Independence bill goes to US House vote

Puerto Ricans could move a step closer to a referendum on whether the island should become a U.S. state when the House of Representatives votes Thursday on a bill outlining the process. A House committee approved the Puerto Rico Status Act on Wednesday, paving the way for the full House vote. The bill was cosponsored by Representative Nydia Velazquez, a Democrat from New York.  The legislation lays out terms of a plebiscite as well as three potential self-governing statuses - independence, full US statehood or sovereignty with free association with the United States.

This will go a long way to locking up permanent Democrat control of the US. It will be a 100% democrat controlled, 100% corrupt, and a 100% welfare State that will cost US taxpayers billions every year.

What, Puerto Ricans now want to pay income tax, just so they can have two senators and a Congressional rep who get rolled by Democrat grandees in the House and Senate? What exactly has Puerto Rico (or Washington, D.C. for that matter) done to deserve statehood, and why is it in the best interests of this nation to make them both states? Crooked Democrats want to pack the Supreme Court and make this country a distatorship, and that´s the only reason this ridiculous idea keeps coming up. And who sponsored the bill to make P.R. a state? Why, Representative Nydia Velazquez, a Democrat from New York, of course. (Puerto Rican statehood is very important to the State of New York, you see. New Yorkers need the pineapples.)

Why not show what a great country we are by granting PR independence? The US did this with the Philippines after we seized it from Spain. So let’s trust the citizens of PR with managing their island. Or, at least offer this drain on our taxpayers by returning it to Spain. An offer the Spanish government would quickly decline because it is struggling with the costs of running its own country, Unfortunately, offering political freedom to PR would be rejected by most of it citizens because they prefer the welfare state we provide and the ability to freely travel to the US if leftists seize control. But please, don’t allow PR to become a state.

Report: National Guard to Send Final Paycheck

President Joe Biden’s administration reportedly failed to send National Guard troops their final paycheck of the year during the week of Christmas, according to a letter sent to troops obtained by The Post Millennial. The National Guard troops’ paychecks were disrupted due to congressional drama surrounding the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill that Congress recently approved. After weeks of negotiation, Congress came to a deal on the omnibus spending package. Included in the spending bill is, among other things, a $45 billion aid package for Ukraine. The $45 billion is on top of the $66 billion taxpayer dollars that have already been used to fund Ukrainian aid.

Former President Donald Trump exclusively shared with Breitbart News his latest campaign video, in which he blasts Democrats for releasing his personal tax returns and calls on the incoming Republican-led House of Representatives to obtain and release President Joe Biden’s financial records. On Tuesday, the Democrat-led House Means and Ways Committee voted along party lines to release Trump’s tax returns. Within hours, it published data from Trump’s 2015-2020 returns. The Committee obtained the documents through an appeals court ruling that ordered Trump to turn them over following a years-long legal battle.

New York Democrats voted to give themselves a 29 percent salary increase just days before Christmas, potentially making Albany the highest-paid state legislature in the nation.  Members of the state Assembly and Senate would make a base salary of $142,000 under a bill they passed during a special session, a $32,000 raise from their current $110,000. Their new salary is three times the average New Yorkers' salary of $43,208. Their last pay raise was in 2018, when they went from $79,500 to $110,000. It was the first time in 20 years New York Legislators received an increase. Their pay in 1998 was $57,500.
