Vote Latino President María Teresa Kumar argued on Saturday that gerrymandering was a factor in Gov. Ron DeSantis’ re-election, despite his race being a statewide office. Kumar appeared as a guest host on MSNBC’s "Velshi," where a panel discussed former President Trump’s effect on the Republican Party. The discussion soon focused on DeSantis as a kind of successor to "Trumpism" for his rise in popularity
However, Kumar claimed that his success, even in the state of Florida, is due not to DeSantis’ record as governor, but because he "gerrymandered" the state.

Understanding cause and affect is not MSNBC’s strong suit. They just can’t admit that Democrat politics suck.

Only a MSNBC viewer would believe anything that stupid. He won by over 35 points in my county alone.

Kinda hard to "gerrymander" a state-wide race, I would have thought.

How does gerrymandering possibly affect this?????? It's a popular vote.

FTA:gerrymandering has the impact of chilling potential voters for the opposite side of going out and voting.
Poor Dimmies. They get early voting, late voting, ballots delivered on a silver platter, and still can't win in Florida. It's too chilly!

Many thanks to Gerry Mander, who must be the inventor of common sense (according to MSNBC). DeSantis has done an outstanding job as governor of Florida and we are grateful, but I’ve already decided to support Trump to the fullest despite anything stupid slipping from his lips. Darnit, stop acting like leadership demands everyone act like a Boy Scout (like Pence or Jeb!). Trump 2024.

It is true! The Florida Territory was carefully gerrymandered in the 1820s just to ensure that DeSandis would get re-elected by a landslide in 2022.
It is always impressive when a 200-year plot comes to fruition.

Gerrymandering is only OK when it's a demcommie who is doing it, proving that there is, according to national media, one political party, just like in Soviet Russia, Communist China, North Korea and the muslim country's
- nice turn of events when the Iranian soccer team refused to sing their national anthem and that the Ayatollah's house was burned to the ground in Iran

This person is ignorant. Governors don't run in a "gerrymandered" precinct. They run across the whole state. To say DeSantis won because the state is divided up by politicians is stupid to say the least. All states are divided up by politicians but state wide offices, say Secretary of State in some states and Governor and Lt. Governor are all state wide elections.

Kumar must believe that not allowing the voices of dead people constitutes gerrymandering. By the way, I've never met a Latina Kumar, but I do know several Indian-Americans with that surname.

No wonder most democrats are stupid. They watch a "news" network whose shows get beat in the ratings by reruns of Animal Planet and the Cartoon Network.

Kumar runs her fool mouth on national television, clearly not knowing the meaning of gerrymander. I bet she did not even pronounce it correctly with a hard g.
