With Abrams aide’s Tweets,
Democrats’ wake-up call goes to voicemail

Original Article

The 2022 elections should have been a wake-up call for Georgia Democrats after they lost eight of nine statewide races in November and saw the defeat of some of the party’s biggest, brightest stars. With the notable exception of U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock, Democrats lost by larger margins in 2022 than they did in 2018, but with more money, stronger candidates, and a growing Georgia population that is younger, more diverse, and more closely aligned with their politics.

Comments:

I'm sharing this article for 2 reasons -- one of which is that GA remains an unheralded GOP victory in the 2022 midterms. The GA GOP was ready, had a plan and it worked. The other reason is that Warnock didn't follow the same playbook as the rest of the GA DEM party. He ran as a moderate suburban white guy. A centrist. A nice guy who just wants to represent GA. It was a big lie, but it worked. And sadly, Walker had more baggage than Paris Hilton...very hard to overcome.

Sounds like they should keep listening to her....she's a proven king or queen maker--this will guarantee her being invited to all of the big Party banquets so she can keep her weight up before her next "walk on the water".

Obviously Georgia Democrats are not up to speed with the national Democrat vote kleptocracy. They need to attend seminars conducted by Arizona, Pennsylvania and Michigan Democrats on how to steal elections and then scream innocence when caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

There is another factor here. "The Tank" was a media creation. After she came close to getting in a runoff with Kemp on her first try, the media went into an over-the-top, fawning love-fest for Abrams. Some hailed her as the new "power-player" in the party who could go all the way to national office, even POTUS. LOL. Shades of Michael Avenetti. The simple fact is that she was a lousy candidate. She is fat, unattractive and prone to stupid gaffes like saying there was no fetus heartbeat at six weeks and that Georgia was the worst state in the US to live in. It's also amusing that the MSM seems to have dropped her like a used condom now that she has lost twice and no longer useful.

#2 -- If you recall, Trump attacked Kemp and not the other way around. For the record, Georgia was the first state in the country to "re-open" and we got criticized for it by everyone -- including Trump. He literally said that he thought Kemp opened too early in Georgia and that he wasn't sure if that was the right decision. Kemp never criticized Trump and did his best not to get sucked into saying anything negative about him, even when baited by the press. #3 - Clearly, you didn't read the article. By the way, Georgia kept the House and Senate and flipped a congressional state. We're hardly blue or even purple. Warnock ran as a suburban, moderate centrist against a very tainted candidate (and btw, I voted for Walker).

As Congresswoman Liz Cheney was being decisively repudiated by the voters of Wyoming (66 percent to 29 percent is a repudiation), her smug Eastern establishment certainty of moral virtue remained intact. However, in describing her situation with the words of Abraham Lincoln, she skewed the historic record. If Lincoln had only garnered 29 percent support in his 1858 U.S. Senate race against Stephen Douglas, he would never have been president.

Roberts explicitly sided with his conservative colleagues in their majority opinion to uphold Mississippi's ban on abortions following 15 weeks of pregnancy. However, in his concurring opinion, he expressed a difference in opinion with his colleagues on the matter of overturning the court's decades-old decision in Roe v. Wade, which gives women the constitutional right to abortion.

Why Does the GOP Elite Hate Its Own Base? 42 replies
Posted by GustoGrabber 12/9/2022 6:47:13 AM Post Reply
It is one of the most bitter and tragic ironies of our contemporary politics that the leadership of one of America’s two major political parties, the Republican Party, utterly despises that party’s very own voting base. The GOP elite’s scorn for its own voters has, at this point, been a long time in the making. The trend accelerated during the 2009-2011 rise of the Tea Party, a grassroots movement fueled by constitutionalism and anti-elite populism. The crustier elements of the Republican establishment ran as far away as possible from the Tea Party, and the 2012 presidential coronation of private equity plutocrat Mitt Romney effectively killed the movement.

The breakthrough in ancient DNA analysis pushes back the DNA record by 1m years to a time when the Arctic region was 11-19C warmer than the present day. The analysis reveals that the northern peninsula of Greenland, now a polar desert, once featured boreal forests of poplar and birch trees teeming with wildlife.
