The prosecution and defense painted very different pictures in the joint trial of a group of Jan. 6 defendants, including members of the right-wing Oath Keepers militia, when opening arguments and testimony started on Monday.
At Washington, D.C.'s federal courthouse, prosecutors are working to jointly try the defendants with a rare Civil War-era "seditious conspiracy" charge, which carries a maximum of 20 years in prison. They allege that the group meticulously planned for months to use Jan. 6 as a springboard to start an armed insurrection to overthrow U.S. democracy.
The defendants, who have pleaded not guilty to charge of seditious conspiracy and other charges, claim that the members

The charges are trumped up CRAP. Only delusional idiots would believe them. Unfortunately for the defendants, DC is full of them.

Sedition, huh? Amazing. All those people and the only people who died during the event were killed by government employees. Sedition, my foot!

How did they plan on doing this without being armed? The only people with weapons were FBI plants.

The obvious question is, How do you have an insurrection without weapons?
This is a show trial and precursor for tying President Trump to these defendants. I can’t help but wonder why the defendants’ attorneys did not request a change of venue. It seems to me the jury pool would be tainted since the vast majority of potential jurors would be democrats. Maybe if some Republicans in Congress would have made some noise to that effect, it might have hade a difference.
There is no way these men are going to get a fair trial. Democrats want a show trial and an already determined outcome. The way the DOJ has handled these defendants has been unconscionable. Let’s just imagine a democrat response if the shoe was on the other foot. They would have been protesting since day one. Nancy and Chuck would have called press conferences and the wailing and gnashing of teeth would be on display on every network. The Republican response speaks volumes about the party’s priorities, lack of interest, and unwillingness to fight injustice. When a high profile violation of someone’s civil rights causes little response from our Republican leaders, democrats will continue their illegal assault on the rights of Americans. Way to go, Republicans! That’s how you honor the oath you took to defend and protect the Constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic. You let the opposition party destroy the concept of equal justice under the law, and all the rights afforded to defendants under the Bill of Rights and Constitution.

“They concocted a plan for armed rebellion to shatter a bedrock of American democracy.”
It would then seem that all did not go according to plan. How do you conduct an armed rebellion without arms?

An armed insurrection without arms is nothing but a protest. Since the election was stolen they had every right to protest and so do we. The DOJ is a terrorist organization.

A trial full of lies. The first being 1/6 was an insurrection. The second that Oath Keepers is a militia group.

And in the meantime, the DOJ, FBI and far too many federal courts are actually attacking certain citizens because of their political views. Talk about attacking the bedrock of our democracy.

Apparently part of that "Lock and load" crowd that wants to assemble on the village green someday to water that Liberty Tree with the blood of tyrants. If they were providing "security" why didn't anyone challenge the agitators directing the crowd from the beginning to go beyond the snow fences and into the Capitol? This was Beer Hall putsch stuff. Boats across the Potomac...sure.

I seem to recall BLM/Antifa rioters got so close to the WH that the Secret Service moved POTUS and others into a bunker. Then the "protesters" set fire to St John's Church. Was anyone arrested? Did the FBI search phone records to identify who was there? Has there been any high profile trials or Congressional hearings? If parading at the Capitol is insurrection isn't rioting and attacking the WH and POTUS also insurrection?
dim controlled banana republic abetted by the media.
