Attorneys who are representing 30 of the 48 Venezuelan asylum-seekers who were flown from Texas to Martha's Vineyard off Massachusetts are looking to open a criminal investigation, claiming they were 'induced to board airplanes and cross state lines under false pretenses'.
Boston-based group Lawyers for Civil Rights (LCR) who are representing the asylum-seekers pro-bono say the group, which includes women and toddlers, were duped in a coordinated political stunt that targeted vulnerable people based on their race and country of origin.
'Individuals, working in concert with state officials, including the Florida governor, made numerous false promises [to the migrants] – including of work opportunities, schooling for their children,

Hilarious. Yeah, "criminal probe".....because illegals didn't get treated nicely. ILLEGAL ALIENS.....they should be deported yesterday.

Although I'm not in favor of keeping illegals here in the States, I am in favor of trading Venezuelan "immigrants" for these traitorous lawyers. I'd even accept two Venezuelans for every lawyer! I think sending these lawyers to Venezuela would be an equitable trade. Also, revoke their citizenship's so they can't come back.

According to article above, there were plenty of jobs available on MV. The problem was that the elitist racist snobs on the island did not want the illegals in their midst. The supposed lack of jobs was not the fault of DeSantis. The “migrants” should be suing the government of MV instead.

I'll bet Florida has signed documentation promising nothing.
How many claimed this because they were having their arms twisted, we're afraid or promised big payouts by lawyers?

One illegal would be of more benefit to society than three or four lawyers.

Do tell how this is any different from OBiden transferring them all over the country in the middle of the night? And there were work opportunities on MV…but NIMBY islanders didn’t want what they fully support for the rest of us. Well played DeSantis; well played. Hypocrisy on display for all who will see!

Ron DeSantis didn't designate Martha's Vineyard a "Sanctuary City." The town's governing body did that. In choosing to designate itself as such, Martha's Vineyard (and every other Sanctuary City) actively participates in luring migrants to the sanctuary they desperately seek. This might be called bait and switch.
And by the way, in another article, I learned that these "migrants" must FIRST apply for asylum. They must then wait 150 days for work permission, and will not qualify for a work card until 180 days after filing for asylum. This is something every Sanctuary City should keep in mind, as any offers of employment cannot be legally accepted until six months have passed since the proper applications were been completed.

Love how they state "individuals, in concert with Florida state officials".
Isn't that sound familiar with how many of the tech companies have worked in concert with the Federal officials or with campaign officials?
Hmm...
Believe Martha's Vineyard had a sign that welcomed all immigrants, and the state is a sanctuary state. I'll bet there is work there too.

Hahahaha!!! I’d say that falls on MV and all heir false advertising re: illegal aliens.

Of course, we know that they should be charging Martha's Vineyard towns with discrimination since we know that they had job openings on the island, that there were multiple hotel rooms for rent and that the local municipalities had at least $100 million in undedicated surplus funds.

"He" didn't promise that...the people there who declared themselves a "Sanctuary" made those promises, he merely notified the border hopping criminals who wanted to go there of those "Promises"..

These attorneys are attention seeking idiots. What, did these illegals hire them and pay them a retainer? Didn’t think so. There is no political downside for red state Governors to send them to sanctuary cities. They have no business even being here and they have no rights.

One of many new legal avenues opening up. Government will fake respond, lose and pay up (Thanks, stupid taxpayers ;) !). Lawyers win the mostest. Then, think kickback. All the right pockets get a lil' jingle. It's a laundering thing.
