WASHINGTON D.C. – Fox News spoke to Americans who say they were forced to save cash and buy fewer holiday gifts this year as congressional leaders push a $1.7 trillion spending package, which critics warn could fuel ongoing inflation. "I have saved to be able to do Christmas with the kids," Irene, from Arizona, told Fox News. "Things are a lot more expensive." HOW HAS INFLATION IMPACTED AMERICANS' CHRISTMAS BUDGETS?

Comments:

Well, they have to have money to give away to other countries and to all the illegals invading our borders.

I’m old enough to remember when our national debt was under 5 trillion and the yearly budget was actually debated on the House Floor. Ah yes, those were the days.

I'm on a fixed income and it is down right traumatic this year. Fortunately, I did a lot of that kind of shopping earlier in the year. It would be nice to afford FOOD.

Putting my editing skills to work here. "Congress readies monster spending bill, and they can give two cents that Americans say they can't afford as many presents this Christmas" I remember when trillion was just a number, and I thought we'd never ever have a need to spend a trillion dollars in my lifetime. Not at least until 2050 or later.

Exuberant public spending has inflated costs and deflated by resources. Christmas giving is much thinner this year. The good news is that I do not have to lock my doors…thieves would not find much to take.

Our deep state knows all too well how to play their game. Pass a reckless spending bill and get it signed into law by biden the cheater just ahead of Christmas weekend. Then we peasants will be mad as hell for a few days, then presto chango, the deep state goes on holiday, Christmas day is here, Turtle and the rest of these corrupt clowns are off the hook as the spending bill falls out of the news cycle, and Americans are then brainwashed by the msm to think about something else. A 4,150-page spending bill. You have to be kidding me. I wonder what group think will condition us with next.

The deep state GOPe thieves did a double backstab on the conservative Republican base. Amnesty and this $1.7 trillion spending bill. Amnesty likely won’t pass. But one bill out of the two is enough to send me downtown to drop Republican Party affiliation.

Yeah, but... I can't wait until the Michelle Obama trail is built so I can follow the hoofprints for a couple of miles and read the hundreds of plaques that spell out her accomplishments. My favorite is when she declared her love for America because we gave them a free home, armed security and a $400K per year salary for doing basically nothing. I could learn to love Uganda or Venezuela if they did that for me.

Please don’t worry, people. The Biden family, the Pelosi family, even the Zelensky family will have a lovely Christmas. There will be plenty of gifts and food for all. Why even poor Mrs. Zelensky managed to get away from her war ravaged country and spend more than $40,000 Christmas shopping in Paris. I feel sure her fellow oligarch Ukrainian wives are doing the same since much of the billions and billions of dollars we’ve sent them goes to funding their pensions. I feel I can say truthfully that this administration, the Biden family, Mitch McConnell, etc. couldn’t care less about the citizens of this country. And they prove it everyday.

contrary to popular thought Christmas isn't about Santa Claus, gifts under the tree and betting drunk - no - it's about the birth of our Saviour who ultimately gave his life for us, this has to be remembered if we are to celebrate this holiday in a proper way

I manage our church's food pantry. We are getting slammed by requests for help from all over the metro area. Throw in the high price of gasoline, increased rents, and a cold winter that will result in high heating bills, and you have the federal recipe for a disaster. Since most of them are millionaires, I don't expect our political masters care much beyond a photo op to two.

The corruption of Washington DC is nearly absolute. I am reminded of what Patricia Heaton said to the effect that one's hopes cannot be placed in the hands of the powerful, the venal, the connivers - but in the faith that goodness will prevail. Find the courage to take action in even small ways to reject hopelessness hatred.

It’s simple: In a head-to-head matchup, Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis might be able to take down former President Donald Trump in 2024. In a crowded field, Trump will win easily. This isn’t just my opinion. It’s what Trump’s own inner circle believes. In a story published Thursday, the Washington Examiner collected anonymous statements from more than half a dozen Trump insiders, and the consensus was clear:  “Though DeSantis currently matches or beats Trump head to head in many national polls, Trumpworld predicts the Florida governor will fizzle as former Vice President Mike Pence, Sens. The HHS’ “National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease” said black, Hispanic and low-income populations are more likely to face health-related risk factors that contribute to Alzheimer’s and said this disparity is due to “structural inequities” that are the result of racism.
