The Jan. 6 committee has reached an agreement with Ginni Thomas to be interviewed in the coming weeks, a source close to the House panel told NBC News on Wednesday. Emails, records and reporting indicate that Thomas, a conservative activist and the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, was involved in some aspects of a scheme involving “fake electors” after the 2020 election and was also in touch with Trump lawyer John Eastman about his strategies to overturn the election results. CNN first reported the planned meeting with Thomas. Thomas first came under scrutiny for messages to former President Donald Trump’s chief of staff Mark Meadows and state lawmakers

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy, the would-be Speaker of the House should the GOP retake the majority as most expect in November’s midterm elections, exclusively previewed the GOP’s forthcoming “Commitment to America” for Breitbart News here in Western Pennsylvania on Thursday evening ahead of the launch on Friday morning. “We’re going to roll it tomorrow on Friday in Washington—Washington County, not Washington, DC, where the real Americans are,” McCarthy said. “What it is is it is a plan to put America back on the right track. It is a Commitment to America where for the last year and a half all the Republican members have been in different

In a random act of journalism, Thursday night's edition of NBC Nightly News ran a segment on the ongoing exodus of Latino voters abandoning the Democrat Party and voting for Republicans. This trend isn't just relegated to Florida Hispanics, as NBC pointed out, there are more voters shifting towards the GOP.  "Less than 50 days until the mid-terms Latino voters are more coveted than ever including right here in battleground Nevada where they're expected to make up 1 out of every 5 voters," correspondent Guad Venegas announced at the top of the report.  Venegas added that Republicans are "optimistic

Joe Biden and other world leaders held a donor conference Wednesday in New York for the Global Fund Conference. The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria raised $14.25 billion. This was the highest amount ever pledged for the health organization but it fell short of its $18 billion goal. The United Kingdom and Italy said they would announce their pledges at a later time. Joe Biden generously pledged $6B on behalf of the United States. Your tax dollars at work. The Global Fund has a record of decades of progress against the diseases but was set back by the COVID pandemic. The Global Fund was created in 2002 and brings

The three departments heads who spoke to Forbes are part of a group of at least five senior leaders who resigned after being asked to take orders from Beijing, according to the report. “A lot of our guidance came from HQ, and we weren’t necessarily a part of strategy building,” one former leader told the outlet. “I’ve been in this industry for a long time. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) leads Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL) by double digits in Florida’s gubernatorial race, a recent Echelon Insights survey found. The survey asked respondents who they would vote for if the gubernatorial race were held today. DeSantis enjoys a ten-point advantage, leading Crist 52 percent to 42 percent. The Republican governor also enjoys more certainty among respondents, as 43 percent said they will “definitely” vote for him, compared to 31 percent who said the same for Crist. A poll from USA TODAY/Suffolk also found DeSantis comfortably leading his Democrat challenger by seven percentage points, or 48 percent to 41 percent.

Greg Abbott (R) is pulling further ahead of Democratic challenger Beto O'Rourke, who has long been considered the underdog of the race. "Gov. Abbott, who won a landslide 13-point race against Democratic challenger Lupe Valdez four years ago, has a 7-point lead with over six weeks until Election Day," said Siena College Research Institute Director Don Levy, per the Chronicle. Abbott is up 50-43 over O'Rourke, the poll indicated. "Abbott has the support of 95 percent of Republicans, and O'Rourke has the support of 93 percent

Miami - President Joe Biden is coming to Florida next week to campaign with Charlie Crist as he tries to unseat Gov. Ron DeSantis in a battleground state that has increasingly become a Republican stronghold. But Democratic Senate candidate Val Demings won’t be there Tuesday to meet the president in her hometown, Orlando. The divergent whereabouts of the two candidates says as much about their respective campaigns as it does about Democrats' approach-or-avoid conflict with the president, whose approval ratings remain underwater as he nevertheless regains his popularity and starts hitting the campaign trail in the final weeks leading up to the Nov. 8 midterm election. J.P. Morgan Chase chief Jamie Dimon on Wednesday rejected in the strongest terms the idea that the country’s largest banks should stop funding new oil and gas production and exploration. The chief executive of the largest U.S. bank was testifying before a House panel with other bank executives. Representative Rashida Tlaib, the Michigan Democrat, claimed that preventing temperatures from rising more than 2.7 degrees in the coming decades would require no new fossil fuel production. “Please answer, yes or no. Does your bank have a policy against funding new oil and gas products?” Tlaib asked. “Absolutely not and that would be the road to Hell for America,” said Dimon.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon knocked President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness, charging it will do little to fix the ongoing problem. Dimon called the program “badly done” when speaking before a U.S. House panel with other large bank CEOs on Wednesday. “I wish they had targeted the people who actually needed help,” Dimon said. “They still haven’t fixed the underwriting and they haven’t fixed the cost of college.” “We basically put a Band-Aid on, spent a lot of money and didn’t fix the problem,” he added. President Biden’s plan would essentially give up to $20,000 in student loan cancellation to Americans earning less than $125,000

Voters trust the Republican Party over Democrats by a wide margin on the economy and economic issues ahead of the November midterm elections, a Morning Consult poll revealed Tuesday. The poll is bad news for Democrats because President Joe Biden’s rescissory economy is the number one issue for voters. By a margin of eight points (46-38 percent), respondents trusted Republicans over Democrats on the economy. Republicans were trusted five percent (45-40 percent) more on the issue of creating economic opportunity through employment than Democrats. Voters also trust Republicans by ten points to solve Biden’s soaring inflation (46-36 percent) over Democrats.

The House on Wednesday passed a bill to reform the Electoral Count Act in ways Liz Cheney and other proponents say would clarify that the vice president's role in counting electoral votes is purely ceremonial, and is meant to head off future efforts to try to overturn election results. It cleared the chamber on a mostly party-line vote, 229-203, with nine Republicans joining all Democrats to vote for it, even as Republican leaders 'whipped' against the bill. 'This bill will prevent Congress from illegally choosing the president itself,' said Cheney (R-Wyo.), who coauthored the bill with Democratic Rep. Zoe Lofgren (Calif.),

The far-left state of California further embraced neo-paganism this week when Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law allowing the practice of composting dead human beings to better combat climate change. Citing the high CO2 emissions associated with cremation, the bill will give people the option to give their dead remains over to a process known as natural organic reduction (NOR) should they not want to be buried or cremated. “The process involves placing the body inside a long, reusable steel container along with wood chips and flowers to aerate it – allowing microbes and bacteria to break down the remains,” according to the Daily Mail.

The end is near. For Putin’s military options in Ukraine, that is. Wednesday in Moscow, Putin said he will call up reservists and hold political referenda in captured Ukrainian territory. And yet again, he threatened to use nuclear weapons if Russian territory is in danger. Despite the scary language, Putin is not fooling anybody in NATO. Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg lost no time pointing out that Russia doesn’t have enough weapons to equip more troops. White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby immediately said the speech showed Putin was struggling. And at the UN, President Biden denounced Putin’s war.
