New Zealand's Jacinda Ardern at the U.N.:
‘Disinformation’ Should Be Controlled

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern called for more “collective” action in her address to the U.N. General Assembly on Friday, especially on the issues of climate change, nuclear non-proliferation, pandemic response, and opposing wars of aggression such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Ardern’s authoritarian impulses were on display in her call for tighter regulations on Internet speech, although she insisted she values free speech and merely wishes to cleanse “disinformation” from international discourse. Ardern portrayed the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, which New Zealand addressed with some of the heaviest lockdowns to be found outside of communist China

Manmade climate change is the biggest disinformation on the planet. one molecule of co2 cannot raise the temperature of the other 9,999 molecules around it to any measurable amount. It is physically impossible. Every physical scientist knows this. Some are lying to you, some are feeding at the trough, some think it doesn't really matter to let this go by. Many are afraid for their reputations and jobs. She has no right to choose what is disinformation when she is one of the worst offenders on the planet. Manmade climate change thru CO2 increases is a fantasy and a fraud. It is time for the politicians and scientists to face the music. Their behavior harms the poorest and most powerless people on the planet. They should be ashamed of themselves.

It's not the disinformation that is the problem, it is the many unqualified, dictatorial and generally rigid people who get to decide what is information and disinformation. There is a reason that Freedom of Speech is the FIRST Amendment. Jacinda is a whacko control freak and the US is full of those just like her.

When the government tells me what I am not allowed to SAY or believe that goes against the very concepts of free speech and religious freedom even if my speech is wrong or my beliefs idiotic. New Zealand and Canadian leaders without a doubt abridged their citizen's rights during the Pandemic perhaps even more egregiously than in the US and elsewhere. Hopefully the ballot box will be sufficient to wrest back those rights. But when does it become necessary to use violence to restore those and other rights? Because Ardern, Trudeau, and many others will not give up power easily.

1, I hope you are kidding. WHO gets to DECIDE what is 'disinformation'? No. In a civilized society peoper are taught HOW to think and not WHAT to think. Let anyone say whatever they want to. Listener beware. The government does not need to throttle lies because in the process they simply become a monopoly supplier of lies. There are laws against slanderous lies, but no law should ever police the opinions of others be they right, wrong, founded, unfounded, sane or insane. Absolutely not. People must have the right to be stupidly wrong and prove it with their words without fear of governmental retribution.

A man of accomplishment: Ron DeSantis'

Ron DeSantis is running for president. He has as much as admitted it, although he hasn’t done the obligatory visits to Iowa and New Hampshire. 2024 should be his time and it would be a waste if he didn’t run. Governor DeSantis doesn’t have to announce yet. The contenders for the nominations are former president Trump or DeSantis. Everybody else is an also-ran. Trump, should he decide to run, can count on residual loyalty. DeSantis can appeal to voters as a younger, more vital, less controversial, and arguably more politically savvy alternative. Trump commands attention, but that attention tends to draw focus to himself. DeSantis commands attention, but

As we reported earlier, the new ABC/WaPo poll is just a wasteland for the Democrats. The poll of likely voters had Joe Biden back down at 39 percent approval, the generic ballot at Republicans +5 (51 percent to 46 percent). The economy was the number one issue for 84 percent of the people in their decision on who to vote for Congress, with 74 percent saying the state of the economy was poor under Biden. On top of that, the numbers as to who they trust show them favoring the GOP by massive amounts on the most important issues in this race: economy (+17), inflation (+18), and crime (+22). Biden is underwater

I have been saying all along that Joe Biden’s job approval numbers are inflated. There is no way that anything like 40 percent of voters observe what has happened over the last two years and say, “Great job, Joe!” I think his approval numbers are buoyed by Democrats who know he is a lousy president, but stick up for their party when a pollster calls. This ABC News/Washington Post poll supports that hypothesis. It finds that only 35% of Democrats want Biden to be their party’s nominee in 2024. That implies, I think, an overall approval rating of no more than 30 percent, which is one reason why the midterms are going

Italians were voting Sunday in national elections in which the far-right Brothers of Italy party -- led by Giorgia Meloni -- appears poised to make big gains after the collapse of two governments since the last election. Her ultra-conservative party, whose origins lie in post-war fascism, currently controls just two of Italy's 20 regions, having won just 4.5% of the vote in the 2018 elections. But since the collapse of former Prime Minister Mario Draghi's coalition earlier this year -- which triggered the snap election -- the Brothers of Italy have only surged in popularity, with recent polling suggesting nearly a quarter of the electorate backs her.

Ahead of the November midterm elections, voters widely favor the Republican candidate in competitive House districts crucial to GOP efforts to flip the chamber, a new poll indicates. Among those living in congressional districts rated at least somewhat competitive by ABC’s FiveThirtyEight, registered voters favor Republican candidates by 55 to 34 percent, according to a poll produced for ABC News/Washington Post by Langer Research Associates. In heavily Democratic districts, Democrats lead by 35 points, “pointing to a potential overvote where they’re most prevalent,” the poll notes. Accounting for all respondents, 47 percent would vote for the Republican candidate and 46 percent would vote for the Democratic candidate if the House election

As an election watcher, the last several months have been mind-numbing to live through. Despite every historical fundamental pointing to a Republican win in November, the predominant narrative has been that Democrats are resurgent due to Dobbs. Election modelers have even started adding scam PAC polls into their averages just to toss an extra bit of absurdity on top. It’s truly been garbage in, garbage out, as most major pollsters continue to use registered voter screens instead of likely voter screens, something that leads to a projection of a positive Democrat environment. So what’s the narrative? You are supposed to believe that the sizable GOP turnout advantage during the primaries won’t translate

With his party struggling in the midterms, his economic stewardship under fire and his overall job approval under 40%, a clear majority of Democrats in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll say the party should replace Joe Biden as its nominee for president in 2024. In the November midterm election ahead, registered voters divide 47%-46% between the Republican and the Democratic candidate in their House district, historically not enough to prevent typical first-midterm losses. And one likely voter model has a 51%-46% Republican-Democratic split. Looking two years off, just 35% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents favor Biden for the 2024 nomination; 56% want the party to pick someone else.
