National Weather Service in Jacksonville said Monday. The cold-blooded lizards start to get sluggish when temperatures fall below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. As temperatures drop lower, iguanas become stiff, with those perching in trees often falling to the ground. While the low temperatures stun the invasive reptiles, the iguanas won’t necessarily die. That means many will wake up as temperatures rise.
