The fastest-cooling real estate markets

Seattle’s housing market is slowing faster than any in the country, a new study has revealed - as cash-strapped buyers increasingly shy away from home purchases. The study, from real estate firm Redfin, ranked the nation’s most populous hubs using metrics such as prices, price drops, and supply - and found that the real estate market is cooling fastest primarily along the West Coast. Property prices along West Coast metropolitan areas are understood to be dipping because of a glut of properties on the market, amid a mass exodus of citizens deterred by rising mortgage rates, crime, and warnings of a looming recession.

Climate change (rising seas!) didn't sink Seattle's real estate market-it was Democratic woke/activist/stupidity that allows criminals to vandalize property in the name of democracy! The Left is consumed by hate & jealousy-all they can do is destroy, not create. Except for chaos, they're good at creating that.

I am married to a native San Diegan. A sizable chunk of his family got sick of watching everything attractive about their city rise in price while the degradation of the quality of life followed. And so they moved to Las Vegas. The thing that has always worried me about living in Arizona, SoCal and Las Vegas is their reliance on the Colorado River for water. Lake Mead is going through a severe drought while millions of illegals, birth tourists and foreign workers and students troop in with their water needs. The state is so poorly managed that water, always an area of serious concern, will become a crisis.

The bicoastal crazy zones will see the most drop since prices were particularly over inflated, and since many are finally fed up with their government's destructive policies and are just bailing out. This leaves more houses available for sale than there are buyers.....because many cannot afford the payments at current interest rates. It should be less of a problem in the more sane central parts of the country.

Here a few months ago a house buyer often had to bid more than the asking price to even be considered and there would be many such offers. I think the prices in San Diego went up 20-30% in 2020-2021. So what of they slip back 15%? The problem for buyers isn't the price, its the higher interest rates.

The federal government runs out of funding on Friday and this week should set up a hot debate over billions more in Ukraine aide, a pipeline payoff deal, Afghan refugee assistance and money to help pay for sky-high heating bills for low-income families. While a final funding bill is still being drawn up, the Senate is set to vote in a procedural move on a 'shell' of the bill on Tuesday, testing whether there is enough of an appetite for it to pass the 60-vote hurdle in the split Senate. Both sides are under pressure to pass a temporary bill to fund the government at its current levels

A clip of former President Donald Trump arguing that the election of President Joe Biden would lead to a plummeting stock market circulated online on Friday after Wall Street saw a bloodbath. The Federal Reserve increased targets for the federal funds rate by 0.75% on Wednesday afternoon, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which tracks 30 of the most prominent companies on American exchanges, tumbling more than 500 points. After stagnating on Thursday, the index fell another 500 points by early Friday afternoon to 29,400. On January 20, 2021, the day of Biden’s inauguration, the Dow had closed slightly above 30,900.

New details are emerging in the Department of Justice targeting of a pro-life activist and Catholic father of seven who was arrested at his home in Pennsylvania on Friday. Some 25 armed FBI agents in 15 vehicles raided the residence of Mark Houck, who leads a nonprofit group that provides sidewalk counseling at abortion clinics in Philadelphia, over an incident last year involving his then-12-year-old son at a Planned Parenthood abortion facility, the family says. Houck protected his son from an aggressive Planned Parenthood escort harassing the 12-year-old,

Democrat Cities are notorious for having some of the worst living conditions in the United States despite all their talk about their policies giving people a better life. One city, in particular, stands out as one of the best examples of how much worse a city can get under full leftist control. As RedState has been covering over the course of years, San Francisco was once a crown jewel of California but is now a drug-infested, crime-ridden, tax-plagued example of how not to run a city. It’s a city with its own “poop map,” so needed because the homeless in the city defecate in the wide-open wherever they feel like it.

The Republican bloodbath expected in the 2022 midterms has dwindled to an estimated 11-seat majority in the House with just over a month before voters head to the polls. Changing political landscapes, including migrants being transported to Democratic cities and legislation emerging from the overturn of Roe v. Wade, has altered the predicted outcome of the midterm elections in November. A CBS News model estimate shows Republicans emerging from the election with a slim majority of 223-212. This is a second month of downward movement for Republicans, who were at 226 seats in August and 230 in July.

The Wall Street Journal is known as a sober, somewhat-staid publication originally meant for finance types to pore over stock market news and goings on in “the Street.” More recently, it has become an alternative for thinking people who are sick of the screeching from The New York Times and The Washington Post but who’d still like an establishment take from a national news publication. It’s somewhat surprising, therefore, to read a blistering op-ed by their Editorial Board, but on Sunday evening that’s exactly what they delivered. I have had to recalibrate my belief system. The “crime” fell quite a bit short of murder.
