More than 20 states have begun deploying military troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to assist federal agents responding to the border crisis since President Joe Biden took office. National Guard soldiers will be deployed on 400-day deployments, bringing them back home before Thanksgiving 2023. The deployments were at the request of the federal government, though the Biden administration has made no public announcement about soliciting military help from states.

Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.) and his wife said in a statement that Gwen Casten died in June of a sudden cardiac arrhythmia.
“In layman’s terms, she was fine, and then her heart stopped,” the grieving parents said. “We don’t know what caused the arrhythmia, and likely never will.”
