LaToya Cantrell, the controversial Democratic mayor of New Orleans, has said she will repay the city for $30,000 she claimed in city cash for first class flights after living rent-free in a government apartment just three miles from her house. The mayor was forced to pay for the flights after a city attorney was brought in who determined that Cantrell, as a city employee, was obliged by policy to seek the cheapest fares or reimburse the city for deluxe expenses. Cantrell spent around $10,000 on her own flat bed seat and blew a similar amount on a first-class return to France earlier this year - while her aides traveled in coach.

The city will not get a cent of this money unless the City Council docks her pay. It's good to read an article that includes news that a city attorney has told the mayor she was not allowed to fly first class on the city's payroll. An honest mayor would have asked the city attorney about this before the fact. This mayor is not only dishonest, she's also a racist liar.

I worked for an organization led by a black woman. She traveled extensively on business, and was accordingly reimbursed for her trips, but neglected to pay off her official credit card. Eventually, the credit card company threatened to cancel her card and (of course) she didn't have the money to pay it off. So....the controller paid off the card, and put her on a repayment plan where every paycheck was docked. To make sure it didn't happen again, she was given a card that was paid directly by the organization. She left that organization within a year. I never heard if the organization was made whole before she left.

Vice President Kamala Harris made the absurd claim that Americans don’t need to compromise their religious values to be pro-abortion. While claiming to be a devout Catholic, Harris declared that getting an abortion, i.e. killing an innocent life, has nothing to do with God or religious beliefs. When asked what Harris would say “to someone who understands why abortion should be a personal decision between a pregnant person and whomever else they decide to include in the conversation but believes they can't reconcile it with their faith?” Harris responded that the decision should only involve the pregnant woman’s decision.

The only time that would apply is if they were leaking actual material or information that was conveyed to the grand jury.” Federal agents reportedly believe that sufficient evidence exists to charge Hunter Biden with violations of federal tax and gun laws,

You could see this one coming a mile away, and many of us did. When the Supreme Court declared that there is no rational reason to deny the right of two people of the same sex to marry–love is love!–it eliminated the teleological foundation of marriage and the family. If marriage is no longer grounded in the biology of reproduction–it takes two, a man and a woman, to make a child–then the number two is likewise irrational. If George and Ken can be in love, and therefore entitled to marry, then why can’t George, Ken and Susan? The inevitable has happened, as a court in New York
