President Biden said Friday that coal plants are too expensive to operate, and "we're going to be shutting these plants down all across America" in order to shift to wind power in a comment that drew criticism from the Republican National Committee. (Snip) "So it's going to become a wind generation. And all they're doing is it’s going to save them a hell of a lot of money and using the same transmission line that they transmitted the coal-fired electric on, we're going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar power, also providing
The only wind power Biden knows about comes from breaking wind. He's an authority. What a fool.

If they were too expensive to operate, then market forces would already have brought about the switch to wind and solar.
And how much of their expense in operating comes from government putting its thumb on the scale and artificially making them expensive to operate?

And that's why the Chinese are working overtime building coal plants right? And now the Germans too? All you meatheads that voted for this senile idiot need to shut off all the power to your houses and apartments until the entire country is running on wind and solar.

We see how well wind is working in the freezing weather. As for solar, it is only reasonable in climates that have constant sunshine. Biden has no clue about anything and his associates never took a basic course in Physics much less Thermodynamics. God Help America becasue the Democrats are out to destroy us.

Only "politicians" are technologically illiterate enough to say stupid things like this. And FJB is one of the stupidest.
It is not technically feasible to provide the energy the US needs from wind and solar. But I guess we'll have to spend a few trillion dollars - and a lot of frozen dead people - proving that.

Biden has mentally retreated into a world of fantasy. This is truly frightening. Every American should be concerned. It can only be hoped that his decline is so rapid and precipitous that there can be no doubt that he must be removed from office under the 25th Amendment, regardless of who succeeds him.

Wind electricity increases the bill for each consumer by a minimum of 20%, and that will increase a like amount next year. Then, the electricity flicks on and off, sort of like the wind. It is really thrilling.

can you transport wind and sunshine? Can you store it for cloudy still days...and nights? Can you ramp it up/down for immediate demands and reduction in demand?
Can you use solar and wind power to even build solar and wind collectors? Can you use solar and wind to mine the copper, mine the ore, make the steel, make the wires, to manufacture the transmission lines? The equipt,, transformers...appliances...even lightbulbs that use it?

Biden and his cabal are so focused on destroying our ability to produce our own energy from the resources that are so abundant in this country that his actions could only be described as an attack against the homeland. Joe Biden is doing the damage the jihadists only hoped they could do. His loyalty is to whomever pays him the most, either the globalists or the Chinese, or both. One thing is for certain, he is not playing for team America.

Amazing that the left is so ignorant that they refuse to think about the lubricants that the wind mills need to operate. Gallons upon gallons, and it comes from something called oil. I guess he also hasn't seen the charging stations which are run by diesel generators as well? How about the states that don't get much sun during the winter months? That kind of lets out solar, which has a dodgy history anyway.

A nuclear plant generating 1000 Mgwatts occupies one square mile. Solar plant for same power takes around 75 sq miles and wind power occupies a whopping 420 sq miles. Where does he thinks the space is coming from. Besides turbine blades and motors last barely 15+ years. How are you going to replace them at current inflation rates? This is nuts!!

Could someone remind this vegetable that wind farms kill gazillions of birds. Oooops, I forgot we can't drill either, some sort of insect, bug or whatever might not find his way back home. The Germans found this out too late after they found thousands of dead birds but are now dismantling their wind farms. I don't expect that the vegetable can read but otherwise he might have read about it some time ago and that the Germans are going back to coal as well. As is China! Is there anything this piece of trash has not managed to mess up? Whatever this POS touches it turns to sh@t!!!!!

If you extracted enough energy from the winds blowing over the continental United States to replace what is generated by fossil fuel plants, you would noticeably weaken the jet stream and change its path. And THAT folks, would give you some real climate change.

What a complete imbecile, idiot, and moron. This isn't the America all Americans want. The real solution to an adequate stabile expandable electric supply is nuclear, but they don't want to talk about that. This is all about cap and trade, big government spending and control, and energy-generating technology that is totally inefficient and very expensive.

I spent 41 years in industry, developing and building power plants--coal, waste coal, natural gas, waste gas, landfill gas, and municipal waste fired. You simply cannot replace baseload power with intermittent, unreliable wind and solar power generation. Fossil fuel or nuclear power plants, running in turndown and reserve, will always be necessary to prevent blackouts when there is no wind/solar energy.

When wind and solar fail, we should go to the homes of the dems and their families and REMOVE them from the power grid and any oil or gas deliveries. Let THEM live in the world they forced on us. How about any people that voted dopey dem get rationed only 50% of the power they have been getting. They wanted this mess, let them OWN it.

Easy to say, perhaps, but if I owned a coal plant, they'd have to come and make me shut it down. I'd put up an excellent fight. If every industry challenged the government interference, what could government do? It always seems so easy for them to take over. I know it's more complicated, but we always let them get away with stuff they have no rights to. How long? Or are we just done?

I might start giving some credence to all this global warming mantra from the Left when they eliminate air conditioning and heating from the White House and the Congressional buildings. Only when the Leftists Democrats lead by example and live under the conditions they say they want for the rest of us will they have even a smattering of credibility. And you and I know that won't happen. Same goes for those who want to radically reduce the world population. To them I say, lets start by eliminating them as a first step.
