The Biden administration has quietly approved plans to build a new crude oil terminal in the Gulf of Mexico off Texas, seemingly in contradiction to the president’s climate agenda.
The Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration approved the application (pdf) for Enterprise’s Sea Port Oil Terminal, one of four proposed offshore oil export terminals,
(snip) 4.8 million barrels of storage capacity and add 2 million barrels per day to the U.S. oil export capacity. “(snip) a reliable source of crude oil to U.S. allies in the event of market disruption and have a minimal impact on the availability and cost of crude oil in the U.S. domestic market.”

Proof that the Biden policies have nothing to do with the environment or global warming, but rather with the destruction of America as we have known it.

Peak monthly crude production, aug 2019, b4 pandemic, 407 million barrels. Peak oil month 2022 371 million bbls. Price of diesel 2022…sky high..how in the world would an export of 60 million bbls per month, 1/6 of our production, hsve a minimal impact on our supply? This admin is fully removed from reality

Soros, or China, or one of the other of Biden's owners must be going to benefit from this terminal.

#10, Average American citizens like me are the ones that make our livelihood in the petroleum industry. You are welcome to shut oil out of your life if you like.
To answer some other questions, a lot of Texas oil is a lighter oil that is needed in places that produce heavier oil that is better for producing diesel and fuel oil. Several of the refineries here were overhauled to refine heavy crude from places such as Venezuela before the old Democrat policies choking our petroleum industries were changed under BUXH. (Windfall profits tax and no exports allowed).
We can sell a little of our lite crude at a premium price and buy heavier crude at a slightly lower price and combine them for our own refineries enabling them to operate much, much smoother.
Of course, being able to sell things to other countries enables us to pay for some of the stuff we import, like underwear, medicine, and virtually everything.

Perhaps the US is going into the business of exporting the oil we purchased from Russia and Venezuela? Probably at a loss. The US doesn't have oil to export. Perhaps this is part of Biden's strategy to get the US off of fossil fuels. We will sell it rather than use it. Gasoline shortages will get worse. Further incentive for people to purchase an EV which our government 'leaders' are heavily invested in.
Welcome to bizarro world. People voted for this.

My guess is to EXport oil from Chi-com owned oil fields here in the US, to China.
Lyin' Biden is bought, paid for, and in the pocket of the ChiComs.

A "minimal impact on the availability and cost of crude oil in the U.S. domestic market.”? I can only assume that big terminal will only serve to send our oil overseas and none will continue to be processed for us. We'll end up like Ukraine this year. No energy for heat.

I guess the Biteme administration is looking at this as a way to reduce the huge deficits their political party has created by selling oil. The oil won't go into the strategic reserve, and it won't reduce the price of energy in this country when completed. That's not their plan. The only good thing is that by the time these terminals are completed, the Biteme administration will be just an ugly memory.

Just remember we are being lied to on a daily basis about everything. Figures don't add up when it comes to dollars spent in Ukraine, employment numbers, illegal invader numbers right down to barrels of oil we only know it's expensive to purchase. This is a fraud government with a fraud as president who resides in the nation's White House. I wouldn't believe a thing that is told to us by this cabal of lying thieves. Exporting oil, why? I guess the purpose is to deplete fossil fuel quicker to go all electric in the next few years. FJB

This administration doesn't do anything ...unless it benefits them...so let's think about how this move could benefit them...somebody in DC is getting nervous about fuel supply...why now...is it because gas prices are about to skyrocket now...and they need a new narrative....always remember... if the right hand of the government is moving...pay no attention...watch what the left hand is doing...

These type of projects were getting discussed if not built over 10 years ago. Relates to widening of Panama Canal opening opportunities for export of LNG etc.

So, is the reality of his idiotic policies regarding the oil and gas industry finally sinking in? When people can't even find fuel for their vehicles, let alone afford it, they are going to blow their tops.
