Yet another electric vehicle disaster is making the rounds on the internet, this time as a YouTuber with over 1.4 million followers tried towing an ancient 1930s Ford Model A truck with a contemporary Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup. Despite setting the bar ridiculously low–he just wanted to tow it just over 100 miles round trip–the entire experiment failed in a spectacularly “complete and total disaster.” Youtuber Tyler Hoover says in the video, seen below, that “[i]f a truck towing 3,500 pounds can’t even go 100 miles—that is ridiculously stupid.(Snip)“This truck can’t do normal truck things. You would be stopping every hour to recharge

The auto executives salivate at the high-margin EV trucks. Oh wait, somebody said the word, recession.

Disposing AAA batteries is a chore. Imagine electric car batteries. Someone is getting very rich on this new scam.

I'm loving these stories. Am in the market for a new car and will definitely not consider electric.

I would opt for the Model A. It is a work of art, and actually has a motor that will get you where you want to go.

Ford apparently is betting the farm on this junk. Virtual signaling is awfully expensive. Especially if the product is useless.

Several years ago Ford was selling (or at least producing a few) turbo-charged 4 cylinder F-150s. I was looking at buying a new F-150 and these were ridiculously cheap. The salesman (who I've known a long time and trusted) said Ford produced these because of the CAFE requirements - these would offset the higher mpg rating of the 8 and 6 cyl. trucks. He said if you had to haul anything more than the trash to the curb, this ain't the truck for you. He was right, of course. I was very satisfied with the 8 cyl. truck I ended up buying.

It takes 2 hours to charge that little phone stuck to everyone's ear. How long do you have to wait to charge a battery big enough for a truck? If you charge a phone too fast, it gets hot. How hot would charging a truck get? And this was a new truck. I wonder how efficacious that truck battery will be after 3 years? Charging stations fed by wind turbines might not be very efficacious. We will see how long this disaster goes.

Take care of your cars. You may not be able to replace them with a vehicle that works.

We are getting more and more examples of the insanity of the "answers" that liberals are putting forth to "fix" the climate.
First, it has become apparent that the disastrous predictions of the Alarmists are NOT good science, are NOT proven, and are likely WRONG.
Second, the solutions put forth by Alarmists WILL NOT WORK and cannot be implemented on a large scale.
Third. even if we implement all that the Alarmists want, destroying world economies and killing people along the way, IT WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM THEY DEFINE. Their own "science" declares a miniscule, ineffective impact on global temperatures.
This "truck" that only looks like a truck but is more like a matchbox windup toy, is a perfect example of their foolishness.

I think most pickup owners use their truck as a car so this isn't such a big deal.

Does anyone know how much it costs to fully charge a vehicle? Watching these people on TV pull into a charging station and just plug in, you get the impression that the juice is free.

Anyone with a few brain cells could have seen this coming. An electric pickup truck. Why? Amazon is going forward with its plan to replace all of their gas-powered delivery trucks with electric delivery trucks. Good luck getting that package delivered anytime soon.

Once my last child takes her wings and drives she will take my old car and I'll be in the market for a new ride. Do you even THINK that I'll be getting a POS EV? Not going to happen.

EVs are worthless for range, it's just that simple. The battery in a Tesla car, which is so heavy that the vehicle weighs well over 5,000 lbs has the equivalent energy storage as about 2 or 3 gallons of gasoline.
So, you can buy a very expensive car which is quiet and comfortable, and has great acceleration......and a 2 gallon gas tank.
And you MUST fill it with a teaspoon. One spoonful at a time, no cheating.
That's what an EV is like. Short range, very slow to "refuel". But at least they are ultra expensive. And a new battery when they wear out is above $20,000 to buy. Looks like it would be a huge chore to install, too, since it makes up the ENTIRE lower six inches of the vehicle.
