Pro-life activist Mark Houck pleaded not guilty to two counts of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act Tuesday, appearing in court for the first time since FBI agents descended on his home and allegedly took him away in front of his “screaming” children. Houck was taken into custody Friday morning for alleged violations of the FACE Act, stemming from an incident in October 2021, when he pushed a pro-abortion activist outside of an abortion clinic. Houck only pushed the man after he repeatedly used obscene language and invaded his 12-year-old son’s personal space, according to Houck’s wife. The pro-abortion activist, identified

Federal charges for shoving. In the real world this gets you a suspended sentence in a local magistrate court.

When the Republicans take control of the House next January, the first order of business needs to be dragging the execrable Merrick Garland in front of Congress to explain this egregious overreach. The second order of business needs to be to impeach his sorry rear end.

This is clearly persecution, not just prosecution. Every one that lives in PA should call/write their congressman and Senator and complain about the jack booted thuggish way the law is being applied against conservatives. It is clear the Gov has an agenda, and it is to prosecute as many conservatives as possible, putting as many in jail as possible. This cannot continue in a democratic republic or else we will no longer haver a republic. Biden is the centerpiece who could do something to corral the corrupt FBI and others but does not have the capacity or else is encouraging it.

Suppose that all of this abuse of government is in the service of a larger goal? I know this is going to sound conspiratorial. What if all this stuff, imprisoning Jan. 6 protestors for tresspassing and disorderly conduct, the mass FBI raids, all the rhetoric about "extremism" is specifically designed to provoke a response? What if they want another Timothy McVeigh? Remember what the OKC bombing accomplished, politically? It ended the anti-government movement of the 1990s. It was guilt through association. I can't help it, part of me suspects this. The entrenched political class clearly finds populism a threat to the system they exploit.

They are really over reaching on this one. The Feds sent a letter in May notifying Mr. Houck of his then six-month-old violation of the vitally important FACE Act. His lawyers responded he would willingly appear at any time and place of their choosing. The Feds' response was Friday morning. The purpose of the FACE Act is to protect the brave "clinic escorts" that help and protect women seeking abortions as they run the gauntlet of pro-lifers praying in front of aborturaies. The pro-aborts still think the old Operation Rescue from the 1990's is the standard behavior for all pro-lifers forty years later. Its unfortunate that visions of that poor example still lingers in their imaginations. However, since the Left's perception of reality is so far off-kilter, a high profile trial with such an obviously innocent victim could possibly backfire spectacularly when the facts of the case become more widely known. God does work in mysterious ways. Keep praying.

A sane judge would tell both sides to make this go away with a simple apology. That being said, this stunt by Garland is going to make a great conservative campaign ad.

The United States Senate passed a short-term government funding bill on Thursday after over two dozen Republicans crossed party lines to avert a shutdown. In an 72-25 vote, the Senate passed a funding measure meant to keep the government afloat until December 16. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the more than two-month extension would allow lawmakers from both sides of the aisle one last chance at negotiating a year-long budget deal before the new Congress takes office in January. "Let's hope this is the last [stop gap], they do so we get an omnibus [budget] done in December," said Schumer, D-N.Y.

Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Iowa, and South Carolina joined together to file a lawsuit against the Biden administration on Thursday in an attempt to stop the president’s announced student loan-forgiveness program from taking effect. “In addition to being economically unwise and downright unfair, the Biden Administration’s Mass Debt Cancellation is yet another example in a long line of unlawful regulatory actions,” argued the plaintiffs in their filing. The administration has said that it will wipe out up to $10,000 in loans for borrowers making under $125,000 per year, and up to $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients who meet that criteria. Married persons filing jointly will be able to take advantage of

If a week is a long time in politics, 24-hours can seem like an eternity, especially when a White House administration is confused by basic historical facts. U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris amply illustrated this Thursday when she ended her four-day trip to Asia with a journey to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) dividing the Korean Peninsula. During the stop she confused onlooks by asserting the United States has a “strong alliance” with “the Republic of North Korea.” “It is an alliance that is strong and enduring,” she added, intending to refer to the Republic of Korea, which is South Korea’s official name. Her gaffe came barely 24-hours

NATO has concluded that the leaks that recently emerged on the Nord Stream pipelines were the result of sabotage by some unknown actor, the military alliance announced in a Thursday statement. The North Atlantic Council, the decision-making body for NATO, didn’t name a culprit in the statement, but threatened a military response against the responsible party. “All currently available information indicates that this is the result of deliberate, reckless, and irresponsible acts of sabotage,” the council said in a statement. “We, as Allies, have committed to prepare for, deter and defend against the coercive use of energy and other hybrid tactics by state and non-state actors. We’ve been writing about Hurricane Ian bearing down on Florida and now we’re seeing some videos of how bad it’s getting down there. As we reported earlier, a camera from The Weather Channel in Ft. Myers, Florida, was completely submerged underwater despite it being positioned six-feet high. That was happening all over the area, as the water from the storm surge flooded in. It’s up to the roofs in some areas of Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach. It reminds me of pictures of tsunamis. Let’s hope that people got out of there because reports are that it’s wild there.

Nothing tests the mettle of a governor like a natural disaster, with hurricanes being among the worst. Emergency efforts include everything from rescue and recovery of victims, to restoration of power, to distribution of needed supplies, to rebuilding cities affected by the storm. Hurricane Ian, a massive Category 4 storm, made landfall in Florida on Wednesday afternoon, but the worst may be yet to come with storm surges, massive power outages that could last for days, and major rainfall expected. During a press conference on Wednesday evening, Gov. Ron DeSantis warned that Floridians are still “in a very hazardous situation.” But he assured residents that the state

The New York Times has exclusively obtained recordings of thousands of calls that were made throughout March and intercepted by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies from this pivotal location. Reporters verified the authenticity of these calls by cross-referencing the Russian phone numbers with messaging apps and social media profiles to identify soldiers and family members. The Times spent almost two months translating the recordings, which have been edited for clarity and length.

Biden had apparently forgotten about her passing despite putting a statement on it and signing a bill meant to honor her recently. Since my foray into politics, I have come to understand that our system comprises insiders and outsiders and that Donald Trump was the consummate outsider. President Biden once again shirked any responsibility for skyrocketing gas prices and instead demanded that gas stations cut prices at the pump for drivers despite their costs to stay in business being dictated by the market. Taxation and crushing regulation as well as progressive policies have a lot to do with it. It’s almost as if Biden and the left want to drive gas stations out of business.
