America loves a comeback story. When you grow up in western Pennsylvania you are surrounded by some of the most compelling narratives in our history. In Elementary School, local students take field trips to Ft. Necessity to learn about the French and Indian War. We are reminded of the outgunned, under equipped, and ill-trained Pennsylvania soldiers who won the American Revolution under George Washington. We hear about Andrew Carnegie coming to America with nothing and building the greatest steel empire that ever existed. We adapt these stories to the generational Pittsburgh legends like Bill Mazeroski’s hitting the 1960 World Series homerun, the Bradshaw to Harris Immaculate Reception, and

Mr. Portogallo performed his military service and earned his retirement. Without it, he probably would have also been forced to close his business and move on. As for the dem candidate, that anyone with a lick of common sense would vote for him defies explanation. It's as if he's become some sort of cult figure.

Braddock has a population of 1750. Braddock governement is headed by a city manager, and like all city manager systems, has a ceremonial mayor. Fetterman was that ceremonial mayor, who takes credit for everything. After years of a do nothing job, he found another one - Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania. The functions of our Lt. Gov. are few - presiding over the State Senate which Fetterman avoided, and Chairman of the State Parole Board. Fetterman was highly involved in that Board, because he believes in early release for all felons (and a reduction in all sentences by 1/3.) And two of his main campaign workers are convicted murderers paroled by his Board. (Read Ann Coulter's column on the 'innocent' murderers.)

The trial of Igor Danchenko shows how much previous Special Counsel Robert Mueller either failed to include in or did not know about for his own report in his investigation on Russia interference in the 2016 election, constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley told Fox News. Turley made his observation Friday after Special Counsel John Durham rested his case and Judge Anthony Trenga threw out one count against Danchenko. Attorneys for Danchenko suggested they would not put forth a defense. Danchenko, a Russian national, pleaded not guilty last year to lying about the source of information that he provided to ex-MI6 Agent Christopher Steele for the much-discredited Trump-Russia dossier.

One of Van Gogh's famous Sunflowers paintings has been cleaned and is back on display, after climate activists threw tins of what appeared to be tomato soup over it. London's National Gallery confirmed it is now back in place, about six hours after the soup incident. Footage showed two people in Just Stop Oil T-shirts opening tins and throwing the contents on the masterpiece before gluing their hands to the wall. Two people were arrested. The gallery said earlier the painting was covered by glass and therefore not damaged.

Watchers of the looming midterm elections could see the whites of Democrats’ eyes even before the Bureau of Labor Statistics unwrapped September’s dreadful 8.2% headline consumer price inflation number on Oct. 13. Blue party big cheeses know that despite Joe Biden’s happy-clappy summer inching above 40% public approval — a “small step for man, one giant leap for [this president]” — Democrats will probably go down to House and Senate defeats on Nov. 8. Desperate people lose their grip on reality, and Democrats get desperate when power is being pried from their grasp. Their hope is fading however much they smile bravely.

President Biden was blasted after his comments attacking Republicans following the September inflation report on Thursday. Biden appeared in Los Angeles to deliver remarks on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and its impact on voters. His speech came after a new Consumer Price Index report revealed that inflation rose 8.2% in September compared with the same time last year, higher than initial predictions indicated. Though Biden was more optimistic about the news, he also took the time to accuse Republicans of intending to make inflation worse should they retake Congress in 2022. "Today’s reports, though, show some progress. Overall, inflation was 2% over the last three months. That’s down from 11%

Moderate Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas recently revealed that his first order of business at the start of Congress' new session would be voting for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to remain in her leadership position, and then he would focus on his district. At the opening of his new campaign office in Texas, Cuellar told reporters that he could be counted on to vote for Pelosi to remain as House speaker. "My first vote is for Nancy Pelosi — no ifs, no but — but then after that, it’s my district," Cuellar said, according to a Texas Tribune newsletter Wednesday. Fox News Digital reached out to Cuellar seeking further

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and other legal groups filed a lawsuit against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Thursday, alleging that migrants detained in four detention facilities in Florida, Louisiana, Texas and Arizona have been denied legal representation. In the lawsuit, the plaintiffs allege that attorneys face "numerous obstacles" in attempting to communicate with detained migrants. These obstacles, the lawsuit says, make representation "extremely difficult and, sometimes, impossible." The lawsuit alleges that attorneys have had difficulty scheduling legal calls and having meetings with their clients in confidential settings.

Many rural Oregonians fed up with the state's liberal politics want to move to Idaho — or rather, move Idaho to them. The Greater Idaho movement proposes redrawing Oregon's borders so that about two-thirds of the Beaver State's land mass becomes part of neighboring Idaho. The movement has already gained support from nine counties in Eastern Oregon, and two more will vote on whether they want lawmakers to work on the logistics of moving the border. "It makes more sense for Eastern Oregonians to get state-level governance coming from Idaho, where they share their values, share their culture, share their politics, than it does to be governed by Western Oregon,"

Blue-check Twitter swarmed, attacking Burns for stating the obvious: Fetterman isn’t OK. It’s remarkable to watch how quickly partisans can coalesce around a new talking point. For months, the national media has been telling us Fetterman’s campaign was completely “normal,” even as video emerges of the candidate struggling to cobble two coherent sentences in succession.

The flight of illegal immigrants from San Antonio to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, organized by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is the political gift that keeps on giving. According to the Democrats, this flight so traumatized the immigrants involved that a civil rights lawsuit has been filed on their behalf. But back in the real world, according to the Los Angeles Times, when the immigrants' friends and relatives overseas heard what happened to them, they … decided to try and come to the United States too. “I heard you can get a lot of help out there,” an immigrant’s friend texted him through WhatsApp after news of the Martha’s Vineyard flight spread.

"Not everybody got flu vaccinated last year, and many people did not get the flu. So that makes us ripe to have potentially a severe flu season."(Snip)"Flu is on the rise, but it's also all of these other viruses that got knocked off kilter," Esper said.

A new CNN analysis fretted that American voters might care more about the cost of their food than they do about the Jan. 6 hearings. Noting Thursday’s Consumer Price Index data which showed inflation reaching 8.2% in September, as well as a cost-of-living index at its highest level since 1982, CNN's Stephen Collinson noted polling has repeatedly reinforced that the economy is the top concern to voters heading into the midterm elections. The data included information about frozen potato products, as well as pork products, which have increased 10% and 5.5%, respectively. "While it would be too simplistic to say

Never let a crisis go to waste, Rahm Emanuel once advised. Add to that this new axiom: Never let your emergency powers expire. As incompetent as Joe Biden might otherwise be, he’s proven adept at following both. Again: The Biden administration extended the Covid-19 pandemic’s status as a public health emergency for another 90 days, preserving measures such as expanded Medicaid and higher payments to hospitals. The decision follows comments President Biden made in September describing the pandemic as over. Some Republican lawmakers said afterward that the administration should wind down its pandemic response and the emergency designation.
