It’s simple: In a head-to-head matchup, Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis might be able to take down former President Donald Trump in 2024. In a crowded field, Trump will win easily.
This isn’t just my opinion. It’s what Trump’s own inner circle believes. In a story published Thursday, the Washington Examiner collected anonymous statements from more than half a dozen Trump insiders, and the consensus was clear:
“Though DeSantis currently matches or beats Trump head to head in many national polls, Trumpworld predicts the Florida governor will fizzle as former Vice President Mike Pence, Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Tim Scott (R-SC),

Omg, just stop with the DeSantis as President nonsense.
The man has never so much as hinted coyly he wants to run. This is 100% media fantasy.
If he runs and takes the primary, the very same media that loves him so much today will do a 180 and tells how he's "Just like Trump but so much worse! He's a racist and hates women and Blacks and victimizes trans! DeSantis is worse than Hitler and wants to kill and eat old people and destroy democracy!"
We have seen this every 4 years for decades.
Let him actually declare his interest and then we can talk about it.

To answer the headline, he needs to keep doing what he is doing.
To answer #1, who is correct, pardon many of us for drooling over someone who enacts policy and speaks clearly unlike the rest of the “field.”

DeSantis 2024. Trump is too old, bitter, polarizing (like Hillary) and can’t win over independents and swing voters. He lost the Georgia senate seat three times and started a stupid feud with popular governor Kemp. We need Georgia! BTW, where’s the wall he promised? Number 1 promise in 2016. How’s that swamp? Is Hillary in jail? Trump has become a pathetic cult no better than Stacy Abrams whining about the last election. In politics you don’t sit around and wait your turn.

I’m sick of the 2024 election already. IIRC, JFK didn’t even declare himself a candidate until about 3 months before the 1960 election. I would love for that to be the policy today.

It would be nice to live one single week or day without being bludgeoned by politics, spam ads, and election attention-getting crap. The constant minute-by-minute group think and mind-manipulation from the deep state really needs to go away.

Right now no one has any idea where DeSantis stands on any foreign affairs issue.
For him to gain supporters he's got to let voters know where he is on all of those issues.

All of this garbage being spewed by all these so-called commentators and experts about the 2024 republican nomination regarding President Trump versus Governor DeSantis, ignore the stark reality that no matter who the republican party nominates, there is no longer fair and free elections in this country, that we are no longer a two party system after the past mid-term elections and the absolute betrayal of the republican voter base by the republican traitors in the Senate and House, and it will make no difference whatsoever who is elected in the continued decline and destruction of our once great nation.
Unfortunately we are now rapidly approaching the point where personal survival on a daily basis will be paramount. That is our future. We are, at this point, like the Israelites wandering in the desert searching for the promised land.

2, I get it. He's my governor and doing a great job. He might even make a great president. But Gee enough already with the drooling media headlines trying to push him into it. They absolutely will turn on him.
It wasn't that long ago he was Hitler when he came down on Disney and the falsely named "don't say gay" bill to protect the youngest children from trans groomers (which didn't go far enough, middle schoolers and higher are still subject to abuse in school). But with the 24 election already gearing up suddenly the media simply stopped talking about those things. Dead silence. Don't want to hurt his poll numbers too early. They'll save it for later after they appoint him the R nominee. And someone else above made a good point that we have no idea what his foreign policy would look like.
There's lots of time left to sort things out. No need for the leftist media shills here to push a dozen DeSantis articles every day.

NO! He needs to stop taking money from Wall Street Globalists. Trump is his own man. DeSantis is not. That is the biggest reason I will continue support PDT as long he wants to run.

OMG, maybe we could stop with the Trump as President nonsense. He proved he "won" in '20 and he's still fuming in Mar-a-Lago not the White House. Why? Go figure... The bottom line is that the same forces arrayed against him, and denied by the UNIPARTY winners will coalesce again if Trump indeed begins to behave like a serious threat. He couldn't defeat them in '20, and he won't defeat them in '24, even selling nifty superhero trading "cards".
FTA: In 2020, the Democratic machine succeeded where the GOP had failed. Eventual nominee Joe Biden finished fourth in Iowa and fifth in New Hampshire.
Biden became the candidate when the threat of too-left Warren and Sanders became real. He won when the other two were bought out in favor of Biden, a known UNIPARTY made man. It was meant to hold off the crazies with a white bread candidate.
DeSantis will be the next GOP Presidential candidate. The others will get the word from the money men - that there isn't any cash or them. Trump, if he carries on, will get his indictment and a perp walk. (Watch the state of New York.)
The cultists can carry on with their fervor. They'll rage as the UNIPARTY machine comes down on FPDT, or fume as FPDT shrinks from the campaign, perhaps unable to leave Florida due to threat of arrest and extradition. Politics ain't beanbag. Napoleon isn't going to be allowed back from Elbe this time.

I like what he's been doing in Fl, but his ties to WEF and democrats is very troubling. The MSM will do everything to hide this, until he is the nominee, then it will all come out and depress the conservative vote. Time to do the work to find this all out before the nomination process.

#10: If the facts are checked out you will find that Trump took a lot of money from deep pockets/special interests, both in 2016 and 2020. They haven't been lining up to write a third check for 2024. They see the writing on the all - Trump can't win a general election. Trump is too toxic to too many swing voters (e.g. women, and Independents).

If there is so little difference between Ron DeSantis and the likes of Mike Pence and Nikki Haley that they would "clear the field" for him then who needs Ron DeSantis?
