The steady-shouldered pallbearers who safely carried the Queen's coffin during her state funeral have won the hearts of the nation amid growing calls for the soldiers to be honoured with medals.
With the eyes of the world on them, the eight soldiers from the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards raised and put down the Queen's 500lb lead-lined coffin no less than 10 times on her journey from Westminster Hall to St George's Chapel in Windsor.
The team, each of whom is required to over 6ft tall, did not put a foot wrong all day as first they shouldered her coffin, with each soldier wearing rubber-soled boots to avoid slipping

Well done, young men. I don't recall seeing one woman amongst them. Isn't that sexist? Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.

At King George V's funeral, the Maltese cross on the top of the crown fell off. Luckily it was recovered.

Every single thing went like Clockwork! I was stunned. Day after day everything was perfect. Yes, those Pallbearers did a stellar job, especially with those steep stairs at Windsor. Everyone seemed to know where they belonged at any time. Every Flower was in place along the way. My question was, "how did they get the Horses not to poop along the way"? The streets were pristine!

I cannot but reflect upon this sober tableau, that it signifies not merely the passing of the current British regent, but also the passing of the British Empire, perhaps all of Great Britain from our world. The late Queen was a magnificent person, and did as well as could ever be expected of any individual whose duty it was to oversee the dismantlement of the very society over which she was symbolically ruling. The physical entity known as "Great Britain" will persist, but its denizens will no longer carry with them the weight of their heritage. The new "Englishman" is personified by the Mayor of London, the execrable Sadiq Khan. He is a usurper, an upstart, an anti-colonial radical and verminous enemy of all things British. He was elected by a majority of the population of London, which is no longer native born white English stock. He is as opposed to traditional England as was/is Barack Hussein Obama opposed to traditional America. Barring radical alteration of demographic realities, this is the future for both Great Britain and The United States--to be carried out in a final outburst of former glory, like a sun that goes supernova then winks out, leaving only a black hope where a nation once was.

#5 The horses did their duty along every street, and all those behind the caisson had to step in it so as to not break step. As for those pallbearers, I guessed 400 pounds for the weight of the casket. Also remember, they weren't holding handles on the casket, but held that casket on their shoulders. The only time I saw any of those soldiers showing any sign of sweat, was after carrying the casket up the steps at Windsor Castle. The last soldier clearly had a wet brow after carrying the casket up those steps.

The funeral was flawless, and kudos to the military who not only performed flawlessly, but did so after rehearsing at night before the daily activities. They must be exhausted now. The pallbearers deserve a special medal, one just for them.

Unfortunately #6 has it right. In that respect the Democrats have been openly saying that any third world person who wishes to claim asylum in the USA must be allowed to enter and resettle in the USA, regardless of the immigration laws that have been passed by Congress to ultimately diversify the country. The ultimate objective of Biden and the Democrats by way of their unlawful “open borders” scheme is to permanently change the demographics of the USA by bringing about a circumstance where a huge coalition of minority peoples of both domestic and foreign origin who fit within the ethnic and racial categories of Democrat identity politics make up a new national majority, and are transformed into future socialist Democrat supporters and voters, to keep the socialist Democrats in permanent control of the Congress and the White House able to send the wimpy Republicans either into oblivion or to prison.
The result of the November election in the short term will show if this leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrat plan will continue to succeed. Do you think that the Democrats would allow the USA to be flooded with mostly all poor and uneducated illegal aliens from the third world, who they intend to legalize through Democrat designed “path to citizenship” amnesties that the Democrats refer to as being acceptable immigration reform if they ever thought that more than a small percentage of them would eventually become conservative or otherwise wimpy Republican supporters and voters? If you do, think again!

The honor of the task is worth more than a medal.
There is a man in my area who was the Queen's personal trumpeter for a short period of time. This was many decades ago. Also he was a champ in martial arts.

On the Queen’s casket’s being lined in lead:
There are a number of traditions associated with royal coffins, from the placement of the Imperial State Crown, Orb, and Sceptre during the lying in state period, to the lead lining.
But why is it lined with lead? Here is everything you need to know.
